Fantastic option for staying in the area. Best hostel I've been in. Staff are all really nice and helpful and the fact that there is a cafe and a bar on the property is awesome..they actively have events most nights and the cafe has great coffee and the food I had was a god price and tasted great.

First time staying in a hostel and this place exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly, free bear spray to check out each day, free bus pass, large lockers and under bed storage. The restaurant and bar had great food and drink options at an affordable price.

Like the area and I didn't like the bed, matress was like a rock and not divisions like a curtain that should be mandatory in a mixed bedrooms. Kitchen was well equipped and clean, lobby is welcoming and warm with a nice view.

Our private room was nice , washrooms down the hall. Bathroom doors were a little worn maybe some upgrades? Kitchen was a little tight for space, but dining area was adequate. Nice to have food options available. Sitting outside was lovely, not much open seats for guests in lobby area.

We had a lovely one night stay at HI Banff. We booked a private room with double bed, price was decent considering it's Banff. There was a shared bathroom and shower on our floor, which were pretty clean. Lots of cozy common areas to relax, read, or get some work done. Staff were helpful and accommodating. There's free parking and we were provided with free public transit ticket which was nice. There was a bus stop just few steps away from the hostel and short ride to downtown.

Staff was great, the checkin was fast and reliable. They had many great amenities such as laundry, a cafe, and a bar within the Hostel. The rooms were a little outdated. My problem was the wifi that was horrible, I couldn’t even upload one video. The bathroom that smelled like pee and so did the shower. The shower had hair all over the floor, the hair dryer in women’s bathroom wasn’t working, and while the Chicken sandwich in the cafe was good, the poutine was the worst I had in my life. The gravy tasted weird, the fries were so dark and tasted weird. I can only say good things about the staff that even gave us bus passes. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel. And the Hotel is located about 5/ 6 minutes from downtown Banff. Great location and staff. Bathroom should be worked on and some food items.

I thought the cost was WAY over priced for what we had as accomodation. No way was I going to take a shower after observing other lack of wiping down when down. The tub of free toiletries was abominable for just a few things in a tub under the sink. No place to really put items in the room except on the bed and a few shelves. I will never stay here again.

The room was decent, the common area was nice too but the lower level & hallways could use some maintenance & better upkeep. Just didn't have cozy vibes and felt like walking around in a mechanical room / hall. Baseboards were off the wall, paint needed etc

Nice place in general with Great staff, cafe & bar. We had double room with share toilet. Room was tiny & no room for luggage etc. Bathrooms ok. As a hostel it was a complete rip off price wise. Hostels International charged in Euros then to Canadian, then Australian dollar. To pay over Aud$400 for one night was outrageous.

The staff at this property were amazingly friendly and very welcoming.I liked the layout of the property.And how you got a bus pass to go into town which made traveling a lot easier around Banff. There were a few downsides, one being that the beds are really creaky.And so if you're gonna stay here , I'd recommend having headphones or earplugs, the wifi was not working properly and everyone seemed to be experiencing the same issue. With a lot of troubleshooting it would work. The showers are a bit small and one appears to need the tile redone in the shower room as some of it is lifting where it previously was repaired. The towels are no good either, so bring your own. Overall, most of these are just a heads up.I would absolutely stay at this property again because it was fairly clean, the ensuite could use a good floor clean but the showers were always clean and I never had an issue getting one.It was pretty quiet and the view was amazing and the bus pass was a huge plus and staff were so nice. Also the cafe makes some great food.

The area around the hostal is really nice and the staff are very helpful. I had trouble sleeping because I am a bit sensitive to noise and I could hear the steps from outside my room and upstairs. Besides that, everything was really nice.

For a stop as you consider what to explore in the Banff area, consider the Hi Banff as your ground zero. Friendly, multi-cultural staff go out of their way to make sure everyone is accepted and comfortable. Great cafe on site and all sorts of options for day trips in the area.

It is a lovely spot in the trees with wild life near by. I thought that the Big3 shuttles picked up directly at the hostel. I was wrong you needed to take a 6 min bus to a bus Banff av. where you hop on the free shuttle to one of the 3 ski ressorts.

The farm to table fresh food in the café was fantastic. They really went all out and worked so hard those two guys and then in the morning the same guy was serving breakfast so kudos to them for working so hard. I gave a $25 tip at the end of the night. I made sure to put $100 in the Jasper inn help box. There is live music Saturday nights at the café, which was exquisite and then karaoke at 10 PM in the bar downstairs games to play lots of people to chat with just a really cool comfortable pretty amazing hostile in my humble opinion .. beds were very big and very comfy. Room was hot but little to my chagrin in the morning, I noticed two different fans and one small heater on the side for us to use. I had four girls staying in my room and two more up a flight of long ladder stairs to go up high all the girls in the room were quiet and respectable everybody trying to get rest and all in all in my humble opinion the whole experience was very great. I recommend and give Two thumbs 👍 up 👍

The property is situated in vary nice area. Very friendly staff. Stayed 2 nights and enjoyed the dinner very much both nights. Walking distance to the down town. Over all very happy with the Hostel.
