We had a wonderful stay at Mithra Cave Hotel in Göreme, Cappadocia! Mithra Cave Hotel has excellent views of the balloons! It’s definitely got great patios, good “cave vibes” and the rooms were nice. The restaurant food was good too! We did a private breakfast to watch the balloons and it was amazing as well.

1日だけの利用でしたが、到着してから屋上がクリーニング中と言われ、ディナーやバー利用が出来ませんでした。屋上でのアクティビティを楽しみにしていた為残念だったと受付の方に伝えると、「で？」と言う返事が返ってきました。少しくらい不便をかけたとの言葉があってもよかったのではと思います。また屋上の真下の部屋だった為、クリーニングの水が部屋まで浸水してきたのと、深夜まで物音がすごかったです。クリーニングは仕方ないことなので、その日は下の部屋のみお客さんを入れない等の対応が必要かと思いました。あと部屋は2つありましたが、1つは冷房がなく扇風機のみで少し暑かったです。

The room is beautiful, spacious and clean. I loved that there are so many terraces in the hotel that you can sit and enjoy the view. I was able to watch hot air balloon by simply stepping out of my room. My favorite part of the hotel is the library area. It's a semi indoor cave room with vintage furniture, and a small area where you can play chess. The room and the common area really made me feel like I live in caves. The service of the hotel, however, could be improved. There were two tissue box in the room, one had a few left and one was empty. I thought they would be replenished during housekeeping the next day but they weren't. After two days, the toilet paper also ran out and it took a few hours to get them to send some to our room. The room has a nice and large bathroom, but it seems that the ceiling of the bathroom is falling apart. There were some dust and small particles of cave stone falling constantly, and visible cracks. I hope it will be properly maintained for safety. Overall I enjoyed my time in the hotel, and would like to come back next time.

The highlights of Mithra included the view, the location, and their restaurant for dinner specifically (the manti was supreme). Otherwise, the quality of this hotel was more on the fair to poor side. We arrived before checkin and were please we only had to wait a short while for our room - but other than this the service was lackluster. We were often told my staff they couldnt help with something - like when we asked for additional towels. The room did not come with an iron or ironing board but they did bring us one - though the ironing board was torn to shreds. The bed was hard and pillows were flat. The room did not have enough lighting. Additionally, the shower drastically overflowed and flooded the entire bathroom - when we told reception they said “its okay” rather than fix it. So our bathroom was flooded nearly the entire stay between morning and evening showers (there was an additional drain next to the toilet). The cleanliness of the hotel also left something to be desired. There was a dirty glass coffee cup outside of our room that was there when we checked in and remained there until after we checked out. Cappadoccia is a beautiful place and I was excited to stay here but if I were to return I would choose a different hotel. Sultan Cave Suites or Kelebek were both nearby and both much better.

It was okay. Not the best. it was not clean. The toilet, jacuzzi and the bed was really dirty. There was hair on the bed and in the jacuzzi. There was hairs on the towels too. The breakfast was old. Its better to eat breakfast outside the hotel. If you want a hotel with good location and with a view of the balloons, then this is the hotel. But everything else was bad. The staff was super nice.

Seeing Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip and stayed 3 night in this hotel. Located on a high ground of Goreme with stunning panoramic view to the entire valley. One of the best place to see the early morning hot air balloons flying over the city. The hotel setting is excellent with every room is different in shape and confriguration, and the real cave room, the one I had, was an unique experience to me. Cave room do not have air-conditioning and bathroom exhaust is not good enough. And the cave do shatter dust and small rocks everyday. Food in the roof top restaurant is mediocre. Staff is excellent, friendly and helpful, with the Front desk man named Alp spoke a little bit brunt.

The hotel has a very nice location with only 5-10min walk to everything, even to the Sunset Viewpoint! My friend and I spent 2 nights in the cave room just next to the reception. Everything was fantastic except for the internet condition: the only available Wi-Fi was from the reception, but it was too weak to connect. Even though we wanted to switch to use our mobile data instead, there’s no 4G signal in the room neither…

The room that we got was so different from the pictures. It was so tiny. Compared with $378 we paid, it’s not worth at all. We checked in at 1am. we just thought that’s only 3-4 hour sleep. If we check in normal time, we would have to complain it. Luckily we got Milat for the second night. It’s cheaper and much more comfortable. We paid only $110 and breakfast was so much better. If you looking for the best hotel in Cappadocia, you better give this hotel as your last choice.

