I really wish the property would open its pool and hottub facility. It has been many years.

Not enough parking otherwise well maintained.

No hot tub or pool. TV didn’t work. Phone didn’t work. Couldn’t take a bath. Just wanted to relax after skiing.

The hotel is right by the hoghway, its very easy to get to downtown, the attractions and to the hotel itself. If I had 1 thing to critique, its that there isnt quite enough parking out front for the rooms. We got back from a late night dinner, and couldnt park in front of our room door, but we did manage to find the last spot avaiable a ways away.

We were happy with our room, but we were looking forward to using the pool and hot tub which were not in good condition. We were told we would just need to ask to use them and it was listed open 3-10, but when we went to use it around 8pm the front desk was closed, covers on the pools, and when we checked the temperature of the hot tub it was lukewarm at best, and the water had a grainy film on top. Other than that our stay was fine and the room comfortable, but just disappointed that we didn’t get to use the hot tub that were were looking forward to.

The room was OK, clean, good mattress, updated bathroom, but the pool and hot tub were out of order, and they were the main reason for choosing this location. There needs to be a way that Expedia can be made aware of situations like this, so that it can be mentioned on the site.

There was no hot water for shower. I was going to ask for a refund but was too tired to look for another booking. Get a plumber and get it fixed. How hard is it? The swimming pool and sauna looked turned off on purpose to save money. The water was not circulating in the pool. It looked unsafe for swimming.

All good. Sad about the pool. Was upset that we couldn’t relax in the pool. Thanks.

Very clean renovated hotel.

No hot water. Room dirty. Brown/yellow ring in toilet. Sink had a small leak. The bathroom floor was sticky. They sent a cleaner who did a small amount but didn’t touch the fridge or microwave which smelled and still had time set from the last user. The toilet still had a significant ring but at least we knew some cleaner had been used.

Stayed here one night. Had a late checkin and found an envelope in a mailbox with my room key. Bed was really comfortable. Happy with the cleanliness of the room. The room appeared to have been updated in the last 5 years.

Bathroom was unclean. Found long hair in the bedding. No water in the lobby except to purchase. Very expensive, way too expensive, for what we got

The room was dirty, socks were dirty after walking around for the evening, dead bugs and dust in the windows, bathroom faucets was visibly grimey and bathroom sink was clogged and would not drain. Pool only open 3pm-10pm so after arriving late in the evening with kids and going straight to bed they were very disappointed not to he able to use the pool in the morning before hitting the road again. This information was not provided while booking or during check-in.

The room we were given initially had a broken toilet seat and when notified they said its a minor issue and they are fully booked. I insisted for another room and the room we were given after that had a dirty toilet. please see the picture attached. At this point we had no patience after a long day to ask them again. Towels had yellow stain. Overall its not some place I would like to stay again.

The room we had appeared to be recently renovated and was very nice. Some of the furniture was functional but were from before the renovation and took away from the completeness of the renovation. The room had a small balcony that overlooks the valley. A beautiful view. All things considered, a nice place to stay.

We had a fantastic stay at this lodge! The room was clean, spacious, quiet atmosphere and convenient location. Great value for the price, and definitely recommend.

Golden Village Lodge is on the edge of the highway so is really convenient and easy to find. Our room was very comfortable and the entire lodge has recently been painted top to bottom so, looks great. The beds are super comfortable. The only downside is the sounds from the other rooms. People talking comes through the walls very clearly so this disturbed our sleep often

There was no wifi the entire stay (1night) Heater did not work although they did bring in a portable heater. Freezer in mini fridge had not been defrosted in a very long time. The heater/air condition which did not work was full of dust and dirt, had not been touched by a cleaner in a very long time. I sent photos to Expedia as well as the property requesting a refund however was denied. No more Expedia for me and obviously won't ever stay at the Golden Village Lodge again

Nice, clean, newer build property, but sound isolation isn`t the best for light sleepers - our window was facing the highway and we could hear more noise than we wanted to.

