The hotel is a mess. The carpets are disgustingly dirty, taped down, ripped in spots, just awful. The WiFi was not good. The pool was cold, the hot tub was broken. The atm wasn’t working. The room was so dirty. I never heard a vacuum run. The toilets were so dirty, the bathtub, too. The sink was black. The cleaner supposedly cleaned, but nothing was cleaned at all. We asked for a different room and excuse was none were ready. They were down cleaners they said. You had to sign papers they weren’t responsible for any losses, but the price was very expensive. Your money was none refundable. The furniture was stained and broken! I’ve never seen such a dated, dirty, unsafe, room! The carpets were unsafe to walk on. A huge liability with bare and dirty spots where they were coming up. The entry way was nice, just looked nice until you got upstairs. The carpet was taped down in the halls, even. It’s an accident waiting to happen. The maid repented your towels. We dropped some nuts on the carpet and they weren’t vacuumed, ever. Around the toilet was black. The balcony has nails sticking up. My money should be refunded. The maid didn’t even change any bedding. The towels were dirty. It’s a disaster!

Extremely outdated property, gym is one treadmill that does not work, pool way too small and only indoor, zero amenities . Staff at bar and restaurant were very nice and efficient however.

My booked room was changed from a King bed to two singles. They upgraded to a Jacuzzi room that only had a twin bed. It was a nice room, however the bed was small. The hotel needs to have some of the profits put back into the hotel. Very run down with broken elevators and hot tub, poor carpets and all around degradation. This is NOW a 3 star establishment.

Room was very clean and had some nice updates (floor, bathroom door). Could use some others (lamps, furniture, balcony railing). Room was good size and had a nice view. Large tv and comfy bed. Air/heat blower would not stay on constantly, even though it is what we had it set on. Staff was friendly and allowed us to check in early. Bar/lounge was very busy. We only had drinks which were reasonable. We were disappointed that the hot tub/jacuzzi was closed. Was one of the things we had planned to use.

Excellent position and views on St Lawrence but this property is tired(with a capital "T")-- carpets are stained,curtains ripped and the door to our room stuck and could be difficult to open. Wi Fi very unreliable,which the hotel put down to kids gaming .

It's such a shame this property has been let go for so long. I can't believe we paid over $200 for one night in this run down, dated, dirty, hotel. The hot tub was out of order a long with the sauna. The pool was small, cold and dirty. The spa area was filthy. Guests and/or staff were smoking pot so the hallways stunk. We were very disappointed.

Room needed many improvements. Rug was very badly stained, mirror was stained, sink had a slow drain and one morning bathtub/shower drain started gurgling and then soap bubbles came out of it - and no one had used it so backing up from somewhere else. Ok public areas but room not so much.

The bathroom floor was filthy, as in when I wiped a wet towel over it, it was covered in black. The upstairs loft area had not been vacuumed in quite awhile. The main area had new LVF, which was nice, but not swept in the corners. I expected a cleaner room, especially for what they charge per night.

The bathroom ceiling was peeling. The bathroom tub and sink were stained , after one night house keeping came in and cleaned. The room looked cleaner then when we arrived. And they put more tea bags and cups but not coffee I had to go ask for coffee. Towels are dingy. Pool looked like it needed cleaned. Hot tub closed. And when the tiki bar is opened good luck with parking. Restaurant on site are very pricy. Staff was very nice. And they don’t clean the balconies so you can’t sit out there because they’re dirty and covered in spider webs. For the price I expected better.

I was truly disappointed. No microwave, poor condition of curtains and no rm darkening, floor was dirty, our rm had dumpster removal outside the window. The noise was terrible on our floor. I will not go back or recommend to anyone

This place is dated & dirty, there were 4 or 5 spiders in the high corners of our room, the bathroom was mildly dirty as well. They obviously didnt clean it properly. Alex Bay is really going down hill the alst few years! The bar, staff, and food are solid 4/5, but the cleanliness was unacceptable.

We were greeted by overwhelming cigarette smoke in the entry. The room was spacious, but the door didn’t fit the space. The door jam was hallow, meaning the locking mechanism sat in a huge hole. Altogether, light poured into the room at night. The balcony was supposed to have a view of the bay. Instead, it offered a view of the parking lot. The curtains didn’t begin to keep the light out. The bed frame was helt together with duct tape. That felt classy (not). Breakfast sucked. The pancakes were terrible for the price. Altogether, i was unimpressed. Bonnie Castle or Capt.Thomas offer better stays.

