The hotel was very nice and clean. Beds were very comfortable. Close to the boardwalk/beach. You can hear the music from the amusement park right behind the hotel. We were not bothered by it but some families may not like it. The only thing we missed was a coffe maker.

This place is a perfect stay with kids. Right next to castaway cove yet quiet. Once inside, you hear nothing. Also steps away from the boardwalk and places to eat. Our stay was very clean. The pool was nice and well kept and the staff was helpful as well.

Excellent place for vacation. One minor inconvenience was parking for a couple of reasons. 1) Not enough parking space per number of rooms that are close to the actual hotel rooms although, overflow parking is available across street. 2) The width of the parking spaces are a bit too narrow to freely open car doors when cars are parked next to each other.

Great overnight stay with my son for a quick beach trip. Parking is challenging in the area but they do have several different lots nearby to accommodate guests! SO close to the beach, and staff are friendly and accommodating.

Front desk staff was great and our room was ready an hour early. Room was mostly clean but quite old. Some fixtures and furniture looked dirty - like the sofa. Mold could be seen around the premises. But the stay was overall nice. Was a good place to stay in a pinch.

I have been going to the Impala for at least one week a year since I was born in 1980. All I can say is that it’s the first and only place I look at and stay when I plan the trip!! The location is phenomenal, the staff is beyond friendly, and it’s absolutely spotless!! If I could change one thing it would be a hot tub by the pool but if that’s my only “complaint.” I’ll take it! Don’t miss out on this place for your stay. You will never be sorry!

Disappointed After 40+ Years of Visits I’ve been coming to this hotel in OCNJ for over forty years, and it’s upsetting to see how far it’s declined. Outside the rooms, there’s a strong smell of urine, and the pool area is in poor shape — chipped, broken, and clearly neglected. We also saw people walking around the property smoking marijuana, which was disturbing and not what you’d expect in a family-friendly environment. For the cost of staying here, it should be significantly cleaner and better maintained. To be fair, the room itself was clean, the air conditioning worked well, and the carpet appeared newer. But the exterior of the property needs serious attention. Very disappointing overall. I know we’re paying for convenience and location but I was disappointed.

The property is in the process of updating its rooms, I had the renovated room but two in my family did not-- the original rooms are not in good shape It was clean but the lobby was not welcoming ( and needs updating) Also, it should be clear that there are two qualities of rooms and that there are two Impala Inns ( one which is newer and with kitchens) Finally, parking is an issue Found parking but often questionable as to whether a space will be available. Still, extremely well located to the beach and boardwalk

Paper thin walls. Couldn’t get a decent night’s sleep. Tub drained slowly even when using the shower. So slow that there was a gross film around the tub. Bathroom fan sounded like a truck’s engine. Mini fridge but no microwave. Bottom line, the room was depressing.

It is an older beach motel, but the room was very clean and comfortable. Gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it’s very close to two roller coasters so there’s a noise issue when they’re running. Carpeting needs to be updated severely. Room needs to be updated also and get rid of the step from the TV section to the bedroom section. My sister fell because she did not see the step. It was not well marked. A step there is not needed. Bathroom was clean and housekeeping did the best they could with what they had to work with.

We've stayed at the Impala several times. It's convenient to the boardwalk, clean and comfortable. Easy to park. Staff is friendly and helpful. One minor issue is the shades in some rooms aren't effective enough to keep the light out.

Our Stay was nice, however when we got home my husband noticed an additional charge. He inquired about it and the hotel is accusing us of taking 6 pillows - total lie. No offense but no thank you to hotel pillows!

you get what you pay for and we didn’t pay much so my expectations were not high. The room was comfortable enough with clean sheets and the bathroom was clean. The checkin lady was terse and not very friendly. I tried to contact the property prior to check in to ask a couple of questions but no-one answered and no-one called me back despite leaving 2 messages. The property is very close to the boardwalk and amusements so its pretty loud until quite late. Finally, despite a no-smoking policy we could smell weed very clearly from the room next door and some other rooms when walking to ours. An ok stay for the price but will probably spend a little more next time and stay elsewhere
