Rhumb Line Resort

Hotel and grounds are dated but it was clean. Great pool. Fitness room was closed. From photos i thought the beach was on the property but it was across the street and down a block. You definitely need a car to do anything off the property but it was relaxing.

Last year the hot tub was not working and this year it still is not working.

Such a fun resort with vintage vibes in decor. Indoor and outdoor pool and hot tubs. Restaurant on site and you can get dins, snacks and bevs at the pool!!!! Just awesome with super friendly staff - we will definitely be coming back. Loved the proximity to area beaches and downtown

The pools looked like they had algea. No elevator and we were on 3rd floor. The carpets were gross and outdated. The ice machines didnt work, the air cinditioner didnt work and you didnt get room service unless you put sign out and they only changed the towels. It was nice and quiet but wasnt worth the money.

I booked the property for the pool/hot tub and the restaurant/bar on property. When we got there the pool area was down for construction. And the restaurant/bar wasn’t open yet. No mention of this anywhere. When i got to the seat they just said “it’s on our website”. No courtesy offers or discount

Great location! Easy access to get on Ocean Ave, and short drive to town. Perfect for a one-nighter stop over from Acadia National Park to NYC. Indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs are great for recovery after all the hiking!

The place is literally falling apart. The doors don’t close properly. The indoor pool area has rusted doors/locks, missing tiles, frayed wood. Overall it’s a mess! There are missing ceiling tiles and water stains everywhere. It’s not worth the money.

You can tell this was a beautiful property in its heyday. We weren't told there was a trolley stop there because we would have used it. The staff was courteous but offered no info about the area. We were given a map of the downtown when we asked. There were some info sources lying on the tables I noticed later. The outside pool was still open and appeared crystal clear. The inside pool and hot tub were disgusting - dirty around the edges and brown on the bottom. The area around the pool needed some upgrading and cleaning up. Although we knew there was a pool none of the property's amenities were explained until we asked. I'm a firm believer in tipping but I'll decide what to tip. This "resort" tacks on a $1.50/day/person for housekeeping to "make it easier on the guest". I realize it's a nominal amount & some people don't tip but I resent being told it makes it easier for the guest. We were there (3) nights and didn't use housekeeping. I would've tipped anyway but didn't leave an extra amount. Overall, it was a nice stay - quiet. It's frustrating to be charged the prices per night and getting a hotel that is worth so much less. This is across the board - not just here.

We loved the pool and room accomodations. Our room had a private balcony for relaxing and reading. The indoor pool was awesome and we used it every day. Friendly, helpful staff members made us feel right at home. We'll be back!

We were celebrating our 35th anniversary with a trip to Maine. I had a bad feeling as we lugged our gear up 4 flights of stairs which had not seen a vacuum in weeks. When we opened the door to our room, I literally burst into tears. The odor was overwhelming, the wallpaper peeling and I'm pretty sure there was feces on the shower curtain. The free breakfast consisted of hard boiled eggs, a community bowl of melon, packaged muffins, instant oatmeal and bagels (if you were lucky). They claimed to have a restaurant and 2 bars on site, but we were told at check-in that those would probably not be open because they had no staff. We were booked for 4-long nights and I thought I would never get the stench out of my hair. Definitely do not recommend.

Go to the hotel later in the evening (7pm) on Wednesday after a long car ride. 1st room we got walked in and right back out. The room reaked of cigarette smoke (Room 115). The 2nd room the carpet was filthy. (Room 114). The 3rd and final room 214 was livable for the night as it was getting late and the restaurant were closing soon. For the money I would never stay there again.

Rhumbline resort was close to the shops, restaurants and beaches by car. We stayed for one night and were thankful for that. The grounds could really use some maintenance and the hallway carpets desperately needed to be vacuumed. There was also a random broken chair by the side entrance and garbage on the floor at the end of the hallway. The bed felt like we were sleeping on a stack of newspapers and the dresser, mirror and lamp had some heavy dust on it. The door to our room and to the porch stuck badly so we had to use force to open/close them. Overall, the place could use some tlc and most likely more staff.

A great little stay in a beautiful area with lots to do. Rooms are clean, cozy and comfortable! Staff is friendly.

