Old Town Inn

Only mishap was our room keys stopped working midway through our stay. Problem was fixed easy enough except we had to wait in line for over 30 min to get the keys reset.

We stayed 2 nights. The second day we had no coffee packets for in room coffee. The maid emptied our trash but never reclined them with bags. The shower was out of shower gel and there was only enough shampoo for one left in the dispenser.

Overall, the stay was okay. PROS are: It was clean, the staff were polite and helpful, and the room was a decent size. The bed was comfortable and the water spray in the shower was good. Our room did come equipped with a full size refrigerator, microwave and small dining table/chairs. They also have a continental breakfast in the morning which is complimentary. But just note that they do not have any scrambled eggs or bacon - or at least they did not on the day that we were there. They DID have hard boiled eggs though. CONS are: The property is VERY close to the airport, if that is why you need a hotel in this area. But it's not in a desirable part of town where I would feel comfortable walking. That said, about 1/2 mile to 1 mile away, there was a cute/nice neighborhood that I WOULD feel comfortable walking around to get dinner/drinks/etc.. But I would not feel comfortable walking from the hotel to get to that neighborhood. The property is old, but that in itself is not a deal breaker. However, the room furniture appears old, and it doesn't appear to be updated within the past 20 or 30 years - at least our room was not. There is no bathroom inside the lobby - although there is a bathroom outside of the lobby in the breezeway, for which you need a key from the front desk. There is also no restaurant/bar on the property. Again, property and rooms were very clean, staff was very nice and accommodating. But neighborhood not good for me and rooms are very dated.

We enjoyed our stay. The property is clean and very cute, and is closely located next to the trolley station so it was easy to get around. I would definitely recommend it to others and stay there again.

The area next to the hotel is unsafe. Don’t walk at night — bums, darkness, general ghetto. Nicer (not really nice but nicer) areas are very close — 3 minute drive or 5 minute walk to old town. But you have to cross the ghetto. The property is old, well maintained but still old, the staff are very helpful. My room was missing toiletries. The AC was noisy. Get a 1 king bed room — the bed is fantastic.
