Hampton Inn & Suites Charles Town

2 of 4 ice makers out of order. A/C in our first room did not work. A/C in second room worked periodically. Note posted in elevator advising that they did not offer daily room cleaning due to our trying times. Covid had been over for a year and that excuse does not work for me any more. Go back to the old ways or lower price.

Shuttle service is very convenient.

The property was what you would expect for this level of hotel. We traveled to visit family who live in Ranson and we do so a few times a year. We have been trying to find a hotel to make “home” during these trips. This hotel was clean, staff was super friendly and helpful and the breakfast was a good mixture of options. The rooms were clean and updated enough. The shower head was a little broken in our room and the king bed was/ pillows were not great. I did expect better quality for a chain as such. I felt like the bed/pillow quality was poor and would say it is what I would expect at a cheap motel. The only issue that truly bothered us during our stay was the outdated elevators. They did not have the proper paperwork to be actively functioning. The papers were expired by a couple years. We will attach photos. I found this surprising in a chain hotel brand and honestly made us uncomfortable going in the elevator. I did previously note that this hotel is dog friendly, which is great for people who take care of/ are with their pets for their stay. We unfortunately were next to a room where it was clear the owner was not in the room all night while the dog did nothing but bark. Maybe put people with animals on a different floor? We will consider staying again but we will try other options first as the elevator safety really rubbed up the wrong way.

Nice hotel. Great room. Good breakfast. Disappointed the pool and hot tub were closed...which was really the only reason we chose to stay there instead of a hotel with no pool or hot tub. Acrylic fingernail in the carpet when our friends checked in their room.

Check in was fast and staff were very helpful. Hotel was quiet and the beds were comfortable. Pool and hot tub area were very clean. Breakfast was fine and the breakfast staff were very efficient and accommodating. Good choice as it wasn’t far from Harpers Ferry.

sign in elevator said "due to short staff,there will be no room service for people spending the night".sunday the door at the pool said "the pool is broken"......hung my own sign....due to shortage of money,I won't be able to pay my bill!!!!.......very disappointed for the price

The staff were friendly and helpful. There is no place in the room to hang anything and I had to ask for hangers and us the hook on the back of the bathroom door. I had to request bottled water, it was not in the room. They had plenty at the front desk, but you had to go down and get it each day. The hot tub was out of order.

Well we did have what are known as stink bugs in our room, but for this time of year and the location in WV I understand from some friends that is normal. I'm not sure, but maybe rooms need to be fumigated

Overall the hotel was nice and quiet. We had an accessible room on the second floor and the entire bathroom floor would get wet from a shower. The cleaning crew mop smelled dirty which made it unpleasant after cleanup. The bathroom fan didn’t work. Breakfast and coffee were very good. Beds were comfy but pillows too soft, no extra pillows available. Air conditioning worked well and wasn’t too loud. Cleaning crew came daily which was a pleasant surprise. Drawers in room were nice and deep making it super convenient to unpack. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again.

The continental breakfast that they provide was delicious and they had plenty of options. I stayed in a room with two Queen beds. The room was spacious, as well as the bathroom. No complaints here! This hotel is clean and very well kept.

I have stayed here every year for the last several years we visit Harpers Ferry. This may be the last time I stay here. It appears the quality of the Hotel has erroded significantly this past year. The employee who checked us in during the evening and a few of the other employees were kind, the quality of the stay was average at best. There was mold in the corner of the shower, and the shower walls had a slime feeling the made me gag. So I did not get a shower that evening. The breakfast was the same I saw at a Holiday in Express a few days earlier in Kentucky. The bed was like a cement block. Sorry I will not come back.

The outside of the building is fine but the rooms need some updating. The hallways smelled musty and like cigarette smoke. We saw mold on the wall. The air conditioning in the room was the old style that blew some cold air but was so loud and vibrating we could not sleep. The air was moist and clammy which contributed to the mustiness of the room.

All around a great hotel. Very clean with friendly staff. Free breakfast was better than most. I highly recommend.

The king bed was comfortable. The tv was straight in front of the bed and you could only watch it from the bed. There was a chair by the entrance wall but it was not near the tv to view the TV. The heater/air conditioner was noisy. It came on every 15 minutes even for a 66 degree temp. It started out quiet and then the rattling vibration increased. It kept me awake until I finally turned it off.

The only downside was that the room was 77° the whole time even with the cold air fan on and you couldn’t adjust it. We left early because we needed some cool air.

The staff was fantastic! We wanted to thank JJ, Mary and Jennifer the cook. They went above and beyond to make our stay great. The pool and Jacuzzi were awesome after walking around the casino all day. Our bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. The only suggestion I would have is to invest in upgrades to the rooms. The chairs in our room have seen better days:) but easily overlooked by the courreus staff. Thank you all.

When we checked in we noticed our a/c was not working. Room was hot, around 80 degrees. Informed front desk but informed we would not be moved to another room due to availability. Our sleep/stay was terrible. We checked out a day early the next day due to the heat. We were not comped the stay.

Everything was great with one exception - the pillows. They just had no density. When you put your head on them, they just completely flattened. I used three and still could not get comfortable. Take your own pillow and your stay will be wonderful!

Our room was clean. The bathroom wallpaper was tired and there was a large noticeable crack in the shower tile. Other than that, the staff was very friendly and professional. We would stay there again.

Folks were nice, bfast was good, room was just meh. Couldn’t control the temp very well, even with wall thermostat.

Upgraded room because of an issue. Will book again.

We stayed for 2 nights. The staff was extremely friendly and nice. They also had complimentary water and in the evening they would put out chocolate chip cookies. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfortable.

We were woke up twice in the middle of the night as smoke alarm was going off. I would have given this hotel an excellent review if it were not for that. They didn't even apologize to us in the morning for this disruptive sleep.

The front desk attendants were very friendly and provided great suggestions on restaurants. The two women who run the breakfast buffet were incredible. Very friendly, helpful, eager to please, great attention to details and a wonderful experience in the mornings. The. Service they provide is enough to lure travelers to return to this Hampton Inn !

Our a/c did not work properly in our room. We called the front desk and they moved us to an adjacent room that was also an upgrade. Excellent front desk service. Will stay there again.

The staff worked hard to keep the property clean. They went out of their way to make sure our needs were met. All of them were so friendly.

Very nice property convenient to the Charles Town Casino and a short drive from downtown Ranson and Harpers Ferry. Rooms were clean and spacious. Would definitely stay here again.

Very quiet and conveniently located. We always stayed near Harper's Ferry but the Hampton Inn is only a few miles away and it's much nicer than anything in Harper's Ferry. The staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good and filling. Pool was very nice.

My husband & I stayed 3 nights in the hotel It was nice to have breakfast included. We walked to an excellent Japanese restaurant. Had to drive a short distance for other places to eat and the major sites. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Very convenient location. We walked across the street to a Japanese restaurant and had transportation back and forth to the casino. All the staff were awesome !

We usually choose Hampton Inn for the breakfast. Don't choose this one if you prefer a good breakfast. I'd rather go across the street to IHOP.

The lobby was very welcoming and beautifully decorated for the Christmas holiday. The staff were very friendly, the room was immaculate. The included breakfast had lots of food options. An overall great stay!

Friendly staff/ very clean. Internet was very patchy and the breakfast definitely needs improvement. Some of the cooked options were not very appealing.
