This hotel is in a convenient location, but the whole vibe is strange. Looks like they might be in the middle of a rebrand, but was clearly purchased and is not in the midst of transitioning to its new identity. The rooms are quite shabby and in need of renovation, as is the lobby area. The bed was clean and comfortable, which was all I needed for my short stay, but would not seek this hotel out again. My room looked out on the hallway and an internal courtyard, so had to keep the shades drawn at all times for privacy. Was looking forward to using the gym, but the treadmill was not even plugged in and the elliptical was not working, which seemed to be a known issue with the front desk. If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive place to stay that is close to Times Square and public transit and aren't planning on doing anything but sleep in your room, this fits the bill.

No food options or bar in the hotel, no glasses or cups supplied in the room, we stayed in ground floor room smallest window ever that you could not see out as was up at ceiling height, very noisy road at the back of the hotel at night constant traffic all night long horns blaring Bed was very good, room small

Loved the rooftop terrace! It was fine for one night in the city.

I enjoyed the amenities: free coffee and water, a full gym/fitness center and of course the room itself — with a bonus private deck.

I think property is under a renovation, but still very cool theme and set up. Appreciate that the elevator is always available on the first floor ready to go. Kind of dark hallways. Showers could use a good grout refresh but overall it was a great location and much more affordable and good quality over other hotels in the area.

Great location, walking distance to everything, friendly staff, clean rooms with room service and option for Do Not Disturb. The style is modern boutique, like an elevated experience for someone tired of hostels. TV, AC, and fridge with king size bed in our room. No safe or microwave in the room. There's a microwave in the hallway near the front desk. Overall a great stay for th location and price.

Great location and staff was amazing. Wish they haf an on-site restaurant/ bar but it appears they are working on that. Thus will be my go to place to stay when in NY. Could ise more storage for clothing.

This hotel is really nice with comfortable and lovely rooms, lovely courtyard and views, especially at night when the city lights turn on. The room has a fridge, but no microwave. There is a common one in the lobby. No water bottles in the fridge. There are cups and a water cooler in the lobby too, and I would recommend you bring a water. An ice bucket and ice upon request, but it would be great if each room had a nice bucket and there was an ice machine in the lobby too. I wish check out time was later.

Don’t stay here. Checked in around 1, $50 early check in. Work pays for it, no big deal. Didn’t have an ironing board, asked for one as I was tight on time. Took them 5 hours and asking 3 times for them to come through. Random candy from the last guest on the window. Windows were filthy. Didn’t share the Wi-Fi password, asked someone who didn’t know at the front desk. Gross place. Rude people.

The room felt dirty and there was blood on the sheets. Mold all over the shower.

Dirty, sheets not cleaned, strange pictures of women on the walls, boarded over windows, loud noises coming from above.

The bedsheets had hair all over that was not ours. The bathroom was not cleaned at all there was a dried white stain on the tile in the bathroom that was not spit - the towels also looked like they had been used there was only one fresh towel in the room. There was someone else’s hair in the shower and drain, as well as a plastic wrapper in the shower. There was hair all over the bathroom floor. I am grateful the flooring wasn’t carpet. There were damaged floorboards in the room as well. I do not complain often - but this was gross.

Stayed one night with my hubby. Hotel was dirty, furniture chipped, room dingy, walls paper thin. We heard everyone walking passed our room in corridor. Really disappointed considering the $$ we paid.

We couldn't check in until 4 pm unless we paid an additional $75. They did store our luggage till 4 in a secure room. Once in our room, there wasn't any closet, and no place to hang a coat or anything. We had 2 double beds that only had one pillow each AND the pillows had no pillowcases. Once I discovered the lack of pillowcases I looked around the room for the room phone in order to call the front desk to ask for pillowcases and discovered there was no room phone. I had to look for the number to call the hotel from my cell phone. No pillowcases were delivered. My husband went downstairs to ask again for pillowcases and we still did not get pillowcases.

Staff was friendly, especially the gentleman working in the luggage check. Lobby restroom was filthy and smelled of urine. I noticed a piece of gum in top of one of the urinals in lobby restroom the first day. I used that restroom again on the 4th day and the gum was still there. The room was less than decent. Deadbolt didn't lock, massive draft coming through door, and a little Walmart space heater on the counter was all room had for heat. There were no blankets on beds, but at least the 2 sheets and tiny space heater helped with the draft from the noon locking door. 3 of the 4 outlets in the room didn't work so the lamp had to be unplugged in order to charge cell phone. Toilet ran continuously which would've made it difficult to sleep had we been able to sleep with all the yelling in the hallways every night between 12-2am. I saw no security at any time which may be why all the yelling in hallways every night. If you don't want to be disgusted, I recommend not looking under the beds. Large amounts of hair, dirt and dust under beds made it obvious that like the lobby restroom, housekeeping is not a top priority in this hotel. I saw housekeeping in the hallways daily. Their setup included a bag for trash, a bag for laundry, a dirty washcloth and a single spray bottle. Location and luggage guy were pretty much the best part. Very overpriced for the condition of the hotel.

