Hotel Elcient Kyoto Hachijoguchi

We found this place to be our best stay other than the washroom (explain below). We stayed 8 nights. It was ultra convinent and about 2 mins to Shinkansen gate for our day trips from Kyoto. Right below the entrance is a 7-11 to pick up snacks and drinks before heading back for a good night's rest or on the go in the morning. The other two things that really shone for us were the cleaning staff and how meticulous they were at cleaning and you become spoiled, as were so disgusted the moment we arrived to our Tokyo hotel seeing grime and mildew. Next what we thought was amazing were their Japanese breakfast buffet. Great quality and variety compared to the 3 hotels we stayed in Kyoto from past trips. Beds and pillows were comfy and we fell a sleep non problem every night (our room did face the interior so no view and no traffic noise). Now the one caveat is the washrooms are small! I wonder if the future renos (noted for 2026) will fix that. Toilet faces a wall with about 1.5' of leg room at most. If you're over 5' 10" you may find find it crampy (literally) as my son experienced. We made use of the laundry facility that was convinent and browsed manga from their library. We never found time to use their spa though I did see a lot of guests go, not our thing after a hot summer day. Definitely return to this hotel in future for the convinence to Kyoto station, cleaniness and amazing breakfast buffet.

It is close to the Kyoto Station, easy access to trains, metro and bus. The onsen is small compare to the hotel size but better than none. Dinning area always packed with people and need to queue up to be seated and for the food. More western option for breakfast would be perfect.

Their large public bath is excellent.

当日チェックイン時間過ぎてからの検索予約でしたがスムーズにチェックインできました。部屋はコンパクトですが泊まるには充分ですし、清潔感もありました。ユニットバスなので部屋でお風呂は厳しいですが大浴場があって疲れもとれました。 朝食バイキング付きでこの価格はお勧めです。 ただし、駐車場は一晩別途料金がかかります。

京都駅に近くお土産を買うのも食べる店もあり便利 写真で見るより部屋のバスタブが小さいのが残念 ホテルの駐車場に一度入ると出し入れする毎にお金がかかるのも残念

Very clean, great amenities like spa, option to dine and coin laundry. They also have coun changer. The laundry has an app so you can watch and wait in your room. You set up your pin code so you’re the only one who can access the machine. Very affordable but good quality.

大浴場が広くサウナもあって広さも申し分ないくらいにくつろげるので満点でした。

Clean and spacious room

The location of this hotel is perfect. Coming from KIX, the airport bus stops on the opposite side of the road so you only need to cross. There are numerous conbini within a 5-7 mins walk and Kyoto bus and main train station are just as close by. The staff here were pleasant and helpful when I needed to ship my luggage to Tokyo. A couple of areas to improve though, behind the TV was very dusty (I had a Chromecast that I wanted to plug in but didn't in the end), bathrooms need toilet brushes and there should be a mechanism to override and remove clothes if someone has left their laundry in the machine. My biggest gripe was there are 4 machines in each of the laundry rooms (2 in the main building and 1 in the other)..the hotel caters to a large number of people so it's very selfish when someone leaves their washed and dried laundry in a machine for 91 mins (it poss was slightly more but when I checked a while later it had been removed). As you lock the door with a unique 4 digit number , reception are unable to do anything. It would be helpful if the system was changed to asking for room numbers (over a unique set of numbers)or your key card was used to beep and secure the machine. This would enable reception to trace people and call them. It seems ridiculous that reception can not do anything ! It was quite annoying as esp when other machines are in use

The first room I was booked in had a terribly funky odor. Thankfully the staff was understanding, investigated, and provided me with a new room. The breakfast buffet is nice with a lot of options. And the public bath is also nice, but can get a little over crowded with the limited size and amount of guests, even on a weekday at midnight. The ventilation/air was very dirty, it looks like the filters don't get cleaned often and are very dusty.

職員冷漠，流水式商務酒店，詢問服務設施，職員語氣不感覺友善，男的女的都一樣。酒店在JR旁，門口有車站，離河原町有距離，便捷住一晚還可以，超過一晚並不建議。酒店裡自助式check in&out，自駕要職員幫忙收駐車費用，感覺並不願意配合，也許職員也太依賴機器進行服務吧。太冰冷的酒店，不會再入住了。本館的房間地氈也清潔不乾淨。

