We have stayed at Burlington Bay several times, and always have a wonderful time. The condo was very clean with an amazing view! The kids love the pool, and we all enjoy the hot tub. We will be staying again in the future

No hot water in room so jacuzzi was useless. Both mornings of our stay the hot water worked for the first 30 seconds in the shower then turned cold. Decor is dated. Condo was comfortable and spacious with lovely views but the lack of hot water really ruined things. Also the elevator was broken one day so we had to use stairs, not terribly inconvenient for us but if anyone with disabilities needed an alternative there wasn't one, only 1 elevator in building. Indoor pool area is in terrible need of repairs. Large filthy puddles form in areas where the floor tile appears to be sinking. Much of the tile is very slippery. Will not be returning.

Location is what makes this hotel great, it’s on the beach which is wonderful! They have lawn games and hot tubs and pools were great. Rooms are not kept up and overall needed some tlc, but it’s fairly clean

The property is equal parts upscale & Minnesota charming, with its smores kits, rock painting & fire pits. The woman working the desk was informative, the parking convenient to our room, and the fireplace welcoming. As someone who does a lot of fine dining in cities across the country, the restaurant was unexpected in its elegant decor, fantastic view, great food & wine list. There was minimal staff, as we were there mid-week, but we never felt neglected.

Too much noise every night like elephants running around, wasn’t a pleasant stay at all. The room is very outdated, I thought the dishwasher was like a big truck taking off. Maybe new appliances would be nice, not trying to be mean but this will make you improve some of the things to provide better stay n better service. The staff were amazing. The pool n hot tub was amazing until rowdy kids came n started horseing around n we had to leave. The gym was very nice.

The rooms are great. Both indoor and out door pool options are great. Lots of fire pits with complimentary smore kits. There's a beautiful beach area. Wish we could stay another night.

Pool floor was dirty and unclean. The jet in the hot tub was not working. The floor in the hotel room smelled of old rags. The guest in the upper unit was nosiest. I could hear furniture being moved around and the whirlpool running the middle of the night.

The room was great! It was clean, the fireplace and jacuzzi were the cherry on top. Staff were friendly. What a fantastic weekend with my wife! We will definitely be back!

The king suite was perfect for our overnight stay in the Duluth area. We really liked the fireplace, the jacuzzi, the comfortable bed, and the large windows. While the place is dated and there was a fair amount of popcorn on the hallway floors (haha) it was a clean room. Staff was friendly and the hot cocoa/coffee/popcorn bar in the lobby was a nice treat. Had it not been brutally cold, we would've enjoyed the outdoor seating and firepits. I would gladly return to stay again.

We had reserved a room at the main building, with a balcony that had a view of the lake. We were charged for the room the same day that we reserved the above mentioned room. When we arrived, we did not get a room at the main building, we were told by the receptionist (who we had a hard time understanding) that there wasn’t a room for us available in the main building. We were assigned a room, in building #5 room #105, at a different location about a mile away. When we got to the room, we found out that the room was on the ground floor, without a balcony or patio and with a view of pine trees that blocked view of the lake. The toilet did not work properly and we had to flush it several times each time it was used. The exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work and the sink would not drain properly. And to top it off, there was black mold on the inside shower curtain. When we wanted to have dinner, we had to drive back to the main building. The restaurant was very nice and served excellent food and very good service. It was a nice place to stay, but it would have been better if we had received what we had reserved and paid for. We stayed at a different hotel the day before at half the price, with a mold free bathroom and a room that we had reserved.

Booked hotel through Hotels.com and was unhappy that a $35 “resort fee” was added to my bill, not disclosed until the reservation was done and my card was already charged. When I asked about the fee on check in all the things I was told it provided (pool, coffee in rooms, games in lobby…) are available at other hotels without added fee. Hotel is needing updating, decor was dingy, carpets and windows are worn. Ceiling fan in room had a visible layer of dust. I would not recommend this place for lodging.