When we checked in, we saw there was a big fan inside the room and the air conditioner obviously was not working. However, the staffs in the hotel keep telling us it was fine and refused to change the room for us despite it was 35 degrees outside in Cappadocia. We were staying in a room without air conditioning for one day which was absolutely not acceptable. If the hotel doesn’t know the air conditioning is not working, they won’t put a fan in the room perhaps? Hope they can fix the air conditioner next time before letting people get in.

The cave we checked in the roof was leaking water. I asked to switch to a different room and was told no room available. I think the room was leaking water before we checked in. They should not host any guest if the cave roof room is leaking waterr.!

Easy and smooth check in and check out. Staff was extremely sweet and room was very clean. Many dining options 5 minutes away walking. However, it is up a hill so must be comfortable walking at an incline to and from the main strip of restaurants. Can’t wait to come back!!

Our experience was below expectations for the price paid and hotel star rating. The service seems great at first because of the warm welcome. The staffs would always promised to take care of our concerns or issues but simply end up ignoring our requests. Although the breakfast was free, we were only there once because we did not our experience because of the bees on our food. We had a nice room with a spectacular view of the region. However, our front door was used as a dumpster for all the outdoor furnitures when it rains, making it a very unpleasant experience. Even after multiple complaints, the staffs would only take care of it once. After few frustration, we were simply let it go because of the obvious inaction or attempt to ignore our requests. The hotel overall looks really nice and charming. We enjoy taking pictures on the terrasse. Since it is located at the top of the hill, please expect to do some walk-up every time you visit the village at the bottom. Activities in the region is quite entertaining, but pricey for what you get.

We stayed at Mithra Cave Hotel for two nights and absolutely loved it. The cave room was stunning and full of character, and the views from the rooftop were the best we saw in Cappadocia—perfect for watching the hot air balloons. I proposed to my fiancée on the private terrace, and the staff were incredibly helpful in organising everything, which made it even more special. The service, setting, and atmosphere were all exceptional. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay—highly recommend to anyone visiting Cappadocia!

This post is dated August 9th 2025. We traveled from the United States. We booked Mithra Cave hotel for 2 nights after reading the reviews. The room was not as described on hotels.com. False advertising. The fairy chimney room has no windows but the rooms pictures showed hot air balloons. The morning breakfast was stale. We checked in to our room and saw that it had no windows and it was absolutely claustrophobic. We immediately requested a new room and the staff stated it wasn’t available. My wife and I checked out of this hotel within 2 hours of checking in. We found another hotel to stay. We requested the hotel to charge us for 1 night and refund the second night (the room cost us around $350 a night) as we thought it was fair. The staff said that they will speak to the manager and call us about the refund. We haven’t received a call yet. I opened a case with hotels.com. The pictures were a scam to lure customers in. You can only see the view from the hotel property. Not from the rooms. You can find hotels without a view in cappadocia for approximately $120 a night. We lost our money for 2 nights. We moved to Kelebek hotel instead. The rooms were as advertised.

It was okay. Not the best. it was not clean. The toilet, jacuzzi and the bed was really dirty. There was hair on the bed and in the jacuzzi. There was hairs on the towels too. The breakfast was old. Its better to eat breakfast outside the hotel. If you want a hotel with good location and with a view of the balloons, then this is the hotel. But everything else was bad. The staff was super nice.

Everything was perfect! The staff the food the hospitality was all great! The view from the roof top to see the balloons is probably one of the best there is in all of the area. Very impressed

Seeing Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip and stayed 3 night in this hotel. Located on a high ground of Goreme with stunning panoramic view to the entire valley. One of the best place to see the early morning hot air balloons flying over the city. The hotel setting is excellent with every room is different in shape and confriguration, and the real cave room, the one I had, was an unique experience to me. Cave room do not have air-conditioning and bathroom exhaust is not good enough. And the cave do shatter dust and small rocks everyday. Food in the roof top restaurant is mediocre. Staff is excellent, friendly and helpful, with the Front desk man named Alp spoke a little bit brunt.
