Stay Fairfield - Fairfield Place and Fairfield Manor Bed & Breakfast

A great experience staying here. Excellent breakfast and the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in! Bowls of candy everywhere for your enjoyment. The coffee setup was perfect for all rooms to use. Upon leaving, the host gave out water color art posters of the B & B. Very nice touch. Definitely would stay here again.

We stayed because of loved one having open heart surgery at LSU hospital. It was only 3 minutes away. We felt very safe. The coffee bars, snacks of every kind, and breakfast were so amazing. It was the neatest place that felt homey during duch a stressful time.

It was so quiet and comfortable . The breakfast was amazing. I have never been to a place that offers such an unique coffee bar. Candy, and snacks for free. It was a wonderful stay.

We loved this Bed & Breakfast! It is gorgeous with antique furniture and stunning art and the atmosphere is like home, relaxed and welcoming. Our bed was very comfortable. The quiet porches/ balcony are wonderful for relaxing with a drink or coffee. We loved the chocolates and treats in the hallways and all the amenities. The home-made breakfast was superb!

We had an extraordinary stay at Fairfield Place! Our accommodations in the Bradbury Suite were very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The multitude of porches and courtyards made it easy to relax and unwind. There were complimentary snacks and beverages everywhere. Staff was available as needed, but otherwise invisible. It felt a little like housitting, but I didn’t have take care of any plants and a fabulous chef cooked me breakfast! We would definitely stay there again!

Uniquely eclectic decorated property. We stayed in the Tulane room. Bed was very comfortable. When we got back to the property after our event, we loved how beautifully the property was lit up. Lights all around the trees and along the fence. The breakfast was very nice! We we're escorted to the main house across the street for a well cooked breakfast. There were snacks and drinks available upon arrival and throughout our stay. You can definitely tell the owner takes pride in his property and making sure his guests are taken care of. Highly recommend.

Wonderful B&B with spectacular hot breakfast. Lovely decor and comfortable bed and furnishings. 24 hour access to many types of drinks, tea, coffee, and packaged snacks and candies is included. Terrific place.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. From the spacious bedrooms, to the deluxe beds and linens, to the thoughtfulness of the various snacks and candies throughout the hallways, this place has it all! Parking is a little cramped, but there is overflow street parking also available. Overall we would definitely choose to stay here again!

The room was very welcoming as was the staff. Excellent amenities there. The parking is easy to negotiate. There are plenty of snacks and drinks available. The breakfast is very good.

If you appreciate unique and eclectic, then this is the property for you! From the lovely porches and gardens, to the amazing decor in this beautiful, turn-of-the century home, literally every square inch of it is a feast for the eyes. There are fully stocked coffee bars on each floor of the Fairfield Place Inn, along with endless bowls of enticing chocolates, taffy, and sweets of all sorts--too numerous to name them all. The breakfast was delicious, the staff courteous and helpful. My only regret is that we were not able to meet the owners, who were out of town. Perhaps on our next visit--as we will most definitely be returning!

A great stay again. Love all the decorations, color, breakfast, tea, comfy bed, etc. I'm so glad this is near the Caddo Lake State Park. The Shreveport art museum also turned out to be excellent. The dust on the hard to dust places (e.g. fan blade) bothered me somewhat due to my allergies and need for fan for the unusually hot weather.

The host was very nice,helpful, and knowledgeable about the city. A lot of extra treats that you don't get at most b&b's. I would definitely stay here in the future.

Pros: nice, quiet area. In the historic district. Well lit. Plenty of snacks and drinks provided, wonderful garden tub. Cons: room has obviously not been cleaned in a while. There was a dead roach behind the main door, dead wasps in the window seal. No elevator so we had to drag our luggage up and down stairs, the fixtures in the bathroom were extremely oxidized, no fridge to put anything in, very old and needs to be updated, no hand soap or counter space in the bathroom. Limited parking.

The room was quaint and comfortable. It was very clean. Old fashioned decoration, just as I imagined for a traditional bed and breakfast. The hosts were very friendly and the breakfast was tasty.

I was very impressed. I felt safe. The place was very clean. Coffee up stairs and down avaiable 24/7 along with candy abd treats Room was great bed extremely comfortable When I have to go back to Shreveport I will. It stay anywhere else.

