Riu Palace Bavaro - All Inclusive

Estuvimos 3dias y la pasamos bien,lo único que es un poco incomodo porque los edificios familiares estaban un poco alejados de los restaurantes y los edificios de habitaciones no tienen elevador excepto la parte del elite club

Our hotel room was clean and housekeeping was wonderful. The pools and beach were enjoyable. The food was a bit bland but did have some good options. The food court and buffet always had something good to eat. The resort was clean and fun

La limpieza de la piscina de adulto la que tenía el bar no tenía los motores de limpieza y no se veía del todo limpia. Los vasos plásticos y las toallas de la habitación se veían deteriorados. Los restaurantes a las 8:30pm ya no contaban con espacio, pero tampoco te permitían hacer reservaciones con anticipación. Excelente servicio de Wilikn y Jenny del restaurante Taíno, también tuvimos un buen servicio en el sport bar de un chico que no recuerdo el nombre. Muy bien servicio del bar de la piscina de adulto de apellido Rodríguez.

Beautiful property, excellent staff, an amazing time overall. My only negative is, I didnt stay long enough. Approximately eight pools and a water attraction/park. I would definitely recommend a stay here. Its great for a families with small children as well.

O quarto era muito bom, espaçoso, com camas e travesseiros confortáveis. O café da manhã, como em toda a rede Riu era excelente e muito variado. O buffett geral também com grande variedade de comidas, com melhor qualidade no jantar e não tão bom no almoço. Os bares do hotel com excelente atendimento e grande variedade de bebidas. O parque aquático junto ao hotel foi um destaque e muito apreciado pelas crianças. O restaurante Steak com comida excelente. Não gostei do restaurante italiano e do Krystal (comida de baixa qualidade). Não fomos no restaurante Zen nem no Agave, então não posso avaliar.

Very Friendly staff. All facilities in convenient location. Riu pool party was a plus. Highly recommend.

Best cocktails, good buffet with lot of choices. The rooms were cleaned everyday. Very crowded and noisy at some moment, especially during week-end. The beach itself was average, but there was enough chairs and shade under the palm trees.

It is a big hotel. The pools are crowded. The food options are good. The night shows are just ok. The beach had so much sargassum (they cannot control that, of course) that we could not get into the water, but seemed to be a nice beach with many palm trees and nice shade. The rooms are spacious.

The staff was excellent, the hotel is very big comfortable and beautiful. Very good variety of restaurant like steak house, asian, american, italian, the mexican restaurant could be better. Also has a really good buffet. Lots of spots for fun like water park, pool bars, teather with live music, coffe shops and ice cream bars. Very good activities for adults and childrens.

Todo bien, solo los restaurantes cierran en días que indican que estarán abiertos o los cierran temprano por eventos al día siguiente, hay cosas que no funcionan como el cuarto de vapor en el SPA.

Booked 2 rooms both rooms sheets weren’t changed and it had red stains which looked like blood and we had bug bites for the 1st 2 days from the bed we were sleeping in. Also I noticed roach in one of the bedrooms and I complained to the manager at RIU palace Bavaro his name is Erik. He said he would look into it and I asked him what is he going to do about it and if they can compensate us but he never got back to me. They did change the sheets for the last 2 days of my stay however I would like to receive refund back for the 1st 2 days of my stay there.

Woke up after first night stay with bed bug bites

The hotel is big and looks pretty and the amenities including the water park was good. My main complaint is poor housekeeping. Housekeeping did a poor job cleaning our room. My Vichy tinted sunscreen went missing the second morning. I believe it was accidently thrown out. Soap and shampoo were not refilled and we had to take the bottle off the wall so it would be refilled the next day and one time, the bottle was taken out of the room and not returned. Riu has to invest in new towels. Most of the white towels had stains on them which were disgusting. There was a dark stain on one of the dark beach towels and that was gross. Overall we still had a good time.

The resort is immaculate. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The food is good. The beach is beautiful. Best of all, my daughter who’s in a wheelchair was able to get everywhere and was so well cared for by the staff!! We will be back!!

Very nice rooms, so clean the whole hotel incliding pools, green areas, public restsrooms are so conforting, we would defintly come back to this hotel.

There were ants all over the room and in the bed. Even after changing rooms, there were still ants. BLDG 4000. The food was subpar. The drinks must have been watered down because we never even had a buzz. The staff acted like they didn't know what we were saying. I understand they speak Spanish, but I have never had that issue before. The hotel was just a complete NO. I will never visit another Riu Property. They didn't care about the inconvenience. I was not happy with my visit. I never realized how your accommodations could ruin an entire vacation...

