Property was nice and the staff was incredibly sweet and helpful. Pool needed some maintenance so we didn't swim but would stay here again. Hopefully the pool is open next time!

We had a good stay here. Check in was a little rough, took awhile to get checked in, only had 1 working computer and a line of people at 4:00. Took longer when some of the other guests had an issue so that made all us others waiting wait even longer. The rooms very clean. Sheets and bed clean. Smelled clean no odor. Breakfast very basic offerings. Coffee good. Pool nice and clean. Did have to ask for more towels only supplied bathroom with 2. Staff nice and helpful. Would help if they had black out curtains hard to sleep with lights lighting up room all night. Heard no noise it was quite. Would stay again.

No change machine for laundry machine

This hotel is good if you are just looking for somewhere to sleep. Front office staff was friendly. The rooms were ok but smelled weird. The pool was absolutely disgusting. Looked like it hadn’t been cleaned all summer. Disappointing for us because my kids love swimming and it ruined their excitement when I wouldn’t let them go in. The pool was green. The breakfast was not as good as what previous reviews claimed to be. We will not be going back.

Nice older hotel but could definitely benefit from having a decent working ice machine.

Hotel has been freshly painted. Parking lot is well lighted and taken care of. Smoking allowed only outside. Continental breakfast had good variety. Pool was nice. Beds were comfy but very high off floor. You may want to pack a foldable step to help get in bed and/or dog steps for fur babies. Floors swept but not always mopped. So slippers,socks or flip flops recommended. Supply of shampoo, conditioner, soap, coffee and cups is good. Ice machine is hit or miss. Linens were clean and smelled fresh. AC was ice cold. Pet charge was lower than many other hotels. Blackout curtains in rooms. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Property is nicely kept and swimming pool was very clean. If this propwrty had a hot tub it would be a 5.

Our stay was very enjoyable. Rooms were clean, bed were comfortable. For being a small Hotel the pool was very nice .

The breakfast was only waffles and old dry bagel and old tasteless apples. There was no ice on the property b/c they said their ice machine broke. The sheets were "sandy" and very rough. The bathroom was dirty and the tub took a few hours to drain, leaving guests to wait hours before they could shower. The pool area smelled very bad and stunk and the pool water was murky brown. The price was very high and we were very, very disappointed and will NEVER stay there again!!!

The room floor was filthy! The bathroom floor was filthy, the toilet seat was filthy. The breakfast bar was good and well stocked. The lady up front was nice and said she would take care of the issue with the room. I didn’t ask for a refund but felt as though she should have offered to comp something off of it. Only really giving the feedback so that the cleaning staff actually does their job and cleans the floors. Around the bed on the floor as just dirt. We had to walk around with our socks on.

Stayed at this location this past weekend. T.V screen was blue the entire weekend, we couldn’t fix it in setting. The head board was dirty it could have been wiped down. The towels were folded and appeared clean but when we opened them to use them, they were dirty and stained. Not the stay I was expecting.

Upon arrival, room was unsanitary and nasty. The bedding on both beds were stained, as was majority of the towels, and the shower curtain. BUG INFESTED. Hotel does not have routine housekeeping. If you want your room cleaned, you must request it only from 10AM-2PM, but even then there is a list. If the list is full for the day, you will not be serviced. Since bedding was disgusting, asked for new bedding and it was eventually replaced as was the towels to only be replaced with MORE DIRTY sheets and towels. It is as if they don’t believe in doing laundry. The shower was clogged, took approximately ten minutes for the water in the shower to completely drain after each shower. Don’t recommend. No matter what, do not waste your time, money, or breath staying here. Wish I could give 0 stars.

Roaches in room, mold on ceiling, restroom smelt like urine. Would not recommend this hotel.

Good location. The room was filthy!!!! The pillow cases had fresh stains on them, there was black hair all over the beds, there was some sticky red stuff all around the counter on the sink and a used wash cloth in the bathroom. There were no towels and when I got some, they were damp. The floor was so nasty, we did not put anything but our shoes on the ground

