Site said check in was 3 pm when I arrived they said it was 4pm. Then was told I could park across the highway at an insurance office if there was no parking. They said they would call me when room was ready, they did not I had to call and ask housekeeping myself. Housekeeping was very friendly, front desk people were not at check in. Room has no access to outlets dining room table was broken plus not enough room to even utilize. No welcome books or anything in room. Coffee maker very old and no place to use. Refrigerator was not very cold. No ice on site both ice makers broken. No place to use toaster as well. Not enough cabanas to rent when we saw three still hanging, eventually was told they were broken. No handicap access to beach.

Very friendly and helpful staff no matter what time. The room was clean and well taken care of. You can see the ocean from any room. The pool was nice and the walk to the ocean was easy. The only down side was the parking lot. There was limited parking onsite, however they did have overflow parking across the street.

Check-in was quick, and the front desk receptionist seemed knowledgeable, though her attitude came off a bit short and not too friendly. Unfortunately, the AC wasn’t working properly- we had to set it to 60F just to get any cool air. The freezer section of the fridge didn’t work at all. To top it off, both elevators were down during our stay, and we were placed on the fifth floor, which made things especially inconvenient. Check out staff were very friendly - almost 180 from checking in. Hopefully these issues are addressed soon.

This was my 4th time staying here and I’m never disappointed. This isn’t a fancy place, it’s a bit dated but very clean. It’s a family environment, feels safe and very easy to get around . The beach is literally steps away- go in the morning. Afternoon, sunset, and in the dark! Experience it at any time. And if you forget something in the room or need to use the restroom, it’s an easy walk back to your room. The staff is 10/10- I was there the day after a storm and they had powers outages on and few cottages, staff was working overtime to get issues resolved. I saw them there swapping out TVs and taking care of maintenance issues well past 8pm. And even with all the pressure , they are still friendly and kind and don’t let it affect the guests. Rooms are a bit dated and you can see they’ve patched things up just about everywhere, rooms are a bit mildewy smelling but everything is very clean. Sheets are clean, beds are comfy and we had everthing we needed. I can’t wait to stay in a cottage in the future. I will continue to stay here!

We've stayed at tge Coral Sands in the past and thoriughly enjoyed our stays then. But the property is going downhill. Room 107. A musty, wet carpet odor greeted us when we opened the door along with a loud refrigerator noise. We asked for another room, possibly on the 2nd or 3rd floor. We were promised a third floor, Room 309 the next day and were asked to stay close abd be ready for the call to move - which never came. Tge next day, Brennen at the front desk could only say he was surprised the move didnt happen (he is the one who I had initially spoken with, the same person who never called). Then we discoved baby roaches crawling around on the bathroom floor at night and my wife commented the carpet felt moist. At check out the issues were apologized for but nothing offered to make it right. Needless to say, we wont be staying at the Coral Sands again in the future.

We are very happy and satisfied with this property. The price was great at the time of our trip. The room was nice with a great ocean view. I added a 3rd night after arrival and the staff worked with me to keep the same room. The room was clean and the atmosphere relaxing. The property was well kept and everything was relaxing. They had a nice relaxing gazebo that was close to the ocean. They had a nice pool and laundry room with snacks. Downsides were they didn’t have a mini hotel store and it wasn’t within walking distance to a store but that’s ok and we did see 1 roach in the room a few minutes after arrival but we didn’t see another the whole time and it’s Florida so those are small things. The beds were nice and comfy. The bathroom had a door. The shower and toilet were decent enough although the water was warmer at different times. All the other guests seemed like classy people and the town was a nice small beach town right down the road from a large city Daytona. We really enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning soon. Thanks to the hotel staff for great service. We picked a bad time to come with rain and hurricanes in the Atlantic and the gulf but they kept the pool open the whole time we stayed and we had a lot of fun. This is a great place to stay in a nice clean town. 5 stars!

This is a very old outdated hotel. Bathroom is in dire need of updating so it was difficult to tell if it was just old or dirty. Beds were comfortable. It is right on the ocean and the pool looked nice, though we did not use it. I would not stay here again.

The only thing that i did not like was the mold in the bathroom and kitchen area they had painted over it but it was pretty obvious there had been a leak in several places if the room.

This was a last minute booking. I was pleasantly surprised by EVERY aspect of the property. Clean, comfortable, steps away from the beach and friendly staff. This property will be our first choice when staying at Ormond Beach area!

Super firm bed, my husband is a little sore today (I'm fine). A little damp smelling, but it's by the ocean so that's normal. A little dated decor wise, but nothing terrible. Pretty clean, the tub didn't drain well and the paint is dinged up some, there was a soap mark on the vanity counter where it hadn't been wiped down after the previous guests. Lovely people in reception, nice pool (but why the two ropes across it?!) Beach access. Would definitely stay here again!