I would NOT recommend staying here - particularly for the price. The rooms look like they were thrown together really quickly and cheaply. Metal frame beds, no closets, a really crappy clothes organizer - looks like they got it from a discount bodega on 42nd street. Zero amenities - no blow dryer, iron, ironing board. The air conditioner was one of those portable units I got for my daughters college dorm - it worked well but super noisy. Also personally annoying, and a common occurance these days, a $75 early check-in fee which they were nice enough to make it $50 for checking in at noon - still crazy since the room was def open and just sitting there vacant. We stay frequently in NYC for overnights or long weekends - unfortunately we won't return here. There are much better options out there IMHO.

Nice hotel room and beds. Very conveniently located to the metro and along our walk gets you to Times Square People do talk through the night and the sound carries. TV did not work and no phone in room to call front desk. This goes for the area around this hotel but also all throughout Times Square and Hell's Kitchen and generally the Manhattan area is the strong smell of weed anywhere you walk. This is not a problem about the hotel but just about the neighborhood in general wreaks of the stuff.

PROS: The location was great for a convention I was attending at Javits Center. The employees at the front desk/bellman were extremely nice, friendly and helpful. For a Manhattan hotel room, it was a decent size compared to others Ive stayed in. CONS: The room had a LOUD portable AC unit in it that was attached by tubing to the window. There was no closet. The plastic makeshift clothes hanger that looked like it was not even IKEA quality had nothing to actually hang the clothes with until I asked the front desk the next day. No phone in the room (not a huge deal but it was just odd). TV remotes did not work until my 2nd day after I told the front desk. TV also did not have cable stations, it was all ROKU streaming and the services didnt work unless you wanted to enter your own information, or someone had used it prior and forgot to sign out. Towels were not changed daily. Property was as average as they come. Had it not been for the great people at the desk and front, probably would rate it lower. However, it also was the only property in the city at that time that was not an insane amount for a 3-night stay.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are no closets, just a type of PVC cox grid. Everything is on the lower quality, EXCEPT the bed. That was great!! Window coverings were different. Made me feel that I was not hidden from public. No soda or snack machines. no microwave, but a small fridge. No breakfast, deli across the street. No coffee in room. It has potential, but they need to step it up a bit.

Hotel is just good to have a convenient place to sleep. It’s walkable from the Midtown ferry and to Times Sq. It’s strange having a window facing the hallway where everyone could look inside while passing if you not having your blinds all the way down. Hotel room doesn’t provide any fridge, microwave, or ironing stuff. Very simple. If you don’t mind the loud AC in the room- we didn’t we fell asleep due to all the walking. Bedding hat only one sheet on top of the blanket which we flipped around since there was no bed sheet below the blanket. Overall if you don’t have big expectations and want a budget friendly hotel. It’s ok. Front desk staff was nice and very helpful.

Property did not disclose that there is a club adjacent to hotel. Our room was on the second floor on top of the club and could hear and feel the bass shaking the walls of our hotel room. It was ridiculous.

The rooms are very outdated and barebones, especially given the price. The pictures on the website are a bit misleading. The room was missing basic elements of a hotel room - luggage rack, iron, trash can. The heat also didn't work very well. It wasn't horrible but I probably wouldn't go back.

Although my room was in the second floor, the windows face out into an internal courtyard (that does have sun coming in) but if you want privacy you have to close the blinds which ends up giving basement apartment vibes.

My stay at the Hudson Yards Hotel was less than stellar. The wi-fi was out my entire stay, so I had to go work elsewhere, racking up the coffee bills. There was also no fridge (just a ghost fridge compartment), no working TV, and no air conditioning. The front desk phone was put on silent and the publicly listed phone number doesn't work, so it was impossible to get in touch with the front desk. This is truly just a place to sleep (on scratchy sheets) and shower (the only A+ amenity on property). The location is decent- three avenues from the subway and two avenues from the West Side walking/running paths. They were also flexible about my check-out time. Otherwise, you're not getting anything you paid for here.

My company had three rooms at the hotel. Each one of us had issues with our room. They included everything from lights that worked part of the time, lack of hot water, lack of a working toilet, lack of a working fridge.

I would like to express my dissatisfaction and request a solution to the issue I experienced today during my check-in process. Upon arriving at my hotel, I was informed that it was overbooked and was given a letter redirecting me to a nearby hotel. When I arrived at the second hotel, I had to wait in line for 30 minutes, only to be told that Hudson Yards should have called ahead. As a result, we had to walk back again. This entire situation has taken over an hour and half. I have always booked through Expedia and have never experienced an overbooking issue before. As a customer, I feel mistreated and deeply disappointed by the lack of coordination and care. Mysteriously, after we returned from the other hotel, a room suddenly became available - the exact same room type I had originally booked. I find this very confusing and frustrating. There was no upgrade or change; it was simply the room I had already reserved. Also, the sheets were moldy, the bathroom was dirty, and so was the floor in the room. I will never stay at this hotel again.

