Ryogoku View Hotel

I loved the location but wish I had known there wasn’t any parking!! And there was an event going on so I ended up paying premium parking prices and it was about $200 for 2 days. Super close to train stations for people who don’t have a car and there is a McDonald’s across the street for those with children!

I like most of it but I do wish they had a washing machine in site . Could be a reason I might not stay next time. But the price is great for everything else and there is a station really close. The catch: is a small station only 2 lines go through so if you want to leave between 7 am - 9 am to the airport with big bags this is a huge disadvantage. I had to wait for almost 2 hrs at the station to leave because eve try train was packed and I only had a carry on and a backpack . The staff was super patient with me when I was sending my luggage. Overall great experience.

Good location beside the JR station. Lots of dining options around the hotel area. No need to worry for dinner after the long day shopping. Staff are nice and attentive. Saw a microwave at the lobby but if there is one at least on each floor, it would be perfect.

Right next to the JR Ryogoku station, newly renovated hotel was clean and in a great location. Would be slightly improved by having in-building washing machines.

Conveniently located across from a train station, 711, coffee shop, and other food options. Although we could hear the trains going by, this didn’t disturb us. We really appreciated the use of the locked luggage storage and utilized this before and after checking out. We enjoyed the use of the provided sleepwear and comfortable bedding. Although the hotel seemed a bit dated, it was clean. Being in the “Sumo area” of Tokyo was an unexpected bonus. Comparing our hands to the size of their handprints was eye-opening!

Area was quiet, hotel have no laundromat so need to walk 10 min to the neighbourhood laundromat

Great food near hotel. Hotel room was very nice and and clean. Bed and pillows were super confortable. Wish we knew about the microwave at lobby lol.

It was nice. Registration desk personnel is so polite and welcoming. Note the check-in time is at 3pm. We can't check in before that time even at 2pm. But they have a free self-servce locker system to hold your luggages on the 3rd floor. Very convenient, I would say. Room is small but clean and confortable. Coffee/bakery shops and restaurants are walking distance. Coffee/bakery shop opens at 7am. Restaurant opens at 11am.

Nice two night stay. Was able to store luggage before check-in and after check-out, which was convenient. Great access to Ryogoku station.

We enjoyed the area this hotel was in and the convenience of places to eat and shop. The staff were very helpful and kind and didnt hesitate to answer any questions we had. However, my biggest issues were the cleanliness (or lack of) of the room and more particularly the bathroom. There was very strong smelling urine all over the front of the toilet and at the base of the toilet. There was also mold in the shower by the wall. Finally when I took the sheets off at the end of our stay there was what appeared to be urine stains on the matress pad. Other than the lack of cleanliness it was a very pleasant accommodation.

Very close to train station. The room is quite tight. Carpet is not as clean as other Japanese hotels we stayed during the trip.

The mold around the window and door should be immediately taken care of.

Nice hotel and great location next to train station. The room was well organized for four people. Never have I seen four twin beds in one room, but it was great. The only negative was there was a musty smell in the room.

Stay here if you like mould on the bathroom ceilings and around the tub. Overlooks the train station. Popular with large noisy school groups - very thin walls. On the upside breakfast was nice.

Pros: Hotel is just accross Ryōgoku train station, plenty of dining options in the area. Cons: Room we stayed in has dust buildup under the bed, some exposed wires on the side of the couch which we had to move to cover (for our 4 year old daughter). The bathroom was small and there was mold on the shower head, also no exhaust which may be contributing the the mold build up as well. The hotel would hold your luggage for a fee just before check in.

The air conditioner was completely covered in black mold. It caused serious lung problems

水回りがかなり気になりました。 ユニットバス内には髪の毛が残っていたり、シャワーの水圧が弱かったり。 設備的なところは仕方ないにしても、髪の毛や水垢は気になります。

Clean but very small

I stayed at one of the corner rooms, and it was enough space for 2 people with luggages. The room is bigger than the typical hotel rooms in Tokyo.

Rooms could be a bit bigger

Ryogoku View Hotel was our first stop during our trip to Japan. We only stayed for two nights in this hotel but wished we had booked it again for the end of our trip when we were back in Tokyo. Out of all of the hotels that we stayed in (in a major area), this one made the most out of the small space. For the two of us, the bed was a perfect size and there was still space for us to store our items and walk around. We didn't know that our room included a balcony, but it did. That was nice because we left the slider open for some air. The hotel had plenty of food areas right below and down the streets. Easy access to them all by foot, as well as a train station. If you don't mind a walk, we were able to reach Tokyo Sky Tree on foot and back, too. On the opposite side of the river, there are a lot of famous shopping areas, but we didn't get out there this time. The only complaint we could give was that the AC didn't cool the room. We live in a state where 65F is hot during spring, so again, it was nice to have a balcony with a sliding door. At least we had the option. I would say that this place is fairly quiet. It just depends on the other tourists around you. We had a family on their balcony who was arguing with their child about haircuts and piercings at 4 a.m. (Japan Time). We were up with jetlag too, but not disturbing our neighbors.

