Easy access. Room was comfortable and roomy. Pool and hot tub weren't open due to renovations/cleaning, but we were notified ahead of time and room price was reduced accordingly. Good continental breakfast included. Close to a number of good restaurants (such as Red Lobster and Space Aliens!)

To start the check in we found out the pool is closed and the front office staff said it won't be back up any time soon. The reason we stayed at this hotel was the ratings and to allow our grandchildren to swim. The ability to adjust temperature in our room was horrible and when we down stairs for a drink, there was no vending what so ever. the case that holds refreshments was completely empty. We did not stay the second night because we so disgusted with the first night. Cost us a nights stay without being there but I refused to stay at this hotel ever again.

The desk staff did everything they could to fix the issues we had when we first checked in. The property was in a partial state of disrepair. (the only ice machine was on the 3rd floor due to broken ones everywhere else, outside there was limited parking, and the concrete for the disabled ramp on the rear parking lot was broken and flooded with no recent rain.) when brought to the staff's attention, the excuse was that they were going to remodel. Overall, the stay was as pleasant as could be with the above concerns.

We made the reservation based on the kids slide in the pool area with fountain… Arrived to find slide had been removed awhile back and fountain was inoperable. Traveling with an 8 and a 6 year old we really would’ve liked that to be there.

The pictures of amenities is not what we got. For example, the pool does not have a slide. The hot tub was out of order. There were no towels in the pool area at all. Many things were out of order, including one of the breakfast hot serving areas, which made options for food less. Our stay wasnt horrible, but some areas need to be fixed by maintenance and the photos on apps like Expedia should be updated so you get what you are expecting.

Desk clerk was excellent and very friendly, room was neat but the floor was dirty. The bathroom was kind of gross, the floor had food crumbs and hair. Two of my towels had hair on them and the shower wall had some random hairs.

Towel rack was broken and bathroom was not clean. Hairs in shower. Pubic hair on bathroom floor, corners weren’t clean. Beds were both sunk in, sqeaky, and bedding wasn’t laid properly. Tv sensor was behind dresser and could not be reached. Tv was stuck on CNN. The front desk clerk was coming to fix it but my husband said never mind. The room was not worth $190. -$200. That room was covered in dust, not a little layer but days worth of dust. Wallpaper in the halls coming off, carpets needed shampooing. We love staying at La Quinta but this was very poor. We’ve stayed at this location several times. That room should not have been rented out. Shame on the cleaning staff and maintenance people. Especially management for allowing the room with broken bathroom racks to be available to guests. I have pictures.

The room keys took 4 times to get the doors unlocked. The room bed comforter had blood stains on it. The shower had mold and human hair in it. The hallway carpets were stained. The hotel vibe was less than my expectations for La Quinta. I was very disappointed.

Our room was very dusty and dirty, with visible hair and pink bacteria in both tubs. The window was covered in hand prints. And the fully defrosted fridge had leaked a giant puddle into the carpet. Front desk staff was very friendly—except when we checked out, as the lazy woman behind the desk refused to print me a receipt. I left in annoyance. Would not book again.

My room had hair in multiple places, a dirty comforter and a crusty substance on the nightstand. I called the front desk and nicely asked for a clean comforter to which I was told Id have to go to the front desk to get. I was given another sheet instead of a comforter. Floor in the hallways were very dirty.

This hotel is deserving of its low 8+ rating. It is perfectly adequate and affordable but the room is a bit lacking. The mattress was way too soft and the heat would not work. The front desk staff, though, were courteous and professional.

Hotel felt pretty dated. The plaque at the wall on the check-in desk so there was established in 2010, and you could tell that no improvements have been made since then. Walked into our room to find the AC unit which made an incredibly loud noise, and kept me awake for a few hours before I was able to put in ear plugs and fall asleep.

Breakfast was very underwhelming. Limited options and was lukewarm. The pool had no waterslide like pictured and the pool area was so strong with chlorine fumes that we could not use it. Always happy to stay here. Very clean rooms, close to anything you need and the staff is always very nice and extremely helpful. This trip, we have to give Grace a huge pat on the back. We had a couple of issues with our room (tv wouldn’t work initially and our keys wouldn’t work after the first day), she was quick to help, even tho from what we could see, she was the only one working when we arrived. We definitely appreciated the help and she was very sweet!!