Room was clean and comfortable However,We had bad experiences, first the internet was out an entire day, no urgency from the resort to get ir restored, seems like it’s a common thing. For my transportation to the airport it took the front desk 45 minutes to let the driver in the premises, because safety reasons, I had to personally go down to the lobby to beg them to let the driver in. The resort is too big and too much walking which I didn’t mind it’s a nice place to walk around, except when you’re trying to find the restroom closest to the restaurants. Which takes me to my final and worst complaint, food poisoning, I was sick for 5 days from eating at the buffet, no plastic gloves provided, hand sanitizer or nearby washrooms A few employees/staff were gracious and helpful but the majority of them were kind of rude My first time at a Riu hotel with high expectations, most likely the last one, other cheaper resorts just as good but woth nicer people and less rules with transportation rules

We were extremely disappointed in the level of service and hospitality. The food was beyond awful even at the nicer steak house it was flavorless and lacked in presentation . The Mexican food was the wort we could not even eat it. The fruit, meats and veggies were literally going bad on the buffet. The hotel itself looks good from afar but it was makeup on a pig as they obviously tried to renovate years ago and did a poor job. The water park was not great the slides for the smaller kids were boarded up with plywood you could not see your kids it looked awful not like the photos online. The rooms had paper thin walls you can hear everything and smell everything!! The house keeping never restocked the basics or the drinks in the mini bar. I had never look forward to leaving a vacation more then this. It’s really unfortunate I thought this hotel brand had higher standards.

The room was fantastic, comfortable, clean and no mildew smell which is very common at hotels. Soap, shampoo is large bottles attached to walls. No toothbrush or toothpaste so bring everything you need or you can go to the shop and buy it if you forgot it.

Loved that we picked the Elite Club which has their exclusive members only pools, restaurants, and lounges. This hotel has many food options like buffet, american, japanese, and other options. Even a food court available. The employees provide amazing, friendly service. Clean room, comfy bed, and there pillows were a dream. I will definitely back.

THe room was very spacious, comfortable and clean. Well stocked. The property is huge. The staff was great. I just wish that the water park was more handicapped accessible. The food was average but plentiful.

The room was clean and very nice, my only complain with the room is that the ac was not cold enough. Also the transfer to and from the airport were included but I was not able to find who was going to transfer me to the Hotel when I arrived, more details and a contact can fix that. Other than that my family had a blast, the water park is very cool. And there is plenty of food options. The hotel staff were nice overall but they can smile more, I saw some sad faces around.

The food was terrible, and the Wi-Fi worked well for the first two days, but on day three, it kept disconnecting. I couldn’t connect my phone to the TV to use it as a speaker, and I wasn’t even given a remote for my room. My friends, who stayed on the family side of the hotel, had to deal with a roach infestation in their room. They eventually switched rooms, but it was still disgusting. Water bugs were found on the beds and behind the chairs. The room service menu had very few options, and the food at the sports bar was awful. The breakfast eggs tasted like plastic. My friend also noticed a bug coming out of her champagne when she asked the waitress for it. The waitress quickly replaced the bottle and glass, but when my friend asked if that was a bug she saw, the waitress acted clueless. There was far more bad than good during our stay. Overall, I do not recommend this hotel.

The Rui is beautiful and the staff was super friendly and helpful… Food and drinks were on point… The only complaint I have is I upgraded my room to the oceanfront swim out which was beautiful and clean but had a terrible sewage odor… They were not able to fix it but they did send a nice package with a note apologizing…champagne and souvenirs… Luckily we brought incense which helped a lot with the smell

Excellent services from all staff

I mistakenly selected Riu Palace Bávaro instead of Riu Palace Punta Cana, but it was the best mistake I’ve made. Alexis, Marcos, Enrique, Natanel, Luis Orangel and Rafael truly exceeded expectations and all provided top tier customer service . Everyone was very nice and professional. My birthday trip was very relaxing and an amazing time. Thank you all for all that you do!

Not the experience we expected at all , a lot of the staff people had a really bad and unprofessional attitude compared to others resorts , some of them were really nice but most of them were acting as if they were being forced to serve you. That wasn’t everything , we went for a family trip and on the first day of our stay a staff member had already went inside the room and stole money from us within the first hour of getting the room . The worst part is the staff at reception didn’t do anything at all to try to take care of the situation or anything , so basically they told us all we could do is put the do not disturb sign at our door which meant we didn’t had no cleaning service no change of towels/sheets , nothing at all just to keep our valuables from being stolen. It is unreal and it hasn’t been the only time that this has happened on a trip to Dominican Republic but the fact that the staff doesn’t do anything about it not even de-escalate the situation makes it worse. Also be prepared for no security at all at the resort , you’re even going to find drug dealers on the beach at night without a care in the world , they offered me drugs in front of two 12 year old kids but of course they wouldn’t do anything about that either.

Personal service at front desk was horrible

Food and dining service was terrible, food did not taste good at all and the service for the food was terrible, no one would a knowledge you and they would walk right past you and not even offer water, tables weren’t set up we would use left over silverware from the table and not even given napkins, I am bilingual thankfully and spoke to them in Spanish, it was worse treatment. Compared to when spoken in English, place view is amazing and very clean but will never come back due to the service! Front desk is great and so is the bar, the drinks were great- the food was not well

From start where security would not let me friend drop me off to hotel, made me walk 20 minutes with my bags to the front door. Scheduling return transport was even worst.

