Comfort Inn San Diego Miramar

The hotel was nice, clean and our room had a side by side freezer and refrigerator also a table with chairs. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because there is no elevator and my bad knee didn’t like climbing stairs to the third floor. I would recommend it if your healthy.

The location worked great for where we needed to be, free parking and free breakfast was a plus.The staff was always friendly and helpful. It would be great if you had an elevator for handicaped and elderly so they could have other floor options than only the first floor.

Hotel is not in a great condition. Biggest disappointment was it did not have an elevator despite having 3 floors! Be prepared to carry your luggage multiple floors. Bathrooms are in a poor state.

Located next to the air base so planes can be loud, but it is right next to the I-15 onramps for convenient access. No elevator available. Building is a little rundown and bath faucet was leaking.

Hotel is very dated but the updates to rooms or pleasant. Enjoyed the refrigerator and other amenities that were provided inside the room however, the swimming pool was very deceiving from the pictures on the website is very small. I would say the size of an oversize hot tub

There was no elevator. The area that they had set up for breakfast is way to small for the amount of rooms in the hotel. Parking is unclear since the hotel shares a parking lot with Carls Jr. Concerns about being towed away due to this. Door to our hotel room did not close completly without extra fource

I feel bad leaving this semi-negative review because the staff was exceptionally nice and I 100% understand the noise complaints, however there was really no way to avoid it given the thinness of the walls and floors. The property has a tiny parking lot beside a Carl's Jr. There's only one entrance which is also the exit that goes through the lobby and leads to the stairs. The stairs slant down in such a way that we had to lean forward just to not fall back, and I did trip at one point carrying my stuff up the stairs due to this. The walls and floors are so thin I could hear people talking in ths next room clear as day. Also, any time we'd take a step or get off of the bed, it sounded as if we were jumping even though we were basically tip-toing as we had already gotten two noise complaints. We were on the third floor, no elevator. The bathtub creaked and felt flimsy like I was going to fall through at any point and the water pooled in the center so I had to move it with my foot to the drain. But, the staff was really nice.

We stayed for a week and it was a very nice room on the third floor. The bed was very comfortable. Room was very clean. And the amenities were great. We got the one with a kitchenette which was basically a larger fridge and large sink. No cooking except for a microwave. It was fine because we ate in restaurants most of our stay. Th bathroom was very clean, nice towels, water pressure was great. The don’t have any exhaust fans in the bathroom fyi. Oh and for those parents that need a crib, don’t bother asking because they don’t have one (even though it was listed as one of the things that this hotel provides. The staff even looked confused that I asked for one. (I would suggest to update your amenities list so parents know what to expect) The breakfast is great, they have fresh waffles, apples, toast, muffins, (I wasn’t a fan of the “hotel” eggs) turkey sausage. Staff was always welcoming. The only laundry they had was one washer and dryer but we didn’t use it. The outside of the property on the side entrance could use some cleaning as it did smell like urine. It may just be from the dogs as it is a pet friendly hotel. Overall I would recommend the place because it’s easy access to the freeway and has all the basic things you need at a great price.

Danny from the front desk was very helpful, overall the experience was great, it would improve by having an elevator for the upper levels.

Aside from a painful check-in process my family and I could not have been happier with our choice of hotel for our 3 day getaway to beautiful San Diego! This place takes pride in providing a clean and safe place to lay your head down without breaking the bank. Breakfast is what you would expect, eggs, sausage, waffle maker, and the usual assortment of morning grub🙂 pool was small, but very kid friendly. Gets kinda packed, but to be expected (jump in when ya get the chance.) rooms were very clean, beds incredibly comfy. They have an in house washer&dryer which was helpful after our outing to La Jolla shores. Would we stay again? ABSOLUTELY! Will be back again next year🙂

The place is full of mold and the management knows about it, the rooms and bathrooms are also not upto the mark.

There was a roach inside my room. I took a picture. Aside from that, the batter for the waffles was bitter. I let the gentleman at the reception area know and he reassured me he would change it; it was never changed. Disappointing and unfortunate for Comfort inn to represent this owner of this hotel.