Room A/C is noisy and noise from Hwy 1. I did not get a much sleep that night as it was a hot day and the room was hot so had to run a/c. Would have been nice to have a quiet ceiling or standing fan for air movement. I found the hotel price for a crappy sleep and a long drive home the next day.

Recently renovated with comfy beds, cushy pillows, clean bathroom and thick windows to block the road noise. Would absolutely stay again, especially once they’ve got the hot tub renoed and open again.

The first room we were put in had no heat. They had a space heater that they wanted us to use which we felt was unacceptable. We were given a 2nd room which had heat but no hot water during the day. Pillows had hair on them. We ended up leaving a day early because we couldn’t even have a shower. Talked to someone at the front desk and said we would be refunded the last night since we didn’t stay but the refund never came. There is nobody available at the front desk you have to call a number and they will answer but never help you out. Pool under renovation so don’t expect to go for a swim when you’re there.

There is limited parking. We went for dinner and had to park next to the restaurant because they have limited parking. We came back to our room at 10:15 pm. The smoke alarm was beeping because it needed a new battery. I phoned the front desk and the front desk manager told me that I could wait until 11pm or change it myself. They phoned us back within 5 minutes telling us that need to change rooms. The next room is fine but the a/c unit is cheap and loud. Also, the bathroom had hair on the shower wall and floor. The second time we phoned the front desk they told us that we are not polite and that it’s our problem. My wife and I have stayed at many hotels all around Alberta and BC and this is my worst experience. Do not stay here.

Booked online unexpectedly due to the highway being closed for an accident. Customer service at check in was fine, nothing over the top. Room seemed clean enough but smelled a bit musty. Heads up the walls are paper thin and smokers smoke directly outside their rooms, so the smell of cigarettes is constant throughout your stay. When deciding to head into town for dinner, we shut our room door and by habit checked to make sure it was locked. The door opened with out use of the room key. We figured, since there’s a key hole in the handle, we must need to lock it from the inside. No, there is no lock. There is a deadbolt that can lock the door from the INSIDE but the door handle has nothing to disengage it. From the outside the door opens. I went to the front desk to see if there was a key or something we are missing about this door. The same front desk clerk acted as though I was an idiot. We asked if there was a key or something to lock the door? She told me no and offered no assistance. I asked if there were any other options and she said no and again offered no help and then said “well no one else has ever brought this up so….” The worst customer service. Do not stay here if you value Your belongings being locked in a room (room 222). Don’t recommend this place purely based on customer service.

Perfect spot for someone needing a place to stay the night during a roadtrip, or even while staying a few days in town. Nothing too fancy but has everything you need, is clean, and has comfortable beds. Really great value for what you get. It's a bit outside of the main part of town so a vehicle is needed to visit the downtown restaurants/shops/etc, but it was actually very quiet given it's just off the highway - I couldn't hear anything anyways. Easy check-in and check-out, no frills, nice people. Would definitely stay again.

Nice and clean property. Staff is good and helpful. Near to city downtown and main attraction, Sky bridge. Recommended.

Good location

Google maps not accurate on how to access the property if heading westbound on the TransCanada. Very easy to access if you take the Lafontaine Rd exit off the hwy.

We found the Golden Village Lodge to be clean and comfortable during our 1-night stay. It was literally next to the Glacier Raft Company, with whom we had booked a rafting tour. Most convenient . Not walkable to downtown Golden for meals but a short drive nonetheless. Didn't try the attached Indian restaurant but it looked nice from the outside. Overall, good value for money!

No choice on menu Not everybody likes spicy food. Think a small canadian menu is warranted.

A bit dated but everything worked fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. It’s just down the hill from Golden Skybridge and a short drive away from Kicking Horse resort if you want to do some mountain biking. It’s good if you’re on a budget. Thin walls though and the ac can be noisy so beware if you’re a light sleeper. Tip: eat at the Indian next door. You won’t regret it.

Having an Indian restaurant next to the hotel was a blessing. The view from the property is amazing.