Front desk was nice and helped us get a mix up with booking taken care of easily. Be careful, "ocean view" doesn't mean the same as "ocean front" when booking. As long as you can see a speck of ocean, it means "ocean view." Place was clean. No balconies on hotel, no rooms facing ocean. Lawn outside of cottage was well kept. Only major issue for us was the bed. We didnt sleep at all in the king. Pillows were cheap and flat, covers are a sheet and thin quilt, bed was really bouncy if one moves the other gets tossed too. We both are sore from feeling springs for past couple nights. Advice: bring a topper and your own pillows.

The rooms are huge and very pretty. The small kitchenette had dishes along with the microwave and fridge. Every room in the hotel part has an ocean view. The ladies at the front desk were so friendly. Parking was plentiful and convenient. The views were beautiful and you walk straight out to the beach. The pool is huge. We thought it was supposed to be heated but it wasn't, but it felt great on a very warm day. The property is well kept and the grounds are beautiful. We love Florida and Ormond Beach will become a regular trip based on how much we liked this hotel and the area. We thought about booking at a "name brand" hotel, but the reviews on the Coral Sands were very high, and they are absolutely true. So glad we stumbled upon this gem!

Been there a few times. This time the checkin didn't happen until 5:15 pm and check in was 4pm. We arrived to use the pool and beach at 12noon. The front desk was not helpful this visit.

Last minute change of plans and we brought the dog. My reservation was for the hotel, but it does not allow pets inside. They upgraded us to a cottage next to the beach. The entire staff was very polite and friendly. Very much geared towards customer service. Would definitely recommend and revisit.

Was a great stay. Staff was wonderful. Debbie let us check in early. Rooms are comfortable and roomy. They are slightly outdated but the views and pool make up for that. It’s like a hidden gem. Will hopefully be back.

Check-in was quick, and the front desk receptionist seemed knowledgeable, though her attitude came off a bit short and not too friendly. Unfortunately, the AC wasn’t working properly- we had to set it to 60F just to get any cool air. The freezer section of the fridge didn’t work at all. To top it off, both elevators were down during our stay, and we were placed on the fifth floor, which made things especially inconvenient. Check out staff were very friendly - almost 180 from checking in. Hopefully these issues are addressed soon.

Absolutely amazing staff (special thank you to Renee ☺️) and lovely legendary-well kept ocean front property. We enjoyed views of the ocean, dolphins, baby crabs, birds and all of God's beauty ❤️ Wonderfully refreshing place to rest and renew - our new "go to place" in Ormond. We will return soon!!!

Overall the room was fairly clean and there was no problems with the room itself. The problems lie with the check in. I arrived at 11:15 PM and while that is late this is the first hotel I’ve been to that shuts down the lobby. This wouldn’t be a problem except it was cold, raining and windy. All the forms I had to sign to check in were drenched as well as my clothes. This is because you check in outside looking through a small window. Common sense from a receptionist would think maybe let this person in so they aren’t in the cold rain blowing sideways.

We were looking for a place to stay for 1 night after a cruise. We wanted to drive up the coast a bit before stopping and I found this hotel online. Based on reviews we booked and were so pleased with the accommodations. They let us check in 3 hours early which was so nice!! View of the ocean was awesome. Bed was comfortable, staff was so friendly, pool was great, I would definitely recommend

We came out for Labor Day weekend and what a great spot! Awesome property, great beach access, less crowded than other beaches but still close enough to shops and dining options. We will be back!!!

Loved the quaint, clean, comfortable room with a breathtaking view. Heated pool was nice too. Very relaxing, and many dining options within a short drive. Close proximity to Daytona Beach. The only thing missing from this hotel to make it perfect, is a breakfast option, and maybe an updated coffee bar for guests, in the lobby. Not my first time, and won’t be my last visit! Thank you!

Front desk was nice and helped us get a mix up with booking taken care of easily. Be careful, "ocean view" doesn't mean the same as "ocean front" when booking. As long as you can see a speck of ocean, it means "ocean view." Place was clean. No balconies on hotel, no rooms facing ocean. Lawn outside of cottage was well kept. Only major issue for us was the bed. We didnt sleep at all in the king. Pillows were cheap and flat, covers are a sheet and thin quilt, bed was really bouncy if one moves the other gets tossed too. We both are sore from feeling springs for past couple nights. Advice: bring a topper and your own pillows.

Coral Sands is a nice older hotel. Service was great, pool was nice and access to the beach is steps away. Rooms were clean and bed was okay. The bathrooms could use some updating. They had food trucks come a few days which was a nice extra.

Not a luxurious resort, with on-site activities... But there are plenty of places around to go to. There is not a restaurant, but there are grocery stores and restaurants of plenty in the area. The rooms are clean, and so many of the hotels and motels around do not measure up.

We always stay at Coral Sands whenever we visit Ormond Beach, It's a lovely hotel right on the beach with a pool. The views are awesome. The rooms are clean, comfortable and every one of them face the water. They have had some maintenance issues like the elevator that has not been operational for at least a year but overall, the property is well maintained.