Hotel is using electronic door systems with passcodes that don’t work. Got locked out of our room multiple times and had to wait for maintenance or get a new code. TV didn’t work in our room. Struggle because it was a beautiful location and the rooms were good for the most part. We also found beer cans behind the TV stand when trying to get the tv to work… so how well was it cleaned.

The front desk staff weren't friendly; no smiles, no eye contact, rushed through telling us about amenities, didn't tell us about the nightly activities or how to attend them. I just happened to see a sign as we were exiting the lobby. The building and its decor is showing its age and could use a refresh. The room was clean except for the glass balcony door (dog paw and nose smears) and cobwebs and spiders in every window and corner of the room.

Super outdated! They say the camera adds 10 pounds, well the photos added 10-stars because it was not near as nice looking in person as the photos. They do not offer daily room service, you need to request it. The communical facilities were filthy. They were never cleaned the four days we were there. The same dead bugs in the same spots. Literally tile falling off the walls. Stains and nasty spills that were just left and never cleaned up. There was a massive water leak in the lobby, that was being collected with garbage cans and forget about the restaurant on site. They charge $125 for their "best steak". Not sure how they can justify having that expensive of a restaurant and that poor of facilities. Also, my key to my room never worked consecutively, so everytime i left my room and went back to it, it became deactivated and i had to go to the front desk to have them set it back up, and i was on the 3rd floor, so that was super inconvenient, especially having two young kids. I will say the gal at the front desk that appeared to be there literally every hour of every day was really nice. My guess is they are running on a skeleton staff and they dont have much for a maintenance department. Unfortunately, I wouldn't stay there again. And i hate saying that, but for the amount of money we spent on that place, i just couldnt justify doing it again given the condition of the property.

We rented a waterfront three bedroom. The description never explained that one of the bedrooms is not attached to the actual condo- it has a separate entrance. The water view is great. The shower pressure was good. Rooms were clean. The quality of the linens / towels were disappointing. No outlets by the bed were most people would need to plug in their phones

Could hear every crack and foot step from above and next door. We stayed on first floor, the parking lot lighting shined very bright through the sides of the curtain making it hard for me to stay asleep. Provided cold breakfast bar.

Great setting - beautiful views- spacious 2 bdm unit but the rooms are very “tired” need some renewing and upgrades. In one room only one bedside had a lamp and only one had outlets to plug in phone. No luggage racks in any if 3 bedrooms we rented. The deck was in need of repair and we felt a bit unsafe on it. The railing was rickety and moving a bit- wood on deck was old and worn . It is a place that could Be very nice and probably was when first opened, but is now in need of some updates and renovations.

We came for a weekend stay. I brought family to enjoy the resort while I was doing some volunteer work nearby. When we checked in, they put us in a completely different room type than we booked. It was old and run down with a lot of wall damage, holes in the shower surround poorly filled with caulking, a pedestal sink in a tiny bathroom, and two full-size beds. They said the unit we booked had been “sold”. It took me a while to understand they actually had sold the condo we had reserved that day. And they didn’t have anything else comparable for us. I asked to have a manager follow up, and by noon the next day they still hadn’t. We got a refund and left the property. We found a nice cabin at Great Superior Lodge. It was much better! I would strongly advise staying away from the very tired Superior Shores Resort.

The property was fine but I was forced to make two separate reservations when I needed to add a night. This created problems like our key not working for the second night. Then there was no one at the desk to help us with this so we had to go in search of help. Not t sure why we just couldn’t add a night. The hotel said had to go through Expedia and they said had to have two separate resets. Awkward!

Front desk lady wasn’t very helpful, asked for someone to check tv, but no one ever came. hallways could use lights and room a few updates. Restaurant was great! View also!

Check in was uneventful although took longer than expected. Two people at the desk, three people besides myself waiting. Someone was just interested in seeing the facilities and one of the people behind the desk just walked away and showed them around. Felt they should have taken care of paying people waiting first.