The room was overall good for needing a place to sleep. The room got super hot and the AC system only worked for heating. Didn’t seem like there was a washer or dryer amenities which wasn’t amazing. There wasn’t any bathroom extractor so the bathroom would stay hot and steamy for a while which would make the room hot. The location was nice as it was close to the station and a good amount of food places. I did ask for extra pillows as they were hard on my neck but I never received any. Overall good for just needing a place to sleep but nothing out of the ordinary.

Amazing property! One of the few hotels which let you control your AC unit in your room. They also had a balcony you were allowed to use!

The staff are very friendly and the location is convenient next to a train station however the “air conditioning” only heats and does not cool. We spent four hot sweaty nights here despite the staff giving us a portable fan. If you open the window then you get a lot of noise and pollution. For this reason I would not stay here again.

Convenient location right across the street from Ryogoku Station. However, the noise of the trains could be heard but didn’t keep me awake. Our stay was definitely adequate for our travel.

Great location. Close to the train station, restaurants and convenience stores. The front desk team members are friendly and helpful. Room is equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended.

The experience was good until the end, when one older staff at reception was rude and unwilling to help. He was the one who pulled the whole evaluation down.

4泊5日で利用しましたがフロントの対応が非常に親切で良かった。また、察しのいいスタッフさんでお借りした傘を返却のために傘を持って待っていたら前のお客様の対応の隙間時間にさっと受け取っててくださりそのまま早くに部屋に戻れたり、デフォのサービスがとても良く、タオル交換が19時頃に請求した時も気兼ねなく交換してもらった（その日の清掃及びアメニティ交換を指定、使用しなかった夜の19時） 清掃は至ってシンプルそして満足のいくものでゴミは徹底的になくしかし、乱雑に置かれた荷物は置いたステージは動かずに整理して頂いたり、電池ゴミが出てしまったので別の袋に入れておいてたのと、適当に必要なパッと見ごみみたいな透明な袋にまとめたものとが混在されてたが電池は処理されてて、透明な袋はそのまま残してくれていたのは感動した（部屋帰る時に捨てられてると覚悟していた） 周りの環境も静かで隣の声なども入りづらく（流石に窓開けたりするとベランダが繋がってるため聞こえるが…）何一つ不満のない宿泊が出来た 周り環境もご飯屋が多いのも好ポイント このサービスを2人で割れば4泊2万で泊まれるのは大変破格で非常に良かった。また両国駅付近に泊まる機会があれば利用したいし、周りでその周辺に用があるならおすすめしたいと思えるとても良いホテル

Check-in staff were friendly and helpful. However, during our stay I developed severe gout pain and stayed in bed for several days. During our departure, we were a bit late on check-out due to my condition, but front desk staff were somewhat indifferent to our request for a bit more time. They were reluctant to offer assistance to even open the front door until they saw me hopping towards it. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

Room was very clean and convenient location. Staff were very courteous and accommodating with my group and I cant say how appreciative we are towards the staff on their above and beyond expectations and experience. Definitely would consider staying here again. Check-in and out was also very easy and smooth

Very close to the station which makes traveling around easy.

Location of the hotel is perfect for attending Sumo. Or for any type of visit to Tokyo. Less than 1 block to the subway entrance for access to anywhere in Tokyo. Excellent balance of location, budget, convenience and quality. Highly recommended.

Great location, close to transit, restaurants and museums (Sumo, Edo Museum). Easy check in and out. Clean rooms. Comfortable.

Great hotel in the middle of Ryogoku. Subway is right across the street. McD’s, 7/11x Family Mart are all right next door. Great location for a base to explore Tokyo.

Old facility, but well maintained, staff friendly, good price and options for breakfast buffet

3連泊しました。浅草、上野、ディズニーランド等のアクセスに便利でした。また、両国駅から徒歩1分で迷うことなく移動できました。部屋は掃除されて綺麗でした。風呂が普通より大きかったのでゆったり入ることができました。朝食も美味しくいただきました。スタッフの対応も丁寧でした。

Good location directly beside the train station and close to sites such as the Sumo stadium, Senso-ji and the sky tree. Lots of restaurants nearby, great if you love Chankonabe! Breakfast had both Japanese and western options. Only downside was that the room was on the small side. When we checked in we were told they only had a smoking room which was a concern but in the end it was ok. It was clean and there was no smell. Overall good location and good value for money.

Breakfast needs to be significantly improved. We paid for it yet skipped the rest after the first meal.