I was unable to get in touch with the hotel itself when i had a medical emergency. I also tried talking to a representative from hotels.com, who was helpful, but they never followed through or were helpful.

The staff was so nice and friendly here! They held my bags for me all day until my flight and ordered a car to take me to the airport. Thank you!

I review a large number of places and im always looking for the positive. This expereice leaves me no choice but to shae what a dissappointing and strange experience this was. Let me start with my expectations based upon the price point was for it to be very basic, basic meaning clean, well lit, decent service, up to date and no frills interior design. This didnt even regster close for any of the above. Peeling wallpaper, bathroom sink side was broken, dingy towels, stains on the wall, no phone int the room and nice but less than responsive service. , i had to walk down to request additional bed covering, they only had sheets, no blakets also a shade that would close and eventually the chain broke, after reporting the issue, no one came to inspect or offer to change the room just very bizarre. Also worn carpets etc. Needless to say gave it my best shot. But the girlfirend has suspended me from booking hotels for a while. We ut our stay short by a full day and left , after checking out on line at 3am. I havent done that since never. Stay at your own caution

Check in was fine, the staff was friendly but when we got to the room the AC didn't work and there was no phone in the room to call the front desk. We were just dropping off our bags before heading back out for dinner and a show so on our way out we mentioned the AC and were told they'd have it looked at when we got back. We got back and the AC still didn't work and it didn't look like anyone had been in. The man we talked to earlier wasn't at the desk and the one who was wasn't aware of the situation and couldn't tell us if it had been looked at. Instead of offering us another room all they offered was a fan. The windows didn't have screens in them and we didn't feel comfortable leaving the windows open during the night because of such and spent the night roasting with only the fan moving some air around. Upon check out and mention of the broken AC the front desk work only said "well I don't know" when I mentioned the situation and then "there's nothing we can do to compensate you for the AC, check with who you booked with." Overall it was a lovely location and building, but service and amenities were severely lacking.

At check in I was given a key. When I got to the room it was already occupied with other guest. The other guest and I went back down to front desk to let them know. They apologized and gave me another room key for a different room. When I went back up the key did not work. I went back down and they eventually got it right.

Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) The staff at the Hudson Yards hotel were friendly and helpful, which I appreciated. However, my overall stay was not as comfortable as expected. The biggest issue was the air conditioning — the unit in my room was extremely noisy. On the second day, they kindly offered to move me, but it took inspecting four different rooms to find one with less noise. Unfortunately, the quieter room didn’t have blackout blinds, so I had to sleep with an eye mask to block the light — I preferred light over the constant noise. Another downside is that housekeeping doesn’t clean the room daily, which was unexpected and not communicated at check-in. In summary: great location and friendly staff, but noisy rooms, limited comfort, and inconsistent service. Not what you'd expect for the price.

Although we stayed four nights, the beds were made only once, the bathroom towels were never replaced and the trashcans were emptied only once, and that was after we inquired about the matter at the desk and were informed that we had paid for these services. Our room, #337, had no furniture or drawers in which to store our clothing, requiring us to leave it in our luggage throughout the visit. There was no closet in which to hang our jackets. The thermostat did not work; a small area heater was in the room apparently to address the issue. The lamp on the window sill did not work. A hole existed where the in-room refrigerator previously had existed. Our room keys did not work after the second night, requiring us to return to the desk to have them recoded for the duration of the trip. We reported all of these issues civilly to the registration desk multiple times, they were civilly received, but corrective actions were minimal. Do not stay at the Hotel at Hudson Yards until its new owners clean up their act and bring their services up to the minimum standards of the industry.

Very clean and friendly place to stay. Good facilities and accommodations. Went for a weekend trip on the train— and within a reasonable walking distance to many good spots.

Not sure why this place got so many negative reviews. I stayed here for business and the staff were great, room was an excellent size compared to other hotels I've stayed at in the area and it was a good value. A 5 minute walk to Javits Center and close to many other things.

Good location

Second time staying here.(big rooms for NYC) Love the multiple internal sitting areas with sky views. Short walk in one direction to Times Square / couple of blocks the other way and you’re sitting on a pier on the Hudson River. Easy access to buses or subways. As a single 60yr old walking around day or night I felt very safe.

Some kind of coffee in the lobby area would have been appreciated, even if we had to pay for it! No one to call a cab for us when we left so we had to Uber (which was OK, but we had been told a Bellperson would help us get taxis). For what we paid for this hotel, it was disappointing overall.

This was our 2nd time choosing Hudson Yards Hotel. The location is great, we can walk to central park , times square and close to all public transportation. The amenities are fine. Bed comfortable. Hot water is in the lobby .....bring ur fav tea bags or starbucks sliders.
