Older hotel but great location at a good price. Also inexpensive price for parking

Pros: - Refurbished apartment, so large room for a good price - Larger rooms have kitchen with appliances (not sure about smaller rooms) - Great location for young/active people. Very close to the beach and lots of hole-in-the wall dining and bars - Free coffee and tea in the lobby - Included Wifi was great - Has coin-op laundry (did not use, but noticed was there) Mid: - Has a small, underground parking lot for $20 a day (but really hard and annoying to get in and out of. Bring a small car!) - Desk service, while mostly passive, provided amenities and assistance when asked. Room service was only upon request Cons: - No complimentary breakfast - The place feels old and dated. Most furniture are actually clean, but look really dirty due to age unknown stains - We booked 2 large rooms, and because of the piecemeal renovations, had some weird issues. 1 room had a really slippery bathtub and no place to hang toilet paper next to the toilet. Another bathroom had a horrible arrangement. The toilet was butt up against the door and toilet paper making for an unsittable experience (plus the door had a carved-out hole to be able to swing past the toilet to close) - Elevator broke down on us twice during our 3 night stay - These last point are personal preferences. The location not for large groups, people with low mobility, people with their own/rental cars (especially larger vehicles), or in general, people who dislike or are unused to the noisy hustle and bustle of downtown life

It was hard to find the proper and then the parking lot I didn’t like it

Great property with nice views of the English bay. The elevator wasnt working when we went, seemed like it want working for a long tine. Cleanliness was below average, stinky staircase and corridors. Lot of stairs to climb.

Great location BUT the place is very dated! The beds were good, we brought our own pillows and a blanket so we didn’t have to touch the top bed spreads. The chairs in the room were very beaten and tattered and there was an extremely strong smell of cleaning products or bleach when we walked in. We opened all the windows turned on both ac units and all the fans. Honestly the stay was good, streets a bit busy so rooms not quiet. The worst part was the parking, there is a small under ground parking lot for small vehicles which we couldn’t fit in so had to park across the street in a small lot which was full when we arrived so had to circle around the block a few times to wait for a spot. It was $35 to park for 24 hours.

Very convenient for people want to visit the area around Stanley Park. Lot of food options in the area. It's right across the street from English bay. Onsite parking was a bit tricky. There's no elevator to the parking. The room was equipped with all the basic kitchen accessories. Staff was kind enough to accept Amazon packages which I ordered to this address.

Great location on the west end, near beach and lots of restaurants. Walkable to Grandville Island and Stanley Park. Parking is a pain and large vehicles can't use the hotel parking which is much cheaper than other nearby options. Hotel furnishings are dated but spacious rooms for a good price.

There is NO PRESENCE ON THE STREET. You have to go into the hotel to find out about parking, but there was no place to park on the street to go into the hotel. The elevator was tiny and the door did NOT LIKE TO STAY CLOSED so that the elevator could function. I ended up holding the door shut so the elevator would function.

Hotel is run down and needs refreshing. Carpets are old and extremely dirty, mattresses are very out dated and uncomfortable

We liked the area that the hotel is in but the hotel itself could use some sprucing up. It smelled when you walked in and when you got in the elevator. The carpets in the hallways are filthy and they smell of mildew. The room is nice when you walk in but when the cleaning staff come and clean, all they do is make the bed, take the trash and change the towels. There is no cleaning of the sink and bathtub and they don't vacuum either. Needless to say, we were disappointed with the hotel itself, but the location was great.

Hotel was very outdate, as expected for the price. The interior has seen a hard life bit overall it seemed well disenfected. The downside was the perculiar smells in each area, all different, all offputting. The room smelt of heavy disenfectent, possibly still of gassing. The biggest downside wss the noise. We where on the second floor, directly over the street food bar/hangout. It was loud, the windows offered little to minimize the noice. This kept up well into the night. Amateur race car drivers practiced their redlight launches throughout the night to ensure we were kept alert. Overall could be an ok budget hotel as the area is fantastic though you should really focus on the finer details!

Older building in good location. Good tv and new bathroom. Mattress was in need of replacing. Chair was stained and unattractive. Had a kitchenette and a window ac. Hallways had odd smells.

Enkelt och förhållandevis billigt hotell med mycket bra läge intill English Bay Beach. Standarden är ganska låg - heltäckningsmattorna i korridorer och (vissa) rum är gamla och otroligt ingrodda med smuts - man vill inte gå utan skor på rummet.

The place smelled like bitter Lysol. There were dumpsters outside our window. Vagrants slammed the dumpster lids at all hours of the night looking for food.

Old place, but very clean and comfortable

The property is clearly run down. It was clean, but smelled overwhelmingly of cleaners. I would stay there again. Location was great and walkable.