Everything about this bed and breakfast was great! It was in a quiet area and the place itself was quiet as well. Breakfast was very good. I loved that there were always drinks, snacks, coffee and tea available any time of day or night. It was clean and the bed in the Thornhill Suite where I stayed was beyond comfortable. I just loved everything about it.

The house had original historic features yet modern amenities including a whirlpool tub. The bed was comfortable and clean as was the rest of the room and bathroom. The owner made an incredible full breakfast that was served each morning. It gives you a chance to meet the other guests and the owners 3 dogs. Absolutely perfect place to stay in Shreveport. Historic, southern charm and friendly people.

This was a lovely stay, the older home is beautiful, and seemed very clean. My room was clean, and I was very pleased. Breakfast was delicious, and the service was great. I have no complaints… Thank you, and I will definitely return when in the Shreveport area.

Always a wonderful experience here! Mr John is an amazing chef and host and we can't stay anywhere else while in Shreveport.

Everything was absolutely wonderful except for the Internet. It was kind of intermittent.

The breakfast food was VERY good, the staff were excellent and were full of a lot of good recommendations about the area and things to do. The only downside was that our mattress was sunken in and very soft in the middle making sleeping difficult.

We stayed in the Orleans room for one night but I wish we could have stayed longer! Every wall was filled with beautiful art. There were tons of candies and cookies in every nook & cranny. The bed was sooo comfy!! The breakfast was my favorite part. Perfect eggs, grits, sausage, the biggest blackberries I've ever seen and this incredible pastry made entirely of filo dough with cinnamon applesauce in the middle. DELICIOUS!! I accidentally booked the night before we stayed there and John worked with us on getting the best rate for our actual stay and accommodated us on wanting a room with a bathtub. It's incredible. Only word of caution is it's a historic building so the rooms are smaller than your average hotel. It was perfect for me and my partner but larger folks may want to be aware of this.

The A/C was cold in our room, apparently a single thermostat controlling the lower floor. But, we made do, and enjoyed our stay. Staff was very responsive and friendly. Parking was tight, but doable.

Breakfast was excellent. John, the owner, is very courteous. Snacks are great. John got breakfast ready early even though breakfast starts at 8:30. However, There is noise from other guests when they come and go as this is a house and you are staying in a room in a house. The internet is very week. The TV has weird channels and not regular sports or news channels you are used to. No central lobby to hang out. Basically you are in the room and not have good tv or internet or desk to do work in the room so the stay can be difficult for a business traveller. I guess, it can be great for a family who need multiple rooms and want to stay close to each other and do not mind the noise.

The owner called to tell me he upgraded my stay to a more roomy room. The bed was so comfortable as well as the pillows. Tons of snacks in the halls plus Keurigs for the morning. Enjoyed my stay.

Overall good experience, bathroom cramped and tv limited and confusing to figure out. Otherwise real good.

This was our second time staying here for my husband's birthday, and it was just as unique, exclusive and laid back as it was the first time 10 years ago! The breakfast is yummy, it's very quiet and just a great place to get away from the world. If you're looking for a real bed and breakfast vibe; this is the place! However the shining star for this visit was our host, Julia. From the first phone call up until check out time, she was nothing but amazing and accommodating!! Her smile and easy going nature was contagious and definitely the cherry on top for our stay. I pray you see this from the Modica's, Julia - Thank you!!

We booked because we were in town for a close relatives funeral. ( We also understood there wasn’t a refund) However, after arriving, and calling relatives, we discovered where we were staying wasn’t close to them. So, my husband and I left and stayed in a hotel at another location to be close to family. I called the Fairfield guy and explained we were leaving Fairfield and would not be staying for the 2 nights afterall. So we ended up paying for 2 different lodgings that night. (Very expensive trip) again, I understand I agreed when online booking to a no refund policy, however, after hearing our circumstances and due to a funeral, I was hoping out of the kindness of his heart, we could of at least got a partial payment back from Fairfield. But again, it was entirely might fault for booking in an area that I was completely unfamiliar with. On a closing note, the Fairfield Place was really nice and the guy was pleasant. Just hard on a person paying for 2 nights in a room we didn’t actually stay in 😢

When I arrived at this hotel, the room was dark, cramped, and had limited technology available and not what I had originally viewed online. When I told them that the room was not adequate and that I would not be able to stay, they refused to refund even part of the cost. I offered to pay for the first night, even though I did not stay there, they refused this offer as well. Do not expect to get what you see online. Very disappointed that they were so difficult to work with.

