Staff were very professional and responsive. Was given a bottle of water and because I ride a motorcycle the offered a small piece of plywood for under the kickstand and some windex and microfibre towels to clean the bugs off the windscreen. This property is very well maintained and there has been a lot of attention paid to little details. Would recommend.

Older property, but super clean. No problem with having semi trucks park. Friendly and accommodating staff. Even though it is right on a main road my room was quiet. Will definitely stay here again.

For a vintage motel, this place offers a lot. Good value, very clean rooms and grounds, (incl the many beautiful flowers), outside chairs, friendly service, great parking & right on Hwy 17. This is my 3rd time staying here since 2021 and it'll be my go to place next time I'm in the area. There's a great Roadhouse restaurant two doors over with a varied menu and delicious food. Timmy's is at the next corner, although there's a coffee pot in the room. I highly recommend this motel.

Poor guy ahead of us, trying to check in with a dog. He was refused a room. The cashier told us “I just work here” and said No Pets Allowed. After we checked in, a loud German Shepherd was heard barking from a room nearby. Obviously staff with the laundry room door open.

Cleanliness was impeccable! Comfort very relaxing and quiet. Motel obviously takes pride in providing an excellent service. Never stayed here before, will never stay anywhere else! Unfortunately not pet friendly but probably one of the reasons it was so well maintained.

I've stayed here a few times on business trips and it is perfect. The owners are fabulous and their hospitality is wonderful. The rooms and property are spotless and they pride themselves on their cleanliness. As a frequent traveller across Canada, the Trunk Road Motel is my favourite!

An exceptional little motel that I would highly recommend for a night or two stop over. Biggest and only issue was that bathroom door did not close properly. Obviously a simple maintenance item that did not cause any real issues with our stay. Bed is extremely comfortable, room was spotless and well appointed. I will be staying there again next time I am in t Sault Ste Marie

First, the manager or owner is fantastic. The office closes at ten but he stayed late because I was getting there late. He was friendly and cheery. Took great care of me and another traveller. Offered us bottles of water, and got me into my room in minutes. Can’t say enough about him. The room was another story. While the bathroom looked updated and towels and soap were clean, the bedroom area was a little dirty. I couldn’t bring myself to step on the carpet. There was a bit of a smell coming from the a/c. Overall, the room needs serious upgrades. The staff is the best thing about the motel.

Its a little dated but absolutely spotless. Parking was right at my door. Cute bathroom, clean linen, windows opened! I loved my stay. I was so comfortable. Watched the leafs make round two there! Great memory. Definitely recommend and I will be staying there again. Thank you!!

While this is an older building it’s been well cared for and has had some renovations. The room was spotlessly clean. Everything smelled fresh and clean. I’d stay here again. Only thing I don’t recommend is the pizza from the pub next door.

Check-in was great! Very friendly, service with a smile! Appreciated two free bottles of water. There was a smell in the room but I brought air freshener with me. So all good. The only issue is that the bathroom door will not close for privacy.( Room #6) Also we normally leave the bathroom door slightly open for a bit of light at night but decided not to because the light is attached to the fan so it was quite loud. A little pricy for one night. A Plus : great location for fast food, gas and grocery.

Staff was incredibly nice! My only minor issue was the room temperature. We’re currently entering the cold season so when I arrived and the heat was off all the way, the room was frigid. I turned the heat up and it took a couple hours to fully warm up inside. BRRRR!

Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, even the walls looked recently painted. Bed was comfortable and furniture was in good condition. I stayed an extra day. Good restaurant next door and a Tim Hortons a short walk away.

A no-frills or amenities budget motel to be sure, but clean and comfortable. There is no access to staff. The office door is locked 24:7 and the manager is quite abrupt and unhelpful with respect to any questions. Definitely would NOT recommend.

In morning, I went out for breakfast and when ai came back my room was open and they were cleaning it but I didn’t checked out. I asked them what’s going on, they said your car was not parked here so we thought you left. That was so disappointing as the check out time is 11 am buy I went out around 9 am and I didn’t even return the key of room but still they thought I left. It doesn’t make any sense, my stuff was still in the room and they opened my room without my permission. It makes the experience worse. I will not recommend this motel to anyone ever.

An over 50 years motel renovated with clean and decent room. Spacious inside with lots of parking space outside and a noisy bar nearby. Close to main road and could be noisy at time but not noisier as the a/c inside room. Good choice for sleep-&-run travellers.

Owner provided extraordinary customer service. Place Has a Bottle Rocket Owen Wilson vibe. Great find away from downtown. On the main Trunk Road right by restaurants, grocery store and gas stations. Listed on the tourist office map number 26. Shower - bathroom seems fresh and I like the shale like design. Bedroom area freshly painted - looks spiffy Tv, desk, drawers, microwave, coffee pot ( we made a tea pot) fridge, hangers, luggage rack and 6 hooks on the wall ( which we found handy) WIFI Pleasantly surprised by this affordable gem

Affordable and clean hotel. The owner was very friendly and it was a quick check in. Room was clean and comfortable with a big TV with cable. Air conditioner worked well as it was a very hot day. The owner has a big and very friendly dog that barks when people arrive, so I felt very safe at night that no one would be messing around with my car. Excellent place would definitely stay here again.