I really loved having a balcony and fortunately the weather was perfect for enjoying it. I would have liked to have a microwave in my room particularly the first night as the restaurant was closed. The 2nd night i ate ate the restaurant and had the tempura battered tofu meal. It was done to perfection however i would have enjoyed a dipping sauce to go with it. All in all, enjoyable enough.

Room was clean and spacious, with balcony opening onto harbor and the river. Jacuzzi in the bedroom gave a distinct 90s timeshare look. Restaurant and bar/pub were nice. But the bathroom in the room was absurdly small and the 2x3 shower was hopelessly inadequate -- presumably scaled down to accommodate a room on the riverfront reception room on the other side of the wall. And the 5'6" shower door was just icing on the cake.

Location and view. The hotel needs to be updated drastically….,,,it looks like they at some point tried but need a more qualified decorator. Room needs a comfortable chair or couch, get rid od the 80’s pinkish brown stone. The TV takes two remotes to make it work. Nice looking on outside.

We added on another night to the beginning of our trip and the front desk did nothing but lie to us. First they gave us another room by mistake which was not the arrangement we made. We were told we could stay in the first room until our original room was ready the next day except the night clerk failed to inform the day clerk and they made us leave for several hours until it was cleaned. They took their time to do it as well. They cheated us out of hours of our hotel stay that we had already paid for while we sat in the parking lot and went for a ride, no apology, no discount, no free drink at the bar nothing! The restaurant menu was very limited. The breakfast was half cold on both days and the coffee tasted very strange. We were afraid to make coffee in the room because the water from the faucet smelled weird like it might have come straight out of the river. The room was adequate although the drapes were falling off the curtain rods on both windows. Not a good look for the amount we paid per night. We will not return.

The staff at the Riveredge was excellent. My room however had a non operationally deadbolt on the door and as a woman traveling alone I was uncomfortable with that. I alerted the front desk of the problem and they immediately offered to change my room and even sent someone up to help me move. Hallways are dark and carpet is in disrepair in spots.the pool facilities are beautiful BUT pool water was to cold and the hot tub was to hot. Alexandria Bay treads on George Boldt’s reputation of excellence. It felt like there were many missed opportunities, and not just at the Riveredge resort. I waited a half hr for a sandwich and a beer at Riley’s and my twilight boat tour was cancelled but there were still seats on the dinner cruise. Felt like I was being upsold. I understand that there must be a certain number of passengers to take a boat out, but if you cancel a trip why not offer me the next trip going at the same price. I will still visit Alex Bay bc I love it there. I realize they have a short season, but they need to step up their game a bit.

We had reserved a room to be able to see the St Laurence shipping channel. The room given had a balcony, but we needed to hang out over the railing a bit to see the channel and Boldt Castle. They moved us to a fabulous room with a great view! The employees were very friendly and accommodating! Will tell friends!

This is a property right on the St. Lawrence River. It is easy walking distance to the downtown area and many attractions. (They are in the process of renovation, so things may have to be addressed, and it's obvious they will be, just wait a bit longer.) The people couldn't be any nicer or more cooperative. Everyone was personable, conscientious, efficient and professional.

Weather was perfect and so does the stay at Riveredge Resort, along with granddaughter. We are pleased with the experience from check-in to the Check-out. After a day of sightseeing, we returned to find music at the Tiki Bar outside. Our granddaughter went for dip in the pool and then we ordered food from the River Watch style tavern. We ordered the fired calamari as appetizer and the smashed burger and Fish and chips as entrees. Both courses were cook to perfection. The service at the River Watch couldn’t not been better. The view from the room was spectacular, even in the morning when we had a look from our balcony. Then we headed for buffet style breakfast at the Windows on the Bay restaurant. The food and the service were excellent. We are already talking about making reservations for next year summer.

Our room included a jacuzzi tub which was very relaxing to wind down a long day of walking. King bed was very roomy, and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony of our room and seeing Boldt Castle in the distance. The food and service at our dinner and breakfast in both restaurants at Riveredge was fantastic. Absolutely recommend staying here on any trip to the Thousand Islands.

Great hotel convenient to visit 1000 islands. Food was just ok. Only one server the morning we were there. I felt bad for her. She was running around serving lots of tables. Staff were very professional though and accommodating.

The restaurant was awful. All the dishes likely were preheated in the microwave after who knows how many days of being prepared. The only eatable choice during the breakfast were eggs, during the dinner- nothing.