The staff was great the room was dirty and the bathroom was moldy.

Certainly not worth the price. Our room smelled musty and like a sour towel. Our floor had a continuous wet spot...not sure where it was coming from. Has not been updated a long while. Would not stay again.

I saw some negative reviews regarding the "older decor" of the property. If you know this in advance and you're not super bougie, this is the place to go. I actually enjoyed feeling like I was back 25 years ago before cell phones and chaos. The property is super clean and well-kept with a nice pool. The food at the outdoor restaurant was super reasonable, and drinks were cold. The breakfast was good and was restocked as soon as it got low. Everyone was friendly. The bed and pillows were super comfy and it was the best sleep I got all week in the 4 different hotels (most much newer) we were at. The AC was so cold we had to turn it down. I enjoyed the pool towels in the room and the chairs on the balcony to sit and relax. It is very tree heavy around and just a calming place to stay. Thank you for a short but wonderful stay, we will for sure be back.

An average hotel and hotel experience - nothing more. Room and facilities need updating. Small room & very small bathroom. Small TV.

A very expensive motel. Just because there are pools & a “hot tub” - which wasn’t working during the time of our visit, was just a very small warm pool - does not make it a resort. We have been to resorts & we have been to motels before - once you get past the lobby, it immediately turns downhill to a motel. Our room was very dark & dingy - & the bed was one of the worst we’ve ever slept on - hard as a rock. My husband’s back hurt him so much we cut our 4 night trip to 2 nights. We were hoping maybe management would reach out to us, but they didn’t. As long as they got their $1,000 from us they obviously didn’t care. Very very weak Wi-Fi - I was hoping to catch up on some work, but was unable to. & The first day & half our TV didn’t work either - I will give them credit that they did everything they could to try to fix that problem, it ultimately came down to the TV provider, so I don’t fault them for that. This place really needs some renovations if they are going to charge so much for stay. It felt like we were robbed, they also add fees when you get there just FYI. Would not recommend this “resort” & will never stay again.

We had an upstairs room in the back of the complex. It was difficult carrying luggage up and down the stairs. The room was ok although the TV was small and not high definition.

The room had everything I needed. Noisy people at night. No elevator. Had to drag a heavy bag up 3 flights of stairs. The door lock was unreliable. I had to wave my card in front of it for a long time before it decided to open. Bed was comfortable.

Everything was nice. Room was comfortable as were the beds.

This is an older property but the staff is very helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The property is convenient to walk to restaurants, shops on commercial street

The facility is outdated. Room is small and bathroom is outdated. Location is quiet and close to town. Outdoor pool is nice. Basic breakfast is included.

The Rhumbline is sufficient for a one night quick stay. The rooms are dated, but clean. The sheets need a heavy dose of fabric softener or need to be upgraded, as they felt like sandpaper.

The front desk was super helpful and gave us a map and dining options for the evening. A short drive to the tourist and dining areas. Nice indoor pool and the hot tub was awesome after walking around all day!

Staff was amazingly welcoming and helpful.

Kate at check-in is very courteous knowledgeable and professional. She gave a lot of insight to the area and parking at the venue we were attending that day. She had a great personality and very accommodating. Room was very clean and and our requests were met when we arrived. We will return when in area.

The woman who checked us in was snarky for no apparent reason. Even my husband asked what I had done to irritate her. We were early for check in and I told her if we were too early it wasn't a problem as long as my husband could log onto the Wi-Fi for a Zoom meeting. She said she could check us in and since I had paid extra for a poolside room, I thanked her. She put us in the worst poolside room possible, in the very back corner with a bush in front of the patio so it was very dark and dirty. The interior of the room was meh, although the towels were nice. I do not recommend this hotel.

The staff is amazing and friendly. They greeted us like we were family staying at their house. Would recommend!

Loved the hot tub after walking Kennebunkport. Plus the phone call to let us know we had accidently left something in the room and they were holding it at the desk for us. The staff was just excellent

Mattress very old and sunken in middle, sink & tub scratch marks. Sink plugged slow draining. Several times went to desk no one there. Went in hot tub at night no lighting took off bathing suit chunks dirt on my body. Disgusting.