Made reservation months in advance and paid room in full. We had 5 individuals and booked room with 2 queens and a sleeper sofa. Arrived to check-in and told our room wasn’t available and that we’d been moved to a king room with sleeper. We stated that wouldn’t work with 5 adults. No other option. Reason given that our original room wasn’t available - cleaning staff left without cleaning several of the rooms and our room was one of them. Unbelievable. No apology, no offer of a discount if took other room, no offer to try to find us a different hotel. No room at 10 pm in a city with all hotels fully booked. Avoid this hotel. Extremely poor customer service with questionable business practices.

I was surprised that when I checked in there were multiple cops in the lobby with a guest. In the middle of checking me in the manager started yelling and looking very aggressive and mean at the guest who was with the cops. Then calmy finished checked me in. I have never seen anything like this and was very surprised of the unprofessionalism of this hotel manager. Afterwards there was a FB post made by the guest who was kicked out of the hotel with his four young children late at night. Comments showed that this was common with this manager at this hotel. Many previous workers complained about being treated unfairly and not being paid accurately. There were also claims that this hotel scams guests of extra unnecessary charges and does not tell the guests--they only find out after their credit cards have been charged. Then LaQuinta and this manager won't return phone calls when guests call to discuss the charges. Let's just say I'll never stay at this hotel again.

The experience was aweful, I arrived late that day just for them to say we dont have rooms because the rooms are not clean and they dont have anyone to do it. They knew early during the day but didnt bother to inform us. No apologies when we were told there is no rooms. Very unprofessional

We had reservations and completed online check-in early in the day. We showed up after 11pm since we were passing through only to discover they had no room available for us. Justin/ Manager gave us a room knowing that one of the TV's didn't work. We were treated very poorly because we booked with Expedia. We requested our room to be cleaned numerous times, but only cleaned once in six days. Justin told us it was because we booked thru Expedia. Would not recommend to anyone.

I enjoyed my recent stay at La Quinta. It was conveniently located right off the interstate and near the Capitol building. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Additionally, my room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Bismarck area.

Overall it was fine, but the carpet was stained and appeared so dirty that I didn't walk on it without shoes or socks. It was noisy because of being able to hear through the walls (could be better controlled by hotel) and my room was right by a busy road and interstate (not able to be controlled by the hotel.

Room:  I stayed in Room #424. The room was very clean and modern. There is both a deadbolt and U-bolt on the door. Everything was in good working order, and the bed was comfortable with clean linens. The only issue was the bathroom vent, which was very dusty and should be cleaned. Lobby & Cafeteria:  The lobby and cafeteria area could use more attention to cleanliness. The breakfast selection was underwhelming—only oranges were available as fruit. It would be nice to see options like apples or bananas. Additionally, there were no napkins out when I visited at 6:45 AM, and the eggs were already cold at that time. Location:  The location is excellent. There’s a gas station right in front and several food options within walking distance, including Hardee’s, Taco John’s, and Subway. There's convenient parking available, and while there are several hotels in the area, this one seems to be the best choice. It's also very close to the state capitol building, which I could see from my room.

The comp breakfast was excellent and well stocked, also plenty of room for the hotel guests for seating, and was also kept clean. There was an evening Managers appreciation meal in the evening of the two nights of our stay that was a very nice treat and also complementary. That was held on a Wed. and also a Thursday evening an totally unexpected.

Th breakfast was disappointing. There was no plates, no regular syrup for the waffles, the serving counter was dirty with food spilled all over it. The staff seemed overwhelmed but was trying very hard.

Everything was great except Breakfast. The first morning when we came down there was hardly any food out. The 2 girls in the back in charge of the food were laughing and dancing in the back not really concerned about making sure the food was full for the customers. They had to be told there was no food. The second morning was somewhat better. The juice machine was broken both days. Other than the breakfast the front desk was amazing, room was super clean and comfy.

The room was wonderful. The best wasn't to our liking, but perhaps it fits others needs. The reason for 3 stars for cleanliness is because the breakfast area was a disaster when we came down at 8. We know people stink and make messes, but food, batter, wrappers and paper cups all over the counter. We chose to go eat elsewhere.
