Cute spacious room, friendly staff, and perfect location right in the heart of downtown. The parking fee on this website is incorrect, as it states $24 per day. Well, that’s not incorrect, but that is a daily rate and the fee doubles if the car is left overnight. I found a lot to park my car rather than parking it in the garage close by.

We had a really good experience over the weekend, however the one thing that would deteer us from staying again is having to pay $46 just for parking in a garage 2 blocks away for less than 24hrs.

This property was in the perfect location right in downtown Grand Rapids. The property was pretty basic without many amenities. During our trip the elevator was broke and we had to walk to the 4th floor to get to our room which was quite inconvenient but overall a good property.

Great, friendly staff. Hotel is clean. Only on street parking which was hard in the snow. Paid $48 for overnight stay in the attached parking ramp, which was way too expensive. Will probably stay elsewhere just do to parking

Only one person working at the place, took 30 minutes just to get checked in. Our room had no fridge or microwave and none of the ice machines were working — every floor, every wing! Very cheap feel for the price I paid for a night. I’d have better service at The Terrace Motel for way less!!!

Warning! Don\'t go here if you plan to take advantage of the amenities. Bar? Closed (on a Saturday). Why? Staff had no idea why. Restaurant? Closed. Why? When I asked why, at 3:45pm, staff said "well, it\'s supposed to open at 4pm but there\'s no one here to open it so I guess it\'s not opening." The listing needs to be updated to remove these "amenities". The elevator was terrible, and the parking from The city was a joke. I cannot check In until 4 pm. I park in the garage at 3 and the parking bill resets at 4 am. So they claim 24$ for 24 hr. No. 48. Terrible

The instructions for parking were unclear and confusing and we were billed three times for the room and had a difficult time getting our charges reversed. Parking garage for the area is also a problem because if you stay overnight you get charged for 36 hrs, even though our stay was less than 24 hours

Everything in the room was sticky to the point you didn’t want to touch anything at all (light switches, lamps). It was gross. Staff experience was dependent on time of day. Morning and afternoon guys were extremely nice and helpful. Night time was not friendly and a customer had 45 minute exchange with him last night where the hotel record had him in the wrong room than what he checked into. The nighttime worker assumed the man was just drunk but the hotel made the mistake. Witnessed the whole interaction and it took way too long to resolve after midnight. So rating is based on two good workers and one that was TERRIBLE

It mught just be the material selection or the fact that im particular but the bathrooms here simply didnt seem very clean. Asked for a new room due to mold in the shower and the second shower wasn't too much better. Not sure if i wanted to ask for another room because i assume the same thing will happen or they wont bave another room. Checked the bed and sheets which appear to be clean but that is about the extent of it. Probably wouldnt stay here again.

I am disappointed in this stay for $400/night. We checked in and the hotel appeared nice. But when we got to our room on the 2nd floor, it was like a dungeon. One small window high up that led to brick walls we couldn’t see out of. (This was not mentioned on the booking and the pictures showed a big bright window.) aside from not knowing if it was sunny out or raining, this didn’t make us feel safe in the event of an emergency. Is that even code? We got our baby out of the car seat and noticed the stains and hair on the comforter. We went down to ask for a different room to which they said they couldn’t provide one. The staff was helpful and we settled for a new, clean comforter. This hotel does look nice and was very conveniently located but the weekend experience in that dark room was one of the worst I’ve had and we’ve stayed in roadside motels on road trips through the mountains. Haha! For that alone, we would likely not return

We had a strange room layout that wasn’t very conducive to two guests. The lighting wasn’t comfortable nor inviting. The room wasn’t as clean as we’re accustomed to at other hotels - the floors were visibly dirty, the one chair had leftover food in it, there were dusty areas throughout the room. There were no options for parking, the parking garage behind is set up for validation but the hotel didn’t offer any - an additional $30 cost per night. With many other options to stay in the immediate vicinity, I can’t recommend CityFlats to anyone.

