Plain hotel but other than the hot tub being cloudy and we couldn’t get the jets to work, our room was very clean and neat. Generous buffet breakfast included and eating area pleasant.

The bed was great, unfortunately the bathroom had someone elses hair left in it and more on the floor. The dust on the bathroom shelf was so thick i could write my nsme in it.

Very dirty , bed skirts had stains from something, the sheets had stain , they were clean but old stains , the rug in hallway was very dirty and ripped in places , the bathroom off the reception area the blower to dry your hands didn’t work . I’m not one to complain, actually I have never gave a bad review but this was bad . If this is what holiday inn express is turning into then I will be looking elsewhere I have pictures if anyone actually cares

The front desk staff was super friendly, I just couldn’t get past the smell in the hallway on the second floor. Just smelt musty and seemed pretty run down in general. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Our room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke when we checked in. We were offered another room, but it had the same smell. Staff sprayed deodorizing spray, but it didn’t help. The room was visibly dirty — splatters on the walls, lamps, bed skirts, and chairs. Overall, it felt extremely unclean and uncomfortable. Would not stay here again.

I was in room 328 and on going to bed there was a major mechanical noise that even shook the bed, so much so that I needed to call reception and request a new room. The manager was able to move us to room 231 where the noise level was better but not , I was however eventually able to sleep.

This was our first time staying here and we were very happy with this property. Room, lobby breakfast area etc were all very clean and well maintained. Good breakfast selection too. Nice selection of toiletries. Good water pressure and amenities. Only thing as with most hotels in the area you hear the highway traffic but it wasn’t too bad. We will be back for sure.

Nice newer hotel. High ceilings in room made it more spacious feeling. Four king size pillows on king bed - choice of soft or firm. Good breakfast with lots of choices, only let down by wooden disposable cutlery.

Check in took a while even with only one customer in front of us. We weren’t even acknowledged when the person at the front desk left to go upstairs to show the other customer a room layout. Poor customer service skills but otherwise our stay was as expected. Breakfast was better than other complimentary holiday inn ones we’ve had!

There was a power outage throughout the night, no fault of the hotel and the elevator was not working the next morning. This made it difficult for my husband who is handicapped but also for getting our luggage down to the car from the second floor. I would like to thank Emilio from the front desk for helping. He is a gem and friendly and efficient also.

The first impression did not go quite well, the front desk staff at the time wasn’t very pleasing and was not eager to answer some of our questions (like the location of the water fountain to refill drinking water, etc.). There wasn’t a rush of customers at the time either. I would rate the staff at the most a 3 on 5. The property and the facilities were real good and so was the location, the parking area. I would have given an overall rating of 4 if not for the behaviour of the front desk staff, and so the rating goes down to a 3.5.

This is a nice hotel, just in a run down area with fast food joints and semi trucks parked everywhere. It’s not close to the small downtown area so you have to drive and find parking. Compared to Banff and Jasper, Golden just didn’t have much going for it.

The breakfast was awful. Of all the places we have stayed this one was the worst. All the food was cold. Pancakes were fine as they had a machine that makes them for you.

The staff was pleasant and helpful, but a suggestion would be to have more gluten free options as my daughter has celiac disease and does have many options for breakfast. Also, it would be advisable if separate chafing dishes be used for eggs and meat to avoid cross contamination. Lastly, our bathroom did not have any ventilation and it became stuffy in the bathroom.

It’s better than other Holiday Inn locations I’ve stayed in. The location is very convenient to get to popular tourist attractions, dining options, and the highway. Breakfast is a bit chaotic with the staff doing their best to keep up. Seating could be limited during peak times. Room is clean and in good condition. Overall I’d stay here again.

All is great except for the pancake maker was broker and there were few choices for breakfast for my son. A little busy and it took time for them to refill the eggs, sausage and yogurt specifically during busy hours. I hope next time during busy hours more staff are they to help.
