Motel 6-Youngstown, OH

Great respectful check in and a safe room. Yet……The floors were sticky and the sink drain was broken. Parking lot eroding. Definitely no coffee or microwave or refrigerator. Pets are welcomed and that is a blessing.

The rooms have been renovated, so they are nice. But there was no refrigerator or microwave, which I didn’t think to check on ahead of time as I consider them pretty standard in motels. Also, the motel rooms have thin walls and the highway is near, so we heard traffic. And the periodic drama of our neighbors.

Pros: The room had AC, a nice table, Cable TV, and looked very clean. Wasn't noisy and the front desk workers were kind and efficient. Wifi was also great. Cons: The ice machine was in a completely different building about 50 yards away. I was a little upset that the room had no fridge nor microwave. I figured those were basic for rooms in 2025.

This was a quick overnight while traveling with our dog. Great area to walk dog outside hotel. Check in was quick, friendly and efficient. Room condition was very worn but clean. Worked for what we needed and would stay again while traveling.

Overall nice but missing some things. Nice room and quiet. Modern. Easy to get to room. No fridge and no hair dryer, so had to waste food. No breakfast.

Security was good. The access doors remained locked and the room locks were solid. The room was very clean: tub, toilet and sink were all literally spotless. I loved the luxury vinyl plank flooring, and it also was clean. It felt clean underfoot and when I wiped up spilled water with the white terrycloth floor mat, it came up clean. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 on cleanliness was because when I arrived there was a lot of garbage outside but the next day they cleaned all that up. Sidewalks outside of the rooms also could use a good power washing; I wondered what all those accumulated spills had been. The stairwell had a bad smell, but who cares when the room is clean. The bed was comfortable. The TV had a bunch of channels. Motel 6 is a no-frills operation: no fridge, no microwave, no iron, no closet, not one hanger, no shampoo or conditioner or lotion, and all the furniture is bolted to the wall. But for the price, I will definitely stay there again next time I'm in the area. Secure and clean are top priorities in my book and Motel 6 Youngstown does a good job with that. Staff was friendly and professional too.

The best part is pet friendly and the room is clean. The price is unbeatable.

Overall, the facility was not too bad. The walkways on both levels needs to be power washed. The surrounding parking area to all buildings needs to be paved.

I am not one to complain and I rarely leave reviews, but I think it's important to warm others. This hotel was one of the dirtiest I have ever stayed in. The sheets, pillows, and towels were all covered with hair. I could not sleep in the bed and had to lay down my own clothes over the top sheet to sleep. The hallway to my room had the lights broken and beer cans in the hallway, which made it feel very unsafe. There was also a damp unpleasant odor coming from the ceiling. I would not return.

The worse place ever I waste my money I left in the middle of the night because the bed have BEDBUGS and the room smells like cigarettes

It was fifthly, mold around the tub, flies, and roaches activity crawling. I was working on my parents home and just need a place to stay. The desk gave me a near empty spray can for the flies. I slept with my clothes on and the dog on the bed with all coverings pull down. Horrible place and I threaten call the county health authorities. Please do not refer any one to this place.

The floor in the room was filthy, ESPECIALLY in the bathroom. It looked loke urine all over the bathroom floor. Walls were also dirty. You need to paint every couple years. Beds were good and check-in was quick. I didn't expect a 5-star hotel, but I do expect it to be clean and sanitary.

I ended up with several dozen bed bug bites

Pure filth I wouldn’t never ever again not even if the gave me a free room sheets had cigarette burn marks bed was hard smelt moldy and of smoke it was the worse I have never stay anywhere like it

Microwave was dirty , bathroom had hair everywhere and dirty footprints . Dirt in tub and dead roaches in headboard . And towels were dirty . I was very disappointed in this because usually my last stay was decent . Hopefully y’all can correct and do better . Thank you

Dirty hotel room that was falling apart. Light switches didn’t work, the smoke detector was falling out of the wall, and the room door was hanging off the hinges. I had to pick it up to get the deadbolt to engage. There were flies buzzing around the room when I walked in. The AC unit barely worked set to 60, and it made a loud clicking noise that kept me up all night.

We had 2 rooms, one had a broken shower rod, the other had a TV that didn't work, no mini fridge, and no trash can. My son ended up getting bit at night from some sort of bug in the bed. When we first got there we were sent to a room that still had people's belongings in it.

I’m not sure who was giving all these rave reviews but my experience was far from that. Don’t get me wrong. Front desk gentleman was lovely and accommodating. First room was filled with flies. They were all over the bathroom mirror. Also, the bathroom lights did not work and there was no toilet paper. Second room was marginally better but the AC didn’t work. They did offer me a fan though. I declined. Third room was the winner. Still had flies, but nothing a hand towel turned into fly swatter couldn’t contend with. Plus, front desk staff told me I wanted to be in this front building as this was the safest. Gulp. This is an old, very dated Motel 6. Looks as though they are renovating a little at a time. You will be able to count the springs in the mattress. FYI…People are living here. But as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Under $70 and pets stay free.