The only thing I would really complain about with this hotel is that there was yellow spots all over the comforter. The floors were sticky as well like our room had not been cleaning at all just restocked and they had thrown us in there.

Hotel Rooms are nice, but need to be cleaned better. You could see dust in every corner, and there was trash under the chairs and benches and bed like they clearly don’t look under there. Super noisy hallways, extremely rude loud guests at 2am but management handled it. Great location. I would stay again but bring ear plugs, and Clorox wipes.

I stayed here years ago and it was so nice. It’s gone way down hill since. Rooms are not clean, are very awkward, you can change the room temp, the bed was NOT a queen as paid and advertised for. It was definitely a full. No window. Felt like jail. The creamer curdled in our coffees. The bathroom had hair from previous occupant and the toilet paper was not new, half used and very rough. Not worth the $225 plus $36 parking. Only plus, location.

The room was noce, and mostly clean. But in an effort to be "eco-friendly", it was uncomfortably cold in the room, with no way of changing the temperature in the room. I even went to ask the front desk, and was told that there nothing they could do because of how the system worked. The temp was set at 64.5 degrees F, and the highest it got was 65 degrees. It was super cold outside, so to walk in and not have it be much warmer was not super great. The front desk did offer extra blankets, but that was it.

The rooms are definitely the size that the pictures give the impression of. Our city view was a window that looked out to a metal wall barrier a foot away, so no view. The room was poorly laid out and a bit inconvenient. And the bathroom door was cute but did not give any real privacy. For the price($300) I expected more. We stay at the Homewood suites or the residence inn for cheaper and their rooms are definitely better than these.

The deposit is $20 upon check in. The hotel is right near the Grand Rapids Police Department on Monroe Center (Not actually on Monroe Avenue). The hotel is near The Bob, Amway Grand, and is walking distance to the DeVos hall. It's also walking distance to the Kent County Courthouse. The beds are very comfortable and soft. That was my favorite part. I was on the fifth floor and there was a lot of noise (maybe elevator?). The room for the standard King does not have a bathtub to relax in. The hotel bar isn't operating 24-7 so check to see if it's open when you go there. As far as restaurants there's tons nearby that's walking distance. If you wanted to go to the museum or other things in the City. The Work bus stop is free to use and circulates the city every 15 minutes. Or, you can jump on The Rapid Bus and that pretty much will take you anywhere.

The staff was great, rooms clean, but it seemed odd that there was no microwave, mini fridge, or fan in the bathroom. Also, the lighting situation was kind of weird. In order to turn on the bathroom light, the lights in the bedroom had to be on because they were all on a master switch. Not a concern for a single traveler but not great when one person is sleeping. The girl that checked me in seemed under the influence of drugs or alcohol, slurred words and did not speak up. If she was new then she should have properly been trained. The room my son and I checked into had not been cleaned and her parking instructions were vague. After coming down from the dirty room a different girl who was blonde was very helpful and gave a new room. Unfortunately I could not block the lights from the parking garage and hardly slept that night so we checked out at 5am. Looked like roller shades very high out of reach and didn’t see a switch for them. Also ended up with a parking ticket out front of the place after 3 employees said I could park there overnight after paying the meter. I will not choose this hotel again.

For the amount that we prayed for this property, it was quite subpar. There was only one attendant working the desk and they were in the restroom when we arrived and we had to wait about 10 minutes to check in. We were trying to get to a concert on time and no one else was able to help us. Paying around $500 a night for a room, I would expect the property to be able to staff coverage adequately. The room itself was very plain and ordinary. It was walkable and convenient. I probably would not choose this property again.

Our experience was great from check in to check out. Check in was very smooth. Ryan was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. We liked how streamlined the room was. Lighting under the beds, nice touch. The icing on the cake were the beds. Like sleeping on a cloud. Fantastic. Checking out I just did it from my phone. When traveling to other locales I will search for a City Flats Hotel first.