No staff anywhere in site. Wasn’t sure how to check out. Didn’t get to eat breakfast. Someone knock on the door at 8 and said breakfast would be served across the the street at the Fairfield Inn, we wanted breakfast

During my time as a traveler, I have been to many bed and breakfasts across the country. There was always someone to greet me, show me where things were, and provide a history of the house. Unfortunately, this was not my experience at Fairfield Place in Shreveport. By far, my experience was one of the most uncomfortable and impersonal to date: I received a text from someone telling me where I could find my materials, asking if I would be eating breakfast, etc. I responded and was replied to, in short form. When I arrived, I referred to the text and located the materials. After getting into my room, I read the enclosed letter and realized I had not been given an item. I sent a text to the person I’d spoken to about parking, since all the spaces were taken in front of the house, telling her about the missing item. She responded with, “Ok.” There was no clarifying or helping me navigate the situation. Plus, the house was cold. I called the number at the bottom of the letter for contact and someone else responded telling me he wasn’t available but asked if she could help me with something. The heat was turned on, after the call, and still, I had yet to see a single, live person. I felt plopped down in a space where I was left to navigate an environment where I had paid for comfort, but was left to figure it all out. As a person of color, I will never stay here again. It was uncomfortable and degrading. Poor hospitality makes EVERYTHING ugly.

The automated check-in was a breeze, allowing for a hassle-free arrival. The rooms are a masterclass in design, combining vintage charm with playful retro accents. The bed was sublime, offering a sleeping experience that was nothing short of heavenly. The staff were exemplary in their attention to detail, ensuring a flawless stay. Highly recommended.

John is a great host the best breakfast. had a great sleep and the room and bathroom were very spacious. Highly recommend it for people visiting the Shreveport area. Convent close parking as well. Great central location to activities in Shreveport. Wished I would have known about this years ago and will make this my go to lodging from now on when visiting Shreveport.

Charming and lovely with sparkling lights to lead us into large parking area. Beautiful historic area with large gracious homes. Our stay was easy to access, full of goodies and drinks to take. Large comfy room, decorated in vintage charm. Breakfast was delivered to our room and was outstanding.

We stayed one night and thoroughly enjoyed the Fairfield Manor. The St. Charles suite was large and comfortable. We attended a concert at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium and it was very convenient to the venue. The breakfast was also very good.

The drive in through some neighborhoods was scary.

I travel to Shreveport about once a quarter and will certainly try to stay here again. Easy to manage checking in, and the stay is extremely comfortable and perfectly located. Highly recommended

Awesome place, unique, very comfortable and the location was perfect.

House and staff are fantastic, Unfortunately like many old historical neighborhoods with grand old houses there are some areas close by that I would not wander about. This property and immediate surrounding area is safe and well tended. The property itself is very secure. I have stayed many times and it is a favor of mine. Shreveport has been rated as a dangerous city - common sense generally prevails.

Fairfield Place is in a great central locaiton of which is an older neihborhood with beautiful homes. It ias also close to great restaruants and not far from downtonw. The room was very quite. Well appointed and even had spa tub. The breakfast was superb. Scrambled eggs, pastry, sausage, and gritts. Great large selection of coffee. Will be back.

This B&B is located in a beautiful historic district. The property is lovely, the breakfast was great, and the staff is warm and welcoming.

We absolutely LOVED Fairfield!! The New Orleans vibes in this house make it magical and so perfect. There is so much art to look at and enjoy. The house was clean, smelled nice and was incredibly comfortable. John was very attentive and answered our questions by text immediately. He was not there for our trip and I wish he had been. Breakfast could have been better and I suspect it is when he’s onsite. There was an insane amount of complimentary snacks. We visit a lot of B&Bs and we’ve never seen that before. It is such a nice touch, the epitome of southern hospitality! Everything about our stay was excellent and we can’t wait to return!

Excellent stay at this beautiful eclectic period mansion. John is an very welcoming host and great chef. Breakfast was amazing and very generous in amount and variety of food. There are little treats set around everywhere and several coffee and tea stations throughout the property. You can get lost in the art and architecture. Highly recommend.

Book this place. It is unique, full of history and has the best breakfast you will ever have served to you.