Rhumb Line is in a great location: close enough to Kennebunk/Kennebunkport but not right near the bustle of tourists. The hot tub was very nice. There’s a restaurant/bar right next to it! Be mindful about when it closes, though, if you’re looking for poolside food and drinks. Another thing to consider: Breakfast in the morning was not very full of options, and we were there first thing. Maybe we just hit it on a bad day? Still, highly recommend.

This hotel is in a great location for touring Kennebunkport!! It is quiet, safe and family friendly. We enjoyed our 2 night stay tremendously.

My husband and I were comfortable at the Rhumbline. Its right near Kennebuncport, but more affordable than many places I looked at. It's good for families, as there is a pool on site and the place is in a quiet, safe neighborhood. But there's no beach you can walk to, which disappointed me. However, this is a nice, decent place to sleep, and use as a base as you explore Kennebuncport.

Nice property for the price. Very quiet and a pretty location. A bit dated but very clean and comfortable. The pools looked great and the tiki bar was always busy. A good value for the area and close to town.

The property is in a good location, close to Kennebunkport downtown and 5 min car from Colony beach. The rooms are very outdated, they could really use a fresh paint and change of drapes, covers etc. The mattress was not terrible but not very comfortable either. Overall I would stay again because the price/quality is fair. It's definitely a family hotel, the kids were enjoying the pool

Please realize that this place is not at all close to the beach or really even walking distance!!! That is the sole reason we picked to stay here was because of the close access to beach…but, we had to drive to the beach. Do not be fooled! We were. It’s a fine place, dated, not kept up, but ok. It was extremely disappointing for us because we wanted close to the beach!! They did provide a very nice cot for my son to sleep on, which was great!

I stay at the Rhumb Line often(5+/yr) for many years. I know what to expect and don’t ask for much. In the summer, it’s busy. There is an indoor pool and an indoor hot tub and a large outdoor hot tub open year round. There is a large in-ground pool open in the summer. Also in the summer they have outside food and beverage service with lobster bakes, it’s really fun. I just went on a Sunday night in the fall, so there weren’t a lot of guests and it was very quiet and peaceful. Rooms are old, but always clean. Decent size, some with balconies overlooking the back of the property. Basic to-go breakfast included. Offers toast, bagels, yogurt, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, coffee, milk, juice. Laid back family resort. A great less expensive option in K-Port.

The outside area around the pool and bbq was great, and people seemed to really enjoy it. Inside hot tub was wonderful, especially after a long drive. But the property is in need of some upkeep (painting, brick maintenance, etc) as well as some improvements/upgrades to their continental breakfast and vending machines. Staff members at the front desk were really friendly and helpful. Overall a very pleasant stay, and a short drive to free parking (and short walk from there) for Dock Square.

Great place! Great location! Pools and hottubs wonderful and outside bar and eat ery so convenient! Great food! Breakfast was very good! Near places to visit. Friendly staff.Nice property! Should have booked two nights!!!

Nice place to stay for 1 night. Staff were great & very helpful. You do have to drive & find parking to go in town. Bar by the pool was convenient for a beverage after a long day. Breakfast was basic, consisted of mostly bagels, English muffins & packaged muffins. There was fresh fruit & cold hard boiled eggs (I think) & some cereals. Would’ve liked more protein options. Also, the fitness center advertised on the site, which was a deciding factor on our stay, was closed. All in all though, we would stay there again.

Nice older resort at a decent price. The hot tubs are warm... not hot. The internet is spotty at best and not much knowledge of it by the staff. Breakfast was middling with muffins being dry, boiled eggs tough to peel, and tbe only thing hot being whatever you put in the dirty toasters. The beds were fine and bathroom clean.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Continental breakfast was satisfying and a good start for the day!

A great place with fantastic pool facilities. It was quiet, spacious and had plenty of parking. The breakfast options were limited and it would have been nice to have had little more variety and use of recycleable or reusable utensils and plates rather than single use disposables.

Great place to stay with family. Admirals Table poolside restaurant had good food and no wait times, which was really nice during high tourist season.