Only stayed overnight. All good, except TV didn't work and there was tile damage by the bathroom shower rod. Still, very clean and comfy.

Easy check in. Room in disrepair. Half the lights did not work. Phone did not work. Holes in the bathroom where toilet paper and towel racks should have been. One broken chair. Clean enough and good price. Staff tried to be as helpful as possible. Convenient to interstate but that made it very noisy. Good location for quick food.

Check-in was OK but not quick as there seemed to be an issue with their internet/phone connection. Asked if I needed a fridge in the room & as I was only staying two nights deemed it to be unnecessary. TV mounted on the wall with power source behind it was not plugged in but would not work for me as you needed an app to source any channels. Smoke free room had a smoke detector above the door with NO battery, bath sink drain was clogged and missing top of the stopper, only one light in the bedroom area was working, toilet paper holder was missing rod, light & exhaust fan above the toilet was not working and I had the feeling that the laminate flooring had not been cleaned sufficiently as I left black residue in the tub from my feet when showering. There was a dog barking in another room continuously and the first night there was a heavy banging on the headboard wall from the adjacent room and sinc I had no working TV chalked it up to entertainment. So it is definitely a one star motel and could use a better quality control effort by management. I have stayed in worse. To add salt to the wound there appeared to be a decent looking Comfort Inn right behind it which was my view everytime I left the room, Shoulda, woulda could've coughed up the extra $.

the room itself was clean enough, and the bed was comfortable enough, but the problem was little to no sleep because of constant NOISE and Banging and Yelling not only above the room but on both sides as well as outside. I must have dosed off at some point only to be startled awake at 4:30am with LOUD obnoxious heavy bass music. If you are planning on getting sleep or rest don't stay here...

It is a dated motel compared to other Motel 6's i have stayed at. The smoke detector was broken and the room had a heavy smoke smell. Otherwise it was a decent place to slepp for a night.

I was very happy with my stay at Motel 6. The price was fantastic, and the room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful, and everything worked as it should. If you’re looking for a simple, no-frills place to stay that won’t break the bank, this is an excellent choice. I would definitely stay here again.

Our room was clean and had everything we need. Coffee was provided in the front office. Everyone was extremely nice and friendly from the staff to the other patrons. We will absolutely be back next time we are in the area - the value can't be beat!

I called ahead to make I got a ground level & accessible room & Ashley made that happen. Both check in & check out was timely & met with a friendly face.

Inattentive staff did not seem to understand check in process. I was issued wrong key and had to return to get another key. Property is dirty. Noisy fellow patrons kept me up most of the night. Poor experience.

Staff was very friendly and welcoming

We made a reservation the night before assuring we would have a place to stay after a 18 hour road trip. We showed up to check in and they had overbooked so our reservation was not honored. We were VERY unhappy and received NoO apology from the front desk. The person seemed to not even care about what happened.

They put my 2 grandchildren as a I in a room without a working tv. They played clueless about the broken tv then refused to move us to another room and refused to refund my money for us to get another room. Terrible ignorant staff

A woman at the front was so slow it took at least 30 minutes to check in. After I got to my room, it smells like cat fire smoke detective partially security lock not there anymore. I asked to be retoomed and the next room had the same things wrong with it except there was no urine smell so I took it. There was garbage everywhere in the hallways and stairwells would not drain. The windows was so dirty. You could not hardly see out of them. This is by far the nastiest place I’ve ever stayed in. It may be affordable, not worth it.

Staff are pleasant and open at all hours which I love because I always check in very late

Room was nice and large. Air conditioner works well. Lights didnt work correctly. Floor was swept but not washed, it was black dirty when we wiped up a minor water spill. Beds were very comfortable. Desk person was very kind, friendly and quickly fixed what he was able. I dont think the surrounding area was real welcoming, but we had no problems with noise or people in the area. They dont have breakfast. Great price!!

Only one chair in the room. Small table and TV - that’s all. The bathroom was clean and had hot and cold water. I suspect neighboring rooms were occupied mostly by homeless people placed by the government. Had to be careful on grassy areas - dog feces everywhere.

Didn’t get room requested and upstate’s hard with my dog.. always get handicap room by office and told none available. No TV guide or help when asked about TV. Lots of live in people here too. I stay here 2 times a year… on my way to PA. Love location but this trip lacking asst.

The rooms are clean. There's a lot of extended stay guests. The location is not ideal but very convenient for me. The room rates are very reasonable.

The room was clean, affordable and right off the interstate. In spite of others' reviews, it seems very safe. The rooms appear to be in the process of updating. The main room was clean with new flooring and furnishings. The bathroom tile was old and broken but still clean. They are light on the amenities but that's what I would expect with an inexpensive room. The bed was comfortable and I would stay here again.

The Motel was easy to find and had a comfortable bed for a good night sleep and the air conditioner worked great and was needed on the hot humid day we were there.
