Sleep Inn & Suites Grand Forks Near Alerus Center

The pool and spa were closed which is what we wanted for our younger grandchildren. We did not check in and did not use the facility. We changed our plans and found other accomodations. We are disappointed that we were charged for a room we did not use.

Pool was not working.

Everything was great other then we went to use the pool the morning before we left and it was closed due to improper water chemistry.

The staff were excellent, polite and helpful. However, the property is not well cared for. There were garbage bags in the hall, empty shampoo in the room, dead batteries in the tv remote, out of most food and breakfast and the food there was cold. The pool chemicals seemed off balance and too strong meaning we couldn’t spend much time in that area with out having burning eyes.

Pool is closed for “resurfacing” yet we were not informed of this until checking in. Pool appears to be fully operable, yet still remains closed.

Hotel asks for 10 rating and asks to let staff know if any problems. I told front desk about black Mold around the tub to which she just said “oh they are redoing the top floor next week” and then that’s it. I know the hotel wasn’t full and so apparently bc I booked on the wrong week I have to put up with black mold? I also reported that my toilet seat moved around and after two nights- it still wasn’t fixed! No fan in bathroom so it’s super hot and moist. Beds had full winter blankets on them which made it super uncomfortable in the heat despite having AC On. Housekeeping staff in the halls were lovely! Front staff (especially the one lady who I mentioned the above items) made me feel like whit for telling her about the room and black mold. I didn’t appreciate that!

We have stayed here frequently since it first opened. It has always been quiet, comfortable and very very clean, which is what we enjoyed most. Unfortunately this time it was not clean and that really affected our stay here. Our room had wet carpets and a wet musty smell. Walking barefoot by the bed actually made your feet wet. I informed the front desk. The pool area had garbage that was not cleaned out entire two night stay. There was pizza and takeout boxes in the garbage can by the elevator on our floor that was never emptied. It was not a good experience. We travel to grand forks very often, but after this experience we will be looking at other hotel options.

Clean and quiet. Welcome staff was efficient and kind.

The sleeping room was clean and well equipped as expected. The bathroom, though, needed a deeper clean which we shared with the hotel management. Front desk service was helpful.

The Hotel was fairly dirty in hallway, lobby and room was fine, but shower was very clogged and bathroom was showing age.

Great central location in Grand Forks with easy access to shopping, dining, the Alerus Center, and I29. Comfortable beds with the normal amenities you expect from a hotel. Only recommendation is for stricter guidelines for the hotel room bathrooms as our shower had some mildew in the corners.

Hotel was easy to find, check in was simple. Room was as expected, but kinda felt we could hear everything in room next to us (coughs, talking, etc). Breakfast was quiet and offered several options.

Walls are too thin and room next doors tv was left on volume on high most of the night. Had to involve front desk staff at 3 am twice to have them turn it off. Least to say I didn’t sleep!

Property was easily accessible, near interstate, and plenty of dining options close by, however, I chose this hotel due to the wifi speed. What it claimed and what I got were two totally different realities. I needed fast Internet to conduct work and attend video meetings. Upon arrival, I got myself situated and fired up my laptop. I always run a speed test after checking in, and this one was abysmal. After several speed tests on WiFi and attempts to plug into the keystone jack on the wall(not connected to the hotel network), and trying public DNS addresses from Google and Amazon servers, I only managed to reach download speeds of 8mb/s and uploads of 12mb/s, with an average ping of 334ms. This MIGHT have worked for a meeting, but after opening teams and connecting to the meeting I saw my speeds drop to 1mb/s download and 3mb/s upload... I ended heading to a nearby restaurant with wifi and using earbuds. Internet speed aside, the room was clean and well kept. Bed was pretty good as far as hotel standards are concerned. TV was small and had limited viewing options, as well as occasional connection issues(likely the same reason for Internet connectivity problems). If I had to stay again for business, I'd probably pass on this hotel given the chance internet would be this poor. If I just needed a bed in a convenient location, I'd stay. Hope this helps someone else traveling for business.

It was just ok. The room thermostat is locked at 71. It was uncomfortable to us. The breakfast was terrible. The staff was just ok this time. Usually much better. We have stayed here before and received better service.

Good breakfast. Comfortable bed. Clean. Rooms close to the highway can be noisy. Sink water pressure was poor. Wifi was spotty.

The motel was good. The rooms are not soundproof at all. The noise in the hallway was very loud.

The hotel was average. Breakfast was average. Staff at the front desk weren't helpful when I politely asked if we could have shampoo and conditioner because it was empty in our room (It was the kind built in on the shower wall). They never refilled it and I asked after breakfast and we didnt get back until later in the evening. It was disappointing coming back to our room to find they were still empty when the kids needed to shower before bed. We had to run to the store to get our own. Staff never seemed to be at the front desk for assistance. I am sure they are understaffed like everywhere else.

The beds were very comfortable and Charlee who checked us in was very helpful and made the experience fun and friendly! Will stay here again as it was very clean

there are not enough superlatives in Webster’s dictionary to do service to this excellent hotel. The most comfortable bed imaginable. Spotlessly clean. Quiet. The breakfast was probably the best breakfast I’ve ever had at a hotel in the United States. It was epic!!! the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again and again and again whenever the occasion rises

Upon arrival, no staff were at the desk. Myself and four other parties were in the lobby waiting for at least 15 minutes, even after “ringing the bell.” I finally called the motel and told the lady who answered there were several people trying to check in. Check in went quickly once someone came to the desk. Check out is actually 11am per a printed paper on the check in desk. It was originally noon, which my reservation showed. Be sure to check your reservation or you will be charged an additional 10.00 per hour after 11am.

The manager that checked us in and out was very friendly and even pushed our check out time to early afternoon in case we couldn’t get out of town due to roads.

Great customer service

The dark haired lady at the front desk on Monday and Tuesday had a very bad attitude. I requested a room change due to excessive noise from the office door, next to our room. I went to her three times and she always had an excuse. In the afternoon, I asked the other blonde haired gal named Carlee, I believe. In five minutes, she had contacted the manager, confirmed and completed a room change for us. She had excellent customer service skills.

If you want a hotel where you can walk to restaurants and shopping this is not for you. Be cause it is about a 3 minute extra drive it is not as popular. We loved that it was not too busy. The pool, hottub and breakfast bar were never busy. We had friends come for a visit and we stayed in the super comfy lobby to visit. There was lemon water and coffee available 24/7. Super quiet at night, really enjoyed the stay, we will go there again.

I appreciated the 12pm check out time, and the 3pm check in time. A little more accommodating than other hotels - Pleasantly impressed by my overnight stay there. Only bummer was the noise of the interstate nearby, but that is what it is; the hotel cannot control.

I decided on this hotel, instead of the several nearby, because the breakfast reviews were very good. I was disappointed with the quality and variety of the breakfast. The eggs scrambled were lukewarm and soggy, very few bread options and the pancake machine makes rubbery, bad tasting, pancakes. The rooms are basic but clean.

Nice clean, well-kept hotel. No customer service for breakfast. Eggs and pancakes were empty. Nobody watching the breakfast area or maintaining same. No recycling in rooms.