There were bugs crawling all over and it was a horrible place to stay. Wouldn’t recommend this place to my worse enemy!!

I always clean before we settle in, the head boards had built up “grease” dirt, the tub and restroom floors had hair everywhere. The toilet had hair . I don’t think the room was actually cleaned. The beds were so uncomfortable I now have a stiff neck. The pillows were small , which was weird. Booked this room last minute, cleanliness could improve .

I was placed in a room that smelt awful. My husband got sick and we tried to be gone as much as possible to avoid the smell. The carpet was wet and filthy. Will not stay here again.

We had to shorten our stay due to the fact that we got bedbugs and when we asked to check out early and not be charged for the rest of our stay, he refused and didn’t believe me that there were bugs in the room, even though my sons and I were covered in bites, and there were dead bed bugs from where we had smashed them

The staff was nice, but everything else really wasn’t. As soon as you step out of the car you can smell the nearby dumpsters. Our bedsheets had stains on them, the water would switch between hot and cold on its own. Our first morning, we came downstairs for breakfast and instead of making waffles, they were fixing their septic tank and with no warning the day before that breakfast would be canceled. You could smell the septic tank all the way on the 3rd floor. And our last day before going home, it wasn’t checkout time yet but our card keys locked us out. Won’t return

The room felt moist and musty. There was no fan in the bathroom. The breakfast was ok. Lots of carbs but not a lot of protein or healthier options.

There is NO ELEVATOR!!! That was a surprise. The facility is older but Not Ugly rooms kinda updated feel. Not sure what happened in our room prior to us but the smell walking in was not good. We opened the window to vent but later realized the carpet felt wet. Day two it was still wet feeling and smelly as u walked in. Didn’t feel like it was drying. There is also no bathroom vent so moisture accumulated causing mold mostly in bathroom and window. The attempt to tend to the problem is seen but husband thinks it’s due to weather n no ventilation. The sheets were Dry, clean n soft. The shower was Awesome after a long day. If the mold n wet carpet wasn’t a problem it would have been close to excellent. Staff were kind n pleasant. Thank you.

Good place, free breakast and free parking. Room is clean, spacious, organized. Accessible since its right next to freeways,commisary,coffee and gas. Only downside is wifi didnt work for 5 days that we stayed there. I told the guy in the front desk but he only said the router was sitting directly on our room. But still no wifi. Weve stayed in much cheaper hotel but they hve better wifi connections. We still recommend since its a nice place to stay.

Clean, spacious, good breakfast. Pretty noise, wifi kept disconnected.

Outlets barely put out any power so even when I was plugged in my laptop was slowly draining battery. Other than that, the stay was pleasant. Food is rotated out at the Continental breakfast quickly, the shower water pressure is very nice, and the AC is very effective.

The room was clean and quiet however there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom so the room was extra muggy after a shower. The bed was uncomfortable. It was hard and springy. The sheets didnt breath so it left us hot all night even with the ac running. The tv options were horrible. Not even basic cable channels.

No vent was in bathroom and shower water temperature was not stable.

The pictures online make it seem more updated than it is. Wifi signal would not work in room and i needed to work from the room. Another issue was no elevator and being placed on the 3rd floor and needing to take all my bags up 3 flights.

Terrible experience with checking in. Staff are not helpful at all, Check in time is 2pm we didnt get our room till 3:30pm. When asked for the reason why they said late checkout. Then i asked when is late checkout they said 12:30. That would mean 3 hours to get a room ready for a booked room. No compensation was given offered even changing room was not possible because its a prepaid room. The room that we got smells so bad that it was it hard to breathe. When I explained to the girl in the front desk the situation her only solution was to have us check out already, She said they wont do anything and dont have to do anything since its already paid for , so they dont care . Its a 3night stay i can only last for 2 nights and checked out ive never experienced anything like this Please do not book to this location You will have a negative vibe Awful