Excelent property with very helpful and friendly staff. Amazing beach

The staff at this restaurant was fantastic! Alexis, the check-in staff, was incredibly helpful and explained everything in detail. Ozuna, our waiter at the buffet, remembered our drink orders every time we sat at his section. Benjamin, the bartender by the aerobics pool, was always attentive to my group. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and attentive.

Staff was weirdly rude

The room is good and clean, the hotel is Beautiful and modern, but, the employies are not polite.

The beach was clear of traffic expect for people walking

Hotel is freshly renovated. Food was excellent but cold on the thematic restaurants. People smoke cigarettes all over the property and the pool, security doesn’t interfere. The beach was unusable and dirty. Hotel doesn’t clean the beach. Annoying vendors at the beach, property allows them around. Internet works very well, food at the snack areas are excellent, specially the ones around the pool. I would not recommend this hotel if you want the beach, if you don’t care about the beach it is a solid stay. In our case, it was a big waste of money.

The place was great , but beaches were not so great . So much seaweed you could not walk or get in the ocean.

The property provided all of the conveniences and options that you would look for in an all inclusive resort. The beach was absolutely incredible in terms of shade from the palm trees, and the look and feel of a Caribbean resort.

The overall trip and resort experience was amazing, and the all-inclusive amenities were great. However, the main issue during my stay was the beach. We booked with the understanding that the beach was on-site, but unfortunately, it was completely covered in seaweed from the ocean up to the cabanas. The smell was extremely unpleasant, making it impossible to enjoy even one day at the beach. No one informed us before or during the trip, and I did not see any cleanup service addressing the issue. I wish we had been advised ahead of time so we could have rescheduled, as the beach was a major reason we chose this property.

It felt like the beach needed more sand, there were a lot of bushes, trees, and roots. The sand started only by the water, and the rest was covered by the trees and sun loungers. The sunloungers were old, and some had holes in them. The food was plentiful and there were a lot of options, however, many fruits were taseteless or bitter, the fresh squeezed juises were diluted with water, and thus became tasteless. Some of the food was prepared poorly, and either too raw or overdone. The whole resort uses Pepsi products, however, all Pepsi was diet, and tasted accourdingly. The veriety of sodas was diet Pepsi (no word diet on the label, however, if you read it, it said zero carbs), 7up, and orange soda. The specialty restaraunts were inconsistent, and we went to one restaraunt twice within 3 days, and it felt like we were in different restaraunt each time. The food was prepared differently, and what tasted well one night, was unedible the other. The staff spoke mainly Spanish, and as Engliah speaking guests, we sometiems struggled to communicate. The resort was clean, and the room was comfortable. The pools were well maintained, and the bars carried brand names of alcohol, however, when i asked for a margarita at three different bars, i got something that contained tequila, but it was not a margarita. The best part of the resort was the location, pools, and the rooms. The biggest disappointment was the food, and the diet Pepsi... will try again somewhere else...

Good made all my family extremely sick. We stayed at this facility for a total of 6 days. In our first day there all 5 of us got sick and didn’t recover until 2 weeks later!! The hotel itself is very nice but not worth it when you can’t even enjoy your stay because you can’t leave your room. We heard multiple people around the hotel say they were also feeling ill. I would urge anyone not stay here!!

First of all the RIU is an absolutely amazing stay. The hotel was absolutely gorgeous, clean and the staff is top tier. The pools are always clean, the beach is stunning, swim up bars were so much fun, and the staff truly makes the place what it is. Rafiel the bartender at the swim up bar was our favorite, there were so many other staff that was just lovely. The only reason it got 4 stars I would say is the food. It needs actual Dominican food there. The American country restaurant was disgusting. The buffet had something for everyone the food was better but all in all it needs a spot that has authentic Dominican food with flavor. I went to DR with my family I want Dominican food too.

Agave Restaurant is the worst restaurant I’ve been. Food was awful and everything tasted like mezcal with a spicy mess. Krystal Restaurant was average, nothing special. Elite Club Restaurant was good. The Buffet area was great and the waitress and staff were kind. About the room, we told the staff that we needed Shower Gel because it was over and never refilled it. You are missing on important details.

Other than breakfast which was fine, the rest of the food was not up to par. The food at the Mexican restaurant was inedible. The Italian restaurant was awful. The only decent places to eat were the steak house and the Asian. Very disappointing!

Food was horrible

Over all the resort is way better than what we expected, very clean, friendly staff, and multiple pools that fit everyone’s taste. The only issue at the resort is the food. Despite the few restaurants it’s really hard to be seated without prior reservations and the food is not that great!

The staff is rude and don't care about customer complains. We are vegetarians and looked at all restaurants to ensure they have good food options. When you visit them, they simply say they dont have veg options. I spoke to Chef, manager and finally resort manager but helpless.