Location was great. Affordable. Not very clean in the bathroom. Dirty walls. Tons of dead fly's in the elevator.

Great location in English Bay area. Lots of bars and restaurants in immediate vicinity. Rooms are large and have everything you need and are clean but are very dated and run down and in need of update. For the price, and in comparison to other very expensive accommodation options in the city, we were pleased with our stay.

Very good location and an affordable stay. Very close to the beach and lots of dining options. It is very old school, but our room and bathroom were clean. The carpets and kitchenette flooring could definitely use a revamp, and the same goes for the flooring in the hallway/stairwell. Having the kitchenette with a nice-sized fridge was a plus! Also, very comfy beds and clean bedding.

You get what you pay for. This place was awesome for our family. The suite was perfect. Family of five - 3 teenagers- we need Somme space for everyone and they accommodated with excellence. Love the room, kitchen with plates and stove, lots of room for everyone. I highly recommend for anyone travelling on a budget and doesn’t mind a room that’s a bit dated. *loved the view

Checked in and out process is quick and easy. The hotel is clean considering it is also very old. Beds are comfortable. Only complaint is the noise coming from the outside at night.

Location was great foer our family. We were steps away from Stanley Park. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Rooms are dated but was fine. Awesome view from our room overlooking the bay. Staff was great.

In a great location, beach, pubs, shops, restaurants etc. The hotel while clean and comfortable is in need of updating in a number of ways. Rooms at the street side can be noisy. Would not stop me using it again.

The place needs a complete renovation. Staff members were pleasant with the exception of Jack who was extremely rude. Would not go back.

Absolutely loved the English Bay Area to stay 2 days before our Alaskan cruise. Staff at English bay hotel were extremely nice, we arrived around noon and the young gentleman working the front desk said our room was ready, he gave us our key to our room then headed to our room even thought checkin wasn’t until 3pm. That was awesome since we didn’t have to carry our luggage around for 3 hours. Thanks English bay hotel for making our trip smooth and memorable.

The front desk staff was rude. It’s conveniently located near the bus stop and restaurants. The building is old and the elevator is not working properly.

I called hotel to inform them my flight from Orlando was delayed. When I called after I landed I let him know we would be to the hotel in an hour and a half. He said he was looking forward to seeing us. I got to hotel exactly when I stated it has now been two hours and I can not find anyone that works at the hotel to give me my room. I am exhausted. My wife and kids are exhausted. It’s 5:30 in the morning my time in Florida. We have been traveling for 24hrs. This is disappointing. We ended up with the kids asleep in the car.finally I made one last attempt to call the front desk the clerk was in over and hour and a half after I showed up. My wife was so upset. She said he had been sleeping. We got a run at street level and could not sleep the noise from the party district did not allow my wife to sleep at all. Location is everything. The whole thing could have been avoided if the clerk had an information sheet saying gone to lunch or something.

Location was amazing and was easynto get to. Just steps away from the beach and the sea wall. Ferry for False Creek area was a 20min walk away. Has secure underground parking for smaller vehicles for less than street parking. Hotel is older and shows its age. Price reflects this because location was amazing. Bed, linens, bathroom, towels and kitchen were very clean. Bed was comfortable to sleep in. AC worked well and fans also provided. Our room faced the condos behind the hotel so had no street noise. Would stay here again.

We loved the location as so close to Stanley Park and from our window we could see the english bay beach. Room was very spacious and overall quite clean. if the rooms and the corridor would have some renovation it would be perfect. Prices are quite high in the city so overall it was much cheaper for us.

Great location!

English Bay Hotel has ready access to transit. Beach is nearby for strolling. Restaurants, convenience stores, grocery stores abound. Neighbourhood is diverse so if this is not for you, choose to stay downtown. Overall, hotel is worn although staff appear to doing their best to maintain it. Room was huge and held many amenities (2 queen beds, 2 armchairs, table & chairs for 5, kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, etc,, lamps, fan, air conditioner) but could have done with less as looked tired. Beds were comfortable & clean. Water temperature in bathroom required careful adjustment as indicated by signage.

Very close to the beach! The room was spacious, was great for 5 people!!! Staff were kind! The food places right beside the hotel were amazing, plus you get a discount on food if you are staying at the hotel, restaurant staff treat everyone like family with kindness. You are also so close to many stores, transit, nightlife. The room could have been cleaner, there was dust in certain spots. My friends and I checked furniture and we found 1 silverfish. It’s definitely a fair price that you pay, we would all stay there again!!! Thanks!

Estuvimos contentos mis padres y yo. El hotel cuenta con cocina lo que hace mas económico al estancia. la limpieza por lo menos en nuestro cuarto fue impecable. La verdad para el precio que se pagó fue una excelente opción. Muy buena ubicación. tienen Cafe diario 24 horas al día y el staff es muy amable.
