Lovely hotel. Modern and lovely decor. Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was well served and staff friendly and attentive. Parking outside hotel could be an issue if you don’t arrive early but we managed to park down the street and it wasn’t a problem. Would recommend this hotel

Delightful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. breakfast was substantial and tasty. Hotel is in the centre of the small town and so very near the Melrose Abbey, gardens and the river. Parking was busy outside the hotel when we arrived but we could park at their sister hotel opposite which was fine

Professional smart and friendly service (very different from a nearby hotel experience the preceding few nights.) Our room was beautiful and well equipped with great views over the square and main street. Great mattress and pillows (so good we were hunting for the mattress brand on checking-out.) Breakfast: excellent quality. We don’t normally eat dinner in our hotel, there’s plenty of alternatives in Melrose, but we would choose dinner here when we return. The menu is great and well priced and the dining room is beautiful. A faultless stay in a family run establishment, a lot of pride in this boutique little hotel is evident. An absolute gem in the Borders (and we’ve stayed in a lot of places.)

Our stop in Melrose was unplanned and at the last minute. Just looking at the hotel from the outside we knew it was going to be good. The staff were very friendly, the food delicious and the rooms very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay again.

We had a lovely stay at the Townhouse. The superior room was exceptionally large, with a modern cosy feel and excellent ensuite shower facility. The breakfast and evening meal food was very good too. Staff very helpful and friendly. Melrose is a lovely small town with plenty to see and do in the surrounding area.

I asked for a quiet room and we were given a lovely peaceful room at the back which was perfect. Very comfortable bed and thick blackout curtains meant we got a great night's sleep. We had a very nice dinner and breakfast too. The staff were welcoming and efficient. We would definitely recommend The Townhouse for both accommodation and food.

The Townhouse is a fantastic well run hotel with a friendly team who were very welcoming. We had a comfortable tastefully decorated room with a kettle, tea, biscuits, bottled water and a fan heater if we needed additional warmth. The bathroom was compact with small shower gel/shampoo bottles along with lovely soft hand and bath towels. The choice for breakfast was extensive with fruit salad, porridge, a full Scottish and choice of eggs being offered along with tea/coffee and fruit juices! What we had was delicious. We would love to stay here again.

A lovely hotel in the centre of town. Very welcoming, friendly staff. The room was slightly dated but very clean and comfortable. The evening meal and breakfast were both delicious.

Lovely hotel with very professional staff. Great breakfast and we upgraded our room to Deluxe Double which was lovely. Would definitely stay again next time we visit Melrose

A lovely room, well decorated and with a comfortable bed. There restaurant provided a very good menu choice for evening meal and the food was very good.

Very easy parking on the street and in dedicated carpark opposite the hotel. Immaculate public areas, stylish and understated. Professional smart and friendly service (very different from a nearby hotel experience the preceding few nights.) Our room was beautiful and well equipped with great views over the square and main street. Great mattress and pillows (so good we were hunting for the mattress brand on checking-out.) Breakfast: excellent quality. We don’t normally eat dinner in our hotel, there’s plenty of alternatives in Melrose, but we would choose dinner here when we return. The menu is great and well priced and the dining room is beautiful. A faultless stay in a family run establishment, a lot of pride in this boutique little hotel is evident. An absolute gem in the Borders (and we’ve stayed in a lot of places.)

The hotel is on Main Street close to the abbey and shops. A lot of the shops close at 4 pm so keep this in mind if you wish to explore. There are a few options for dinner all rather expensive. We picked up food at the Co op grocery. Be aware stairs must be climbed to rooms on the second floor. May be difficult for some. There is a railing, Both of us found the duvet very heavy and hot for this time of year even with the window open. WR worked well for disability access. Parking available once you know where to go. Ask before hand.
