Located about a 10–15 minute walk from Ueno Station, the hotel can be a bit tricky to find at first. However, it’s in a fantastic area surrounded by restaurants, nightclubs, and a traditional market just a block away. The hotel has two buildings—we stayed in the older one. The room was very small, with barely enough space to open a large suitcase, but it had great amenities: a mini fridge, toothbrush, shampoo, hair dryer, and more. As is typical in Japan, the hotel staff were exceptional. One staff member even helped us arrange a taxi—big thumbs up for the warm and helpful service! 👍

We stayed in the annex building of the Centurion Hotel Ueno the room was clean and comfortable but quite small which we did expect with it being Tokyo..our only complaint is the smell of cigarette smoke in the lobby but the Family Mart in the building was a real plus as well as the coin laundry on site...The location was great for us near Ueno Park and the Yamanote line lots of restaurants nearby and a small grocery store across the alleyway we would definitely stay here again especially if they do something about the cigarette smell

Many shopping malls like Parco around. Donki is just opposite of hotel which operates till 4am. Nightlife starts around 6 plus as girls stand outside shops. Supermarket for local just directly opposite and family mart in the same building. Take note that the escalator is one direction, staff at reception will change the direction of the escalator manually using a key. So beware if you have huge luggages. Bottled water in fridge are complimentary in the room while the tea packets are only available near the main building's reception. We checked in at the main building and was asked to move to annex building. Access to annex building by tapping the room key at sensor. For the room, water pressure and temperate are inconsistent. Note they adopt eco style, hence no daily making of beds. However necessities like towel, toothbrush etc are replenished daily. Non smoker room. Limited hangers to put clothes, room is small in general. The lights from aircon control panel and mirror may pose discomfort to those who are sensitive to lights. Suggest to wear eye mask if you want to sleep in complete darkness.

The hotel experience was quite pleasant. The room was small for North America/ Europe standards, but adequate. For Tokyo standard it was what one would typically expect. The staff were curtious and helpful. The neighborhood was a good launch point for other areas if the city and was close to the transit line needed to get from the airport. At night, the neighborhood atmosphere becomes more adult oriented, but is not really Red Light, but just more suitable for adults. Daytime it's no problem to walk around with your child. There is Laundry (soap provided) with an ice machine and vending machine on the second floor. The hotel provides many extras you may have forgotten like toothbrush or hair brush, usb charging plug, etc. There is a convenience store on the bottom floor for convenience foods, drinks, and basics. I would stay here again.

Ideal for a night stop over, you can relax and enjoy the sights take in some great food. Situated a 10min walk from Ueno Shinkansen it’s perfectly located. The only downside is that you have to register across the road in another hotel then make your way to the hotel. That said clean, comfortable and affordable.

Good and convenient location. Bed was comfy. Rooms are small/cramped and no storage space for luggage like closets in the room. Difficult for toddler getting into everything. Garbage and debris left unclean under the bed.

We stayed in 902 not the Annex. Filthy carpet everywhere, tattered dirty wallpaper. Beds were clean and ok. Bath unit was tiny but clean. We took turns moving in the room because it’s tight and took turns opening our suitcases. Location was in a red light district.

Our stay was perfect! We stayed in a Queen Suite top floor of the Annex. It was perfect for a family of 4. We had plenty of room and we really enjoyed the location. The hotel is a close walk to Ueno Station, Ueno Zoo, many amazing restaurants. We will stay again.

We stayed in the annex. Room was large and spacious for our family of four. Family Mart right next to entrance and several close 711 stores made it convientient to grab needed items. Several metro lines within a four block radius. Walking distance from Ameyoko Shopping Street. Enjoyed being a block away from the Ueno Park gate. Furniture was dated. With location and size of the room we would be repeat visitors.

If you are a light sleeper, I would not recommend definitely can hear everything from outside. If you like, drinking plenty of bars around the area and clubs if you’re into that stuff. Hotel is clean and the staff are great and helpful.

일단 위치는 역에서 가까웠습니다. 작년에 방문하고 재방문인데, 작년에는 직원분들 전체가 친절하셨는데,이번에는 좀 불편함이 있었어요.예약과정에서 오류가있어 요금추가 문제가 있었는데. 직원분중 한분이 일본들과의 일본어 대화에서 인상쓰고 화내며 이야기하셔서 보기 좀 불편했습니다. 일본어를 알아듣지 못하는 상황이라..기분이 좋지않았어요 한국어가 가능한 분이 계셔서 좋았고 그분은 친절하셨어요. 일단 3명으로 예약했는데,2명으로 되어있었고 추가금안내하셔서 추가를 하였습니다. 예약시 인원확인 잘 하셔야될거같고. 추가금에 대한 보충설명이 좀 부족했습니다. 당황스러웠고.추가서비스도 불만족했어요. 다음 방문때는 재방문 안할겁니다.

The room we had on the 10th floor was a large size and reasonably clean (excluding bathroom mould). However this is not a hotel. They have no service. We asked for fresh towels and they denied us. The lobby stinks of smoke and the service staff (excluding the Nepalese lady) were very rude. Stay away!

