My boyfriend and I stayed for New Year's Eve. Everyone was very friendly. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was VERY good and we really enjoyed the bar downstairs and the entertainment was great. I would love to go back when we can spend at least 2 nights and enjoy walking around Boonville. If I would change one thing, it would be the parking. It was a bit of a challenge but workable.

Its an amazing place to stay. Mixture of beautiful up to date rooms with all the old western charm in the public areas. Awesome restaurant main floor, speak easy basement bar. We will be back.

It was an old hotel (1905) and has history in the Boonville area. Always intrigued about it. We were visiting relatives in Boonville and decided to stay at the historical place. The dinner was good in the evening. No hot water in shower in the morning. They gave an adjustment on the bill. The place is old, but nice. They do need to put safety grab bars in the showers. It's on the Katy Trail and lots of bikers. Some pretty good places to venture to as the town is on the Missouri River with lots of history about.

The only problem I had is when I got up to use the bathroom I stepped on a nail that was sticking up through the hardwood floor and it punctured the ball of my right foot. When we checked out I told the lady at the desk about the incident and she said- they would have to look i to it or something along that line - she was not really concerned about the injury. I feel it could have been handled a little better.

Overall a good stay. Room was a little dusty but otherwise nice. Only issue I had was with the restaurant. Ordered a steak which was good tasting but knife was very dull. Next time I’ll bring my own. Staff was great. Friend had the chicken and thought it was outstanding and she very much enjoyed the stay.

We had no hot water in the room. We were informed by Lidiya that there was no one available to fix the problem until that evening. We had to attend a 7:00 am departure time to attend a graduation, and we could not take a shower before we left.

I was pleasantly surprised by this adorable hotel. The food was AMAZING, as was the service. We only stayed one night as we were passing through, but if you appreciate places with character, this is a great spot. The bathroom situation in our room was… weird? Basically a bathroom inside a shower, with an odd choice of “slightly too small” shower curtain providing a little less privacy than I’d like when sharing the room with 3 other people, but it was amusing, if nothing else. The bathroom sink definitely had some pressure issues (as in there was almost none) which might have been more of a problem if there wasn’t an additional sink in one of the sleeping areas. There was also a full powder room in the hallway just outside our room, so it was more amusing than inconvenient. Overall, very pleased with the overall experience. Definitely somewhere I’d stay again, though perhaps not with my husband, as he is more of a “modern convenience” sort of guy. And a plumber, which made the bathroom situation particularly irksome to him, lol.

Did not like the glass wall bathroom. Couldn’t change room upon arrival because we booked thru hotel.com. Would suggest booking with hotel directly. Otherwise loved the old world ambience. Good service . Also loved the hotel cat that greeted us.

Room 19 - tv didn’t have a working remote. Couldn’t find a remote that would work. They would change our room for a $60 upcharge, no thanks. The toilet kept filling up and running constantly. Road noise was loud. Clean hotel and nice location in town on the river.

Great remodel on an old hotel. Rooms nicely done. Don't stay on the Main street side. A very busy and noisy thoroughfare. Lots of trucks etc. Would definitely stay there again. The restaurant food for dinner was excellent.

Arrived in Boonville after a morning on the Katy Trail and made our way from the trailhead to the hotel. We were a little early for the 4 pm check in so we went down the street for pizza a Breadeaux's, which was very good. We got back around 3:30 and were still able to check in early. Our room was spacious and well appointed. I was traveling with my son and the way the room was set up, we each had our own unique space or "room-within-the-room". The hotel had an ample storage room for bikes for the multitude of cyclists that were staying in the hotel and storage, and retrieval was a breeze. The staff was very friendly throughout the visit. Breakfast amounted to coffee and some fruit and snack bars so mixing my own protein shake in my mini blender in the room was my better option. The location right on the Missouri River was very scenic and very convenient to the bridge over the river to continue the ride along the Katy Trail.

The room was clean, but very plain. There were no comfortable chairs to sit, except for the one at the desk. And the room was very cold, and could not tell how to moderate temperature. We did not end up staying.

Great room, very comfortable bed, super nice check-in service. Walkable to breakfast diner. Had a glitch with having paid for the room and hotel charging also; clerk attended to it immediately. Will check with credit card before we leave. I’d recommend.

We've stayed at "The Fred" many times over the years when visiting family and look forward to it every time. During our latest stay we were impressed again with the friendliness of the staff, the bar/restaurant offerings and the historic accommodations. We love to stay at the Fred and wouldn't consider anything else in the area.

Stay was great! We came in for a soccer tournament and they were able to get us checked in earlier than expected which was nice. Staff was friendly and kind. Overall good experience.

Awesome location that is across the street from the Katy Trail. Super easy check-in and check-out. Very quiet stay. My room was spacious and had everything I needed. Super close to many dining options. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to others.

Very interesting and impressive old hotel building. Scanty breakfast and a bit dark, but overall a fine cultural experience. The owners are to be commended for their maintenance of a historically and architechturaly fine building. Everything works, parking is easy, on the street in front.

We were surprised that there were not the proper upgrades needed to meet the price point of this hotel. The beds were on cheap bouncing springs, shower and bathrooms dated with bad design, and the hallways were loud. This hotel needs more love than it was given. The food was heavy, without healthy options, breakfast was an after thought.

The hotel check-in and room were very nice. This was New Year's Eve, and the hotel had advertised heavily about the music and toast at midnight. The music was very lackluster and there was no toast or announcement at midnight. Very disappointing. The meal and service at the Fred was excellent, however.