I had previously stayed here once. It was nothing special but affordable and clean on that occasion. After my most recent stay, I will no longer stay here again. ISSUES IN ORIGINAL ROOM BOOKED Moldy & Leaky Kitchenette—Our room had an overwhelming smell of mold. Upon looking under the kitchen sink, it was evident that a large amount of water was leaking under the sink, which was the source of the horrible smell that started making our throats scratchy. (Photo included) White Substance on Bed- A white substance was on the bed skirt. I have no way of knowing what it was, but after seeing it, it's hard to imagine it as being anything other than bodily fluid. (Photo included) Dirty Floors- Upon wiping some water off the floor, it was also evident that the floors in this unit had not been cleaned in a very long time. (photo included) ISSUES IN THE NEW ROOM Due to availability, the motel moved us to another room without a kitchenette. Thankfully, we had not gone grocery shopping, so this was not a huge deal. However, a room without a kitchen is cheaper than a room with one, so we were told we had to deal with this price difference through Expedia. More on that later. MORE FILTH- The new room did not smell like mold but was still disgusting. The walls had never seen a cleaning rag. There was yet another drip on the bathroom wall, this time reddish brown that resembled blood. This room had not been deeply cleaned in a very long time. Something creepily dripped from the elect

Bed was made nice but our floor was really sandy as if no one vacuumed or mopped. Shower had mold tv didn’t work

The room appeared clean at first glance, but there was hair left in the tub, drain, on the towel, in the bed, and in the sheets. The floors felt damp. There was a sign saying a dehumidifier was in the room and we would be charged $300 of it was missing upon checkout, but our room did not have one. The AC unit would not work properly. I kept trying to lower the temperature and raise the fan speed but the buttons didn’t work more than half the time and the ac would just change back to the previous setting on its own. The was also a weird whiteish stain/spot on the sheets of one of the beds. I’m sure it’s a generally nice place, but it wasn’t a good experience for us. My truck was also hit in the middle of the night while parked in front of the front office, but their cameras were pointed at the ground and I was told there was no footage available.

This hotel has changed since 2021, which was the last time we stayed there. The entire grounds are unkept, the ac units run very badly, towels smell unwashed, and there was hair everywhere. This will be the 5th time we’ve stayed at this hotel and this time will be the last. Not sure what happened to the original owners but we were very saddened on how bad it’s become.

Staff seemed okay, not much interaction other than check in. Area was convenient traveling to the beach. Room in my opinion was very dirty floors felt crumby, you could see the dirt around the perimeter of the beds, after a shower I dragged my feet on a towel and the towel was VERY dirty. There was food under the drain plug in the sink. Black spots that may or may not be mold on the edges of the mattress cover. I would love to feel a nice clean and comfy place they really dropped the ball on cleanliness.

The Island Hotel Staff was very friendly and the cost is very affordable. The bed was a little firmer than I like but clean. The door to the room needs a weather strip. It was closed completely at the bottom of the door frame but you could basically see the parking lot through the upper side part of the door frame. The curtains are not close enough to the wall/window so the light from the outside shined into the room over the top of the curtains. I like the dark when I sleep. The AC worked great. We had plenty of clean towels. The hotel provided shampoo, conditioner, soap, ect. Their is a small mini-fridge and microwave but no safe. The breakfast is very simple. The only "hot" option is making yourself a waffle. Otherwise it is cereal, muffins, bagel, yogurt fruit, juices and coffee. Even with the hard bed and the light I would still recommend this hotel if you are on a budget. Stayed here many times.

I thought they were very attentive and friendly. They could use some upgrades to their rooms. They seem to be a little outdated.

The wall AC unit kept going off so.It' got hot a few times in the middle of the night

Room 226, advertised as a queen economy for $230 a night when I booked had a makeshift full sized bed and really the bare essentials. The lady at the desk had the gall to tell me hotel queen beds were smaller than regular queen beds. The sheets, while clean, were stained. The pillows were god awful uncomfortable. The bed could literally be moved around the room and the headboard wasn’t attached and fell. The shower curtain was stained. The only light that worked was in the bathroom. The TV didn’t work. None of the outlets in the “bed area” worked. The only outlet that worked was in the “kitchenette” area which had a fridge and microwave plugged into it so I had to unplug one of those to be able to plug my phone charger in. There was an alarm clock but again, you would have had to unplug the fridge or microwave to be able to use it. The shower was fine. The AC worked great. Otherwise, it should be a crime to charge that much for a room like that. I’ll never stay here again.

Stayed in suite B. Highway noise was bad- had to buy a fan to block out noise at night. AC struggled to keep up with heat. The pet area was full of stickerburs 🙁.