Poor Service. Access code for room was wrong. Called registration, kept getting transferred from department to deptartmentTo another then was told someone would call us right back. Never happened. After a 1/2 hour a maintenance person came a & let us in with his code. Later a man brought us a new access code that worked. Services & directions for TV, fireplace & jet hot tub were absent. Small coffee maker had 2 pkgs of horrible coffee. No Service people in the Burlington Bay bldg. A shame that a beautiful facility did not provide better service.The pool area and sauna were great. We did not know that we would not be in the main Superior Shores facility until we got there.

Liked lake view, S’mores and fire pits. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. No street light to help mark entrance into Burlington Bay. Hard to see at night. Room darkening blinds would be nice. Never did get the in room fire place to work, in spite of the best effort by the maintenance person. Desk staff offered rate discount to compensate for lack of fire place. Good spot for agate hunting. We would stay here again, but a few adjustments could make it better.

Friendly Staff…View from room exceptional! It is an older hotel, but I feel it has charm! Room was clean… nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of Duluth.

Location is what makes this hotel great, it’s on the beach which is wonderful! They have lawn games and hot tubs and pools were great. Rooms are not kept up and overall needed some tlc, but it’s fairly clean

Honestly the room was expensive for the time of year. The hotel didn't appear to be even close to full and we were never offered a room with a lake view. The dinning room was way overpriced and I bar. Not a comfortable nice dinning experience. I was disappointed for the cost. I feel I should be compensated

Stayed 4 nights, room was never refreshed. Asked Rolf for clean towels when we were leaving for the day, came back around 5pm, still hadn't gotten any fresh towels and ended up taking bags off the cleaning cart and bagging up our own wet/dirty towels and placing the bags near the cleaning cart. Front desk didn't seem very concerned about that (again Rolf). Room in general outdated, the living room furniture was not comfortable at all. Nice location but generally disappointing. Restaurant staff very nice, food a little disappointing. A "quesadilla" was there wonton wrappers. The lamb was great.

Property was good, clean comfortable. Enjoyed a relaxing evening by the fire pit out front. The restaurant was very good. I enjoyed my light dinner there. My thought is a less formal dining area with separate bar area. I didn't feel it fit the rest of the decor nor the surrounding area. It would have been nice to have a cocktail after 9pm, other than the the "sidewalks" rolling up early.

Clean, comfortable rooms. I believe his name was Fernando, he was a waiter in the restaurant, he was wonderful both nights we were in there. Attentive, but not hovering, friendly, informative, a real pleasure.

We were pleasantly surprised by this resort. The staff were kind, the hotel is aging but very clean, it was quiet and the location was fantastic. Shocked by how few customers the restaurant had because the vibe is beautiful and the food was delicious (highly recommend the avocado toast or the chilaquiles on the breakfast menu) We will definitely stay here again

The property is equal parts upscale & Minnesota charming, with its smores kits, rock painting & fire pits. The woman working the desk was informative, the parking convenient to our room, and the fireplace welcoming. As someone who does a lot of fine dining in cities across the country, the restaurant was unexpected in its elegant decor, fantastic view, great food & wine list. There was minimal staff, as we were there mid-week, but we never felt neglected.

For the price, we were not impressed. Although the outside areas were nice, our room was very basic. There was no room to get ready by the bathroom sink, the coffee was not good, and no free breakfast in the morning. We had to go downstairs to get coffee from the lobby, and there was no half and half, which is how I like my coffee. It also wasn’t available until 7:30am or so (we are early risers). The restaurant was overpriced, but did have a nice view of the lake. We will look for a VRBO or Airbnb next time.

-Appears to be a restaurant remodel which looked great and food was great. -Main lodge rooms very outdated. Very old fixtures (lights, fan, microwave, tv, bathroom, etc) -Little things like weeds in landscaping, ruts in grass, mildew on tile in pool area. -Service was good, location is great, beach was great, yard games were good touch. -Was just ok when I factor in everything and would likely spend my money elsewhere to try another place.