This is my go-to hotel for when I’m in Grand Rapids!! We decided to stay another night due to the weather, and the staff was SUPER accommodating…they helped us find an affordable option and gave us the same room we had been staying in. My daughter and I travelled down from Ontario for a concert that ended up being cancelled. When we told the lady at the front desk, Abby, she went above and beyond for us and arranged tickets to another event! Wow. Huge thanks Abby! The hotel itself had possibly the most comfortable bed I've ever had at a hotel, and the room was great too! Five star experience all around! :)

Upon arrival the staff person was not in the least bit friendly. In fact she did not even greet us. She closed her book went to the computer and waited for us to tell her our name. We were not given any information regarding the hotel other than where to find the elevator to our room. The room itself was okay but the bathroom was not at all clean. Mildew in the shower grout and years worth of dust on the woodwork. In addition we realized we were only left one bath towel for two guests and had to request another. We have stayed at this location many time years before but the property has definitely declined and the staff has as well.

We asked for our room to be serviced and the request was ignored. We asked again the next day and we found the room to be serviced upon our return, but the bed linens were not changed. They seem to think towels, linens, and such are gold as they do not want to provide any additional. They did not provide bath mats so we had to use towels on each side of the shower that kept leaking water onto the floor. There are no glasses in the room and we were told we could not have any. This is just a few of the head-scratching interactions with staff, but oh well. It was our 2nd and last time staying at this property.

This property was a good location to downtown restaurants and bars. However, it did not have a refrigerator in the room. The night staff covering the desk was very rude and assuming that I was behind their bar to steal liquor, while I was only throwing some trash away and the nearest trash can was near the bar. He even threatened to call security. Very unnecessary.

Renovated old town building of Grand Rapids. Nicely decorated room, with a good feel. More to see here than my short visit allowed. It is in downtown, so it's within walking distance of everything if you're ambitious enough to walk.

This was a super cute hotel! The room was big, as was the bathroom. We came in for a girls night. Abby, at the front desk was helpful and so nice! Walking distance from great food and fun bars! The bar at the hotel is small, as is the rest of the hotel, but had good drink!

It wasn’t “bad” but I was just severely disappointed. The rooms are individually decorated but there was no thought out behind it. No refrigerator or microwave. The ice bucket was in the bathroom with no liner/bag. There isn’t even an ice machine on the whole side of the hotel I was in so the point was mute. I paid $3.18 for a small black coffee at 8:30am on a Saturday morning. Like what??? I should’ve stayed at a holiday inn. 😂😂

The location was great but that was about all. The room was okay. Th website says it has a restaurant/bar lounge, there was a space for it but it was closed. They told us to park in the garage attached to the hotel it would be $24/night but didn't tell us that the time rolled over at 4:00 AM. We arrived at 3:30 PM and took our car out at 9 AM and paid $44. Should be honest with guests if they want repeat business. I noticed a pile of towels on the floor when we got off the elevator and the were still there 3 days later when we checked out.

A casual downtown hotel with a little style. Parking overnight is free on the streets nearby which was all we needed for our concert getaway. Hotel bar was friendly and well stocked. Room 1208 has a high cement ceiling with a window so high up we could not see out. The full wall lighting completed the cell block vibe. The rest of the hotel is probably more typical.

The bartender in the lobby bar was great, poured good drinks, and even stayed to let us order another round at the end of the night! The bed was super comfortable and the shower pressure and temp were perfect. The shower handle was hard to reach without getting soaked so if you want to turn it on and adjust the temp before jumping in, thats almost impossible. Other than that, it was nice.

This is a really pleasant hotel with wonderful, helpful staff who bend over backward to assist with everything and anything as needed. Rooms were clean and the small bar downstairs had live music (jazz) - a real bonus for us since we usually have to go hunting to find a jazz bar. Parking was the only negative but the on-street parking is free overnight so it wasn't that big a deal if you can find a free spot and, if not, the adjacent ramp is not very expensive. Highly recommend this hotel in the heart of the hotel/restaurant district and will definitely return next time I need to stay in downtown GR.