The pictures of the suite on Expedia showed a balcony. So I got that because I was wanting a balcony. The suite we were put in did not have a balcony at all. The ole bait and switch. The floors were dirty, there was a crack in the front door which allowed all noise to come through. The fan in the first room didn't work and didn't have a light just a wire. The kitchen light didn't work and was extremely dim. The dining table was about to fall apart if any weight was put onto it. Definitely not a place to spend $300 a night. Overall disappointing and won't book there again

My name is Steve Beardsall and I have stayed at Island Hotel in the past and always enjoyed stay and have even recommended hotel many times. This stay I was unsatisfied with the upkeep of hotel. I told Tracy at front desk on Tuesday refrigerator was not working right and only had hot water in shower. They NEVER came to fix things. Had to throw away all my food and showered sparingly so as not to get burnt. Also, the smoke detector wasn't working and then fell from ceiling almost hitting my wife. I will be posting my view on facebook so that others don'tmake the same mistake we did and stay at this hotel.

They would not let you check in early. If a room was available, they would charge a $50 early check in fee. Check in is at 4pm, we arrived around 10am and asked to be contacted when our room was ready. Got a call around 2pm that the room was ready, but if we attempted to check in before 3:30pm we would have to pay an early check in fee of $50. It seemed ridiculous. Maybe if we asked to have the room ready ASAP my maid service, then I could understand the fee. But a ready and unoccupied room…..

We arrived to town early and exhausted, Tracy was fantastic and got us in early! Super sweet lady! Our AC encountered an issue and they immediately put us in a different room, an upgrade and we were VERY comfortable! The property is close enough to everything without being in any busy or congested areas. We were very happy here and felt safe. Will definitely be back. Thank you Tracy and staff!

Stayed in Port A for 4 days with my husband, and just wanted a clean comfy place to shower and sleep. This place met all my expectations, had great front desk service, and was quiet. Will definitely stay again.

My husband and I checked in on Friday July 18th with our grandson. We arrived at around 6:30 pm. We had issues from the moment we arrived. The key card didn't work. Called the office, they said we needed to go down and have the key cards reprogrammed. My husband went down, came back, it still didn't work. We called again, were told the lock probably needed a new battery. We had planned on resting from our 3 hour drive, then getting in the pool. We didn't end up making it to the pool until after 8pm because we had to wait for them to come change the battery. Tested the card, it worked. Coming back from the pool, we're stuck outside our room at 10 o'clock at night because the key card again doesn't work. We called the office AGAIN, they say they'll have to replace the whole lock. We were up until after 12:30 am with our room door open and the maintenance guy trying to get the lock replaced. This morning, Saturday as we're leaving to go to the beach, my husband closes the door and the door handle comes off in his hand. He sticks it back on and we called AGAIN. We're told they will send someone to fix it. I called in the evening to check the status and I'm told they fixed the handle but the card is still not 100% working. They tell me once we get back from the beach, stop by the office for new key cards and so the maintenance man can meet us and show us " the trick" to getting into our room. There shouldn't need to be a "trick"! We got ZERO empathy from management.

Tracy the manager was wonderful! We checked in around 9pm and There were 2 people trying to help with the door lock problem, they were very helpful but one of them was either drunk or high. My whole family felt uncomfortable around him.

The staff were super accommodating and super friendly! They really made the stay as stress free as could be!!

Island Hotel Port Aransas is a clean budget friendly hotel. The grounds were clean, the pool was clean (though the mosquito's were bad) and the room was cold and clean. Beach is a few minutes drive away and so are all the bars and restaraunts.

Clean rooms and friendly staff. It was convenient to beaches and things to do in the area.

A lovely place for an excellent price. Great location - close to the beach and numerous great restaurants.

Great place and location. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is a few minutes from the center of the town but for us that’s perfect. It’s nice to have a nice quiet place at the end of a full beach day.

Beds were clean and the cleaning service is great. They do t automatically clean so you do have to request ahead of time. Tub stopper was broken and I like to be able soak so that was a point deduction for me. Breakfast was included and has typical dry cereals, toasts, bagels, yogurt, juice, and waffles that you make yourself. The toaster didn’t work and only one waffle maker was working so if you’re ok with waiting 30-40 minutes to make waffles then you would have hot waffles.

Very clean and not crowded. Only complaint was the young kids talking and yelling from 3:30-5:30 AM above us . Breakfast area was very roomy but literally coffee and toast / pancakes .

There were some insects in our room crawling around near the bathroom area . And I wish there was some eggs or more protein in the breakfast set up . Yogurt, hard boiled eggs would go along way to help us gey a solid meal before leaving . It was high in carbs and sugar . That’s all the staff was pleasant and beds comfortable thank you we will stay again

Miss Tracy is the best. She is warm, friendly, caring, and still very professional. She always greets us with a smile and a pleasant voice. Plus, they have a great, free breakfast.
