The property is really big and I felt really safe in and near the property. The staff was also really good and the people who were staying in the hotel were also polite and very friendly to us. The breakfast was good, but more options always encouraged. We really the facilities, the swimming pool and hot tub was really nice but I felt that there was a lot of chlorine in the swimming pool.

We love visiting Stowe when going on a motorcycle ride. Needed a cute affordable hotel to stay. Found this hotel with inside pool, hot tub, sauna and breakfast included. Just a cute location and in the back they have chairs to watch the stream

This property is a hidden gym. Very well maintained and I love the swimming pool and hot tub. Michael and Shannon are amazing and very kind. The best part is that the bus stop for the free shuttle on Mountain Road is just opposite the lodge. If you plan well, you can use it to go all the way up to the ski resort as well as all the major places like cold Hollow cider Milland everywhere else

We had a terrific stay here. We deeply appreciated Northern Lights Lodge 's complimentary level 2 EV charging and we were thrilled they powered it with a solar canopy. Very environmentally friendly way to do it and that helps preserve Stowe's natural beauty. Great breakfast, great service. Couldn't be happier with our stay.

We arrived late, after 8pm, and it was no problem. Room was clean and comfortable. Other guests were quiet and there was no noise issue. We didn't take advantage of the indoor pool, but it looked warm and clean. Breakfast was great. Over all, stay was excellent. Definitely would recommend this motel.

Great accommodations. The innkeepers were friendly. Property was clean, safe and quiet. We stayed in the one bedroom efficiency with a family of 5. Breakfast was wonderful. The stream behind the property was peaceful. We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pool as well as the game room. Highly recommend and we hope to return some day.

We were amazed by how well maintained this facility is. Cleanliness is top notch.The rooms are exactly as it was in the pictures and the rest of the amenities are well kept and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and hot tub and a little game room for the kids. Everything was just wonderful. Staff are all very nice too. It's a place we will definitely go back to and recommend.

Very basic motel. Advertises made to order breakfast, but only offers choices of scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs & sausage, yogurt & granola, and muffins/scones. Would’ve liked some other protein options for someone who can’t eat eggs. Our room was located near the door for the indoor pool & ice machine, so there was a lot of heavy footed traffic past our room all night/morning. Probably would not stay again as the hotel next door was much nicer.

While the building is dated, we were impressed by the cleanliness of the pool and hot tub and the size of the bedroom. The bathroom was tiny. Grab and go breakfast was made to order. Fruit and bread for toast were freely available. Coffee and tea were also freely available. I would recommend this to someone traveling through.

We were on the road side and heard traffic all night. Kind of bummed they could not accommodate parking our bike trailer within our sight seeing as we had an e-bike and e-trike valued over $6000. We had to park right out front by the main road in view of every passing car. Other than that, clean room, comfortable bed, breakfast was made to order and just ok. Just a fridge in the room. No microwave etc. looks better than the exterior as some sprucing up would make it look more appealing but nice on the inside.

Before we checked into our room we went grocery shopping and purchased alot of microwavable food, after we checked in and got to the room we were surprised to see there wasnt a microwave. Front desk said no units had microwaves and i could use the one in breakfast area, which was very inconvenient and a long walk everytime we wanted to eat. We met someone there they were in the other building and they had microwaves, i found this confusing and i felt like paying 130 a night we should have a microwave like them

I booked 4 nights at Northern Lights Lodge near Stowe but had to leave after just 2 nights due to the horrendous air quality, noise, and total lack of guest care. The room smelled like an old, moldy barn. Even with my own high-powered air purifier running 24/7, I still had allergic reactions. The window A/C unit did nothing to help. The air was so thick and stale that I had to take Benadryl both nights just to sleep. And even that didn’t help with the noise. A child in the room next door woke us up at 6:30 a.m. both mornings, running wild down the hall and banging around like a pinball. We complained to management three separate times, and nothing was done. The walls were basically cardboard — zero soundproofing. After two sleepless nights and constant discomfort, we had to check out early. I reached out to both Hotels.com and the property. Hotels.com only gave me a $100 e-cash credit, and the lodge refused to refund the unused nights, even though it was fully within their power to do so. This place is a rundown, low-end “lodge” that should honestly be torn down and rebuilt. If you have any allergies, value basic sleep, or care about guest service, do not stay here. Even a cabin would be better — at least you'd know what you're getting. Terrible experience. Never again.

Actually, I did not stay. I had made a reservation for the wrong dates - I was so upset. It looked lovely. The manager was so helpful in helping us find another hotel and was willing to drop any fees incurred. My reservation was nonrefundable. He spoke with a representative from Hotel.com and all fees were dropped, I did not have to pay for my wanted stay. I highly recommend this lodge - beautiful with excellent service. I am so grateful to the manager.

Northern Lights was a diamond in the sky. This little gem was so clean it squeaked. The owners were kind and helpful. There were homemade touches which made us feel like we had stepped back in time to a day when Innkeepers were there to take travelers into their home and make you feel like they wanted you there.

Innkeepers live on property (huge plus). Shannon is a wealth of knowledge about the area and provided spot-on recommendations for our quirky interests: finding a farm-to-table restaurant (The Bench, great variety and impressive brewery choices) and a history buff’s “must-see” (Smugglers’ Notch Cave and State Park, see *Note at end). In addition to historical CCC structures and the Cave, the state park also has great facilities for folks who want to pitch a tent and explore nature. HUGE thank you to Shannon, without whom we would have missed this experience, beginning with that beautiful winding mountain pass drive through the Notch (definitely bumps up the adrenaline). *Note: Smugglers’ Notch historical importance/impact spans multiple centuries and includes crucial trade with Canada to survive Jefferson’s embargo act, a route for slaves escaping to freedom in Canada, and smuggling during the prohibition era (1920s-30s).

This was a last minute stay for us, and the owners were so kind to us at check-in. They were very empathetic and re-assuring after a stressful day had brought us to their hotel. They provided local recreation suggestions and have great directions. Our room was clean and quiet even during a busy weekend. Modern fixtures in the bathroom and staples in the room. Breakfast was served to order by a very friendly staff. I could not have landed in a better spot. Thank you Northern Light! I’d come back any day.

Good service, fair rate, nice grounds. The rooms are small and sparse but perfect for home base as you step out in the morning and return after dinner. Location is great - close to the center of town, trails and the river is right behind the property. Free breakfast is great, pool was clean and the vibe chill.

Our stay at Northern Lights Lodge in Stowe was excellent. The views were beautiful and the breakfast was fresh and delicious every morning. One thing I’d suggest is adding a microwave for guests, since most restaurants nearby close early and the ones open are mostly pubs or Italian spots, not ideal if you need halal or affordable options and don’t want to drive 20–30 minutes. Still, the lodge itself is amazing and highly recommended!

Breakfast was setup oddly but was ok. Instead of the exact same eggs every morning for 4 days it would have been interesting to have have pancakes or french toast as an option with maybe maple syrup...i mean it is in Vermont. Other than that it was great! Rooms were very clean you do get some hallway noise but all in all it was good. Rooms are definitely dated but nice. Bus to Stowe Ski resort was very convenient.

Last minute overnight in Stowe and this place was great. Basic but clean rooms. We wished we could have stayed longer to take advantage of the pool, sauna and hot tub. The complimentary breakfast wasn’t amazing, but is a really nice added perk. Would definitely stay here again.