全体の評価として良かったのです。 大浴場は混み合ってましたが、 あるだけでも満足でした。 朝食もとても満足しました。 残念だったのは、空気清浄機＆除湿機が誇りがひどくて利用できませんでした。 側面にある痛風口？ その部分に埃がビッシリとついて、 衛生的に怖くて利用できませんでした。 全てにおいて綺麗に管理されていると思ったのですが、中々気付かないところが 目についてしまいましたので、 星一つ引かせて頂きました。 立地も申し分ないので、また機会があれば 利用はしてみたいです

I spent one night here due to the proximity of Kyoto station. Property was decent for the most part. Property was very clean and near places of interest. A few important things about the room. Outlets are 2 pronged, so that could be problematic. My biggest concern was access to electricity. In order to power the room you had to insert your key card and leave it there. When inserted power came on and when removed it went off. The problem with this is to turn of the lights you had to remove the card, that in turn shut off electricity to outlets. This made it impossible to charge any electronic devices, very odd set up.

The stay at the hotel was great, Kyoto is wonderful. The hotel's location is fantastic, directly across form the airport bus depot. Th breakfast buffet is well stocked and offers some nice local options. The only problem was that we had three people, and the double room was turned into a triple by putting an extra bed in. We cold not easily move in the room. Staff was friendly and nice. I would stay here again if we had one or two people.

Pros: Hotel Elcient is conveniently located across from Kyoto Station. It’s a 3 minute walk which was perfect after long days of sightseeing and walking around. There’s also a mall very closely located that was fun to shop at, eat at, and do arcade/purikura at. Overall, the location of this hotel is EXCELLENT. Cons: don’t be cheap like I was and book a smoking room just because it’s available and cheap. I checked out a day early due to the smoke. That was completely my decision but I’ve seen others consider it, don’t do it!!! Also, there is no air conditioning which made the room very hot. I tried opening my window but it provided very little ventilation. There was also a sign in the elevator about the air conditioning system being a heating system instead. I hope they are able to fix it.

The accommodation itself is really good because the location is brilliant. Just 200m walk to Kyoto Station. BUT if you are traveling as a party of three and are looking for a 3-bed room, you will quickly be disappointed. We booked the 3-bed standard room because we were dazzled by the photos on the homepage. Marketing at its best. To even offer such a thing is a cheek. There really are 3 beds next to each other. There is absolutely NO space between the beds. Simply the 2-bed room with a 3rd bed. A joke! We had to put our 3 suitcases at the foot of the bed because otherwise there is no more space in the room. So you can only get into bed from the foot end via the suitcases. Going to the toilet at night wakes everyone up. Regarding the toilet: It's also very small. Staff speak reasonably good English. Communication was no problem. The reception was friendly and very helpful when we sent a suitcase to Tokyo. Breakfast was a wide variety of japanese food and european food. Room is kind of old and front desk is not friendly

Hotel is clean. Close to station. Rooms and bathrooms are very small. Other people might prefer a hard bed. I have a bad back and woke up with a terrible back pain from the bed being so hard. The pillows are also very hard. Check-in and out is all electronic and feels impersonal, although staff is there to assist with any questions and most of them speak some basic English that allows some sort of communication.

チェックインの時に、従業員の方の態度が不愉快でした。不愛想で笑顔もなく、不親切でした。同行した友人も不愉快な態度をされたそうです。接客業なのでもう少し、気持ち良く過ごせるように配慮があってもいいと思いました。

Staffs are accomodating and has an English speaking staff. Place is clean. It’s conveniently near bus stops coming from International airport and tour buses as well as the train station. Nearby a convenience store. And if you want to dine-out, there are lots of them at the train station including McDonalds in which you won’t miss on your way to the hotel. Will definitely recommend to family and friends. Big thank you to El Cient.

Front desk service was friendly and effective. Thanks to them to help receiving my purchase orders.

Check-in is via a automated kiosk. The kiosk was unable to process a foreign (US) credit card. I was directed to the front desk, which seemed at a loss of what to do. It took sometime, but after about 20 or so minutes, they were able to take my VISA card.

Basic hotel with all the essentials provided. Highly recommended if you just need a hotel for staying over at night. Excellent location with a 7-11 round the corner and a minute’s walk from the station. We did not book breakfast as there are plenty of choices outside.

Veery nice hotel conveniently situated near the railway station which suited my travel plans. Small room but clean and well serviced. Very nice breakfast which was well organised for seating availability in the dining room. Recommended hotel +++

Exactly why you would expect from this type of Japanese hotel - clean, efficiently run with typically compact rooms. What stood out were the thermal baths, the extensive buffet breakfast (included in the price) and its location next to the main station - ideal for transport connections.

Transportation is very convenience and the breakfast is suitable for me to eat .