My overall rating is 1 star. On the final night of our stay, my family and friends' family were playing Splendor in the breakfast room. While it was clearly not breakfast hours, the room was open and since there is no lobby to hang out in, the implicit assumption is that, sure, you can hamg out in the room. Less than 15 minutes after we started our game, two staff members (one who watches the front desk and the other, presumably, part of the housekeeping staff), barged into the room and yelled at us that we were not allowed in the room and that we have to get out. On top of that, they turned off the lights as we were complying woth the request. Unacceptable. Absolutely unacceptable. I immediately expressed my displeasure with the staff. While another staff memeber did end up turning on the lights, the attitude and manner in which we were treated was absolutely unacceptable and unprofessionaI. I offered a half-hearted apology. I requested to speak with the manager, but there was no manager on site. The staff on site contacted the manager, and after all was said and done, the manager did extend an apology and offered to meet with me the next morning as well to apologize to my face. I never got a time in which the meeting would take place. The next day, I went up to the front unannounced for two reasons. There was no set time we were going to meet and also, the phone in our room was broken. The manager at the front once again apologized and said that this would never happen.

Not the best my first night check in was at 2pm I want able to check in until 7:35pm shut sorry staff housekeeper. I booked through hotels.com my number was on file I was never given a call or a heads up. And most of all they weren't even really trying to reimburse me or add on extra hours for the following day I had to fight with them and then they wanted to give me a free $4 20 oz soda. The next night I switched rooms the knob in the bathroom fell off.

Dani the front desk was very accommodating four our group of 18 people. He was so helpful and eager to help us get situated. Excellent service and extremely kind.

It was a nice place to stay, the blow dryer didn't work in my room and I called the front office and it was resolved right away, thanks again.

I would never stay there again. When i checked in there was no one in the front desk had to wait for 10 minutes for someone to arrive. Then when I got my room there’s no elevator to take to the 3rd floor so we had to take stairs with our luggage. When we arrived to our room we got a non smoking room and it reeked with cigarette smell. They tried to cover it up with febreeze. We try to stay there but after 30 minutes our throat started to burn and decided to leave. We asked for a refund but they said to go thru expedia since that’s where i made the reservation and Comfort Inn is not wanting to refund me back .

I want to highlight Dony that works at the front desk at the Miramar Kearney Mesa location. He was very kind. He provided excellent costumer service and answered every question I had. He made my stay very smooth and comfortable.

Clean and budget friendly. Sam at front desk was very welcoming and helpful.

Horrible!! DO NOT RECCOMEND!! Extremely rude staff. (we requested some towels 12 times within a 5 day stay and nothing) Dirty and smelly facility's Not to mention many homeless around the area.

I must say my first impression walking in was how clean the lobby and room smelled. I really appreciated that!! Location was not the greatest, but it served its purpose for my business trip.

As someone whose very into aviation, the property being so close to MCAS Miramar was very nice

Simple accommodation but clean and friendly helpful staff. Nice complementary breakfast. Right off I15 so quick access to freeway but for obvious reasons not the quietest area. Good price and perfect for what I needed.

What began as a search for the cheapest options in the San Diego area, led me to this place - which while not fancy, was a great find at my price point. Room was clean, with ample device charging options, and brightly lit as well. The breakfast was picked over by the time I arrived (8:30a), but other than that no complaints.

The property is good but the breakfast is too boring; sausage and eggs everyday . It’s tiring to eat the same breakfast everyday, esp if you’re staying more than several days.

Upon arriving the night staff (I arrived at 10 PM) was busy watching the RV and was rude when I was checking in. Apparently I interrupted him as he stated. That was not a very good impression. Room was nice and comfortable. I didn't get to eat breakfast as the room is very small and over crowded I checked at 3 different times so unsure how the food was. The redeeming thing about the customer service was the female in the morning. Was very pleasant and upbeat.

The main reason why I booked with this hotel because of the hot breakfast. This is very important to us, that we did not need to go out and eat breakfast outside that will cut our time for enjoying the places we want to visit, .the food for breakfast was Excellent !!! Clean, delicious and complete hot eggs and sausages,,, waffle, toast, yogurt, cereals…bagels, juices and coffee and teas. . I also like that room equipped with refrigerator, microwave, iron, hair dryer, bed very comfortable with clean sheets. Front desk guys were so Nice and very attentive and accomodating !! Will come back and stay here when we have another vacation in San Diego.

The breakfast can be improved, quality and quantity. Wish there's an elevator.