This was my second time staying at the Centurion hotel. I booked this hotel because the location is close to Ameyoko and easy access to train stations. There was some confusion with the room i booked because i booked for 2 people thinking i would get to use the sofa bed for my friend. But in order to use the sofa you have to book for 3 people and pay the extra charge which doesnt make sense to me at all because im already paying for 2 people for 2 separate sleeping accommodations(beds). It took the hotel 2 days to respond to me by email and by that time i was already flying to Tokyo. When i arrived at the hotel I had to pay an extra ¥26500 which is not what i expected and it put a sour note on the beginning of my vacation. I think the Centurion hotel is a good location if you want to visit tokyo but they have to clarify their booking website especially for that room with the sofa bed.

Despite explaining to them that as hotel.com gold member I am entitled to request for a better quality room as requested without extra charge and also a minimum late checkout.. ドアに札を貼ってない時は部屋に入りませんと説明書きされているのに、外出中に部屋に入られた。フロントに問い合わせたら外国人スタッフの平謝りだけ。スタッフのほとんどが外国人の方らしいので、日本人基準の安全性やホスピタリティは求めないように。外国のホテルに泊まる時と同じように自分の荷物は自分で守る必要がある。

Pros: Conveniently located to lots of transportation, dining, and shopping options Family mart on property and a supermarket too! When choosing a room the Annex is the newer of the 2 buildings. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Cons: The property is aged. Would not recommend the area for families with children. Lots of girl bars and drunk men along side the property and many more in the area. Personally never felt unsafe, but not a sight for kiddos.

First time staying anywhere in japan and this place was great. Right next to Ueno park which is beautiful. Easy to get to various train stations and a pretty short walk to the akihabara arcades. We had the kabuki room, western travelers will probably feel a bit cramped in here but we enjoyed it! We also loved the Korean cafe around the corner

We had stayed at Centurion in Ameyokocho many times and loved it. We were shocked to find that this time we were at a sister property near Shinobazu pond. Be aware when you book that there is a sister property. It is a noisy area during the night and early morning. Did not feel safe at night.

5 min walk to main train station. 2 min walk to Ueno park- which is sooo beautiful at night. Next to a grocery store and many convenience stores. Room was clean and spacious. Bidet toilet and tub shower. They provide amenities such as toothbrush, body wash, shampoo, etc. great location and price. Also across the street from Donki store. Great for shopping and dropping belongings

Not to be confused with Centurion Hotel & Spa Ueno Station located in the Ameyoko shopping district, Centurion Hotel Ueno is just 1-2 blocks south of beautiful Ueno Park, so it’s a convenient spot for exploring the area. Our room was showing its age and could use a refresh, but it was a comfortable stay nonetheless and the staff are first-rate, always greeting us when coming in or going out. They helped us resolve a few travel issues, and we were most grateful for their professionalism and courteousness from check-in to check-out.

It's very close to several train stations and lots of dining options. A few mins walk to Ameyoko and Ueno Park. It's adjacent to a Family mart and right across is Donki for souvenir shopping.

We stayed for three nights and, at night, had an ambulance go by every 10 minutes. The breakfast was the worst I've ever had at any hotel I've stayed at in the world. There needs to be a disclosure before they're allowed to sell their breakfast because it is a predetermined plate by them. No breakfast choice, regardless of food allergies. Their cook's version of seasoning is to pile a literal mountain of salt and pepper in one spot of the food and nowhere else. Since you pre-purchase the breakfast on Expedia before arriving, they will not refund your breakfast after you realize how bad it is on day 1. It's nice that the coin laundry is there, but there are not enough machines. Several people were waiting, and the dryers took longer than indicated.

Le personnel étaient accueillant, la chambre très propre. Nous étions avec 2 enfants en bas âge. Je dirais que c'étais un peu petit.N'hésiter pas à prendre l'option lit superposé avec des enfants Le secteur étaient parfait et à la sortie de l'hôtel, il y a un famille mart ouvert 24hrs/24. Il est à côté du parc Uneno et de ses nombreuses attractions et tres proche des stations de train.

The hotel was recommended for its convenience which it is. However, we have our daughter with us and there are many girls clubs around the corner. We could avoid this by taking a different route. The staff were kind and friendly and its close to many restaurants and shops. The train station was not more than a 15 walk.

Walking distance to several train stations, surrounded by restaurants, shops and bars, and absolutely lovely staff. The air conditioning is powerful enough to combat the humidity (September visit), the room was very spacious and the outdoor patio was a nice feature. 10/10 would recommend. They have a supply of toiletries if you need them, like toothbrushes, razors, and hairbrushes, and they provided us with luggage storage after we'd checked out. There are two different buildings, across the street from each other, so remember to check in at the main building if you're in the annex. They also have a family mart konbini attached to the main level, so you can get snacks, drinks, and whatever else you may need right there, and a short walk to beautiful Ueno Park!
