Stayed 1 night

Our room reeked of fryer grease from the attached Pizza and Chicken establishment. The smell was progressively worse as the night went on. Very unpleasant smell and made one in our room feel ill. The room needed new carpet…several deep marks and looked very well used. The walls had marks of previous decor with new paint over them, but not filled in. The bed was the only positive thing about the room. The lobby has been remodeled but it makes the rest of the property look very shabby. We stayed on an event weekend in town, so the usual rate of around $100 was $300 for our stay. Terrible rate for what we had to smell all day and night. We could not be moved due to the full capacity. We simply will not recommend or be staying at a Baymont in the future. The ownership group has lovely hotels in Bismarck, but this one can’t be considered lovely at all. Breakfast was very standard for a low budget hotel.

Stayed 1 night

Our experience at the Baymont by Wyndham Grand Forks was extremely disappointing. Check-in was scheduled for 4:00 p.m., and we arrived around 5:00 p.m. only to be told that there were no rooms available. I explained to the staff that our room had already been paid for in full. Unfortunately, the staff member on duty was very unprofessional and simply told us to check back in an hour. We were in Grand Forks for a concert and needed time to get ready. My partner went back to the front desk to ask about our room and was told that we were “at the bottom” of the list. Because of this, we had to go to a friend’s hotel just to get ready for the concert. At approximately 7:00 p.m., I called the hotel and was told that the room still was not ready. We eventually checked in after the concert, which was extremely frustrating and completely defeated the purpose of having a hotel room before the event. When we finally checked into the room at 11 pm, there were no towels available, and overall, the room was not impressive for the amount we paid for one night. We asked for a late check out and was told NO. We asked if there would be some type of credit or compensation again NO. The biggest issue was not only the condition of the room, but the poor customer service, lack of communication, and failure to have a paid room ready at the advertised check-in time. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend staying here and would not choose this hotel again.
