Great hotel in an excellent location, just a short walk from the station. The pool and jacuzzi are lovely, and while the hotel could use a little TLC, it only adds to its charm. The breakfast was excellent – highly recommended. Thank you 😊

Great hotel..yes bit dated but absolutely spotless clean! Pool n Sauna facilities brilliant. Food fantastic and staff could'nt do enough for you. Room was very bright and airy. Only one wee small thing..shower was very sluggish but again spotless clean. Totally relaxing break. We will definitely be back!

An old hotel, so showing it's age in places, but clean and comfortable. It also has a decent pool for a swim, plus jacuzzi and sauna. We've stayed a few times. Quiet and easy parking on previous visits (out of season), but car parking spaces limited tjis time as hotel was full. And "evening entertainment" was audible in our top floor room... Breakfast is good. Overall good value. We will stay again, espcially for the pool.

The room is huge as is the bathroom. We enjoyed the sauna, pool and hot tub (which wasn't very hot) a nice way to relax. Had dinner there as well, the pizza was excellent.

Could hear people in shower next door in 118 and also people in room above 119. Sink cracked and leaking on to floor. The hotel is a bit dated and could do with an upgrade. Superior room with view was a bit basic for the price and view was mainly the car park and trees at front, not worth the extra money we paid. Tv is a real pain to navigate. Staff were very pleasant. Not allowed to choose a meal from dining room menu in the bar area with a bar meal which is what we wanted. If I thought a bit quicker I should have said you have lost custom and I would eat elsewhere. Spoke to another couple who were getting charged nearly 3 times the price in the dining room compared to the bar, they went and got drinks in bar and took them through themselves. Seem to have some very picky ways of dealing with customers at times. Pool, sauna and Jacuzzi were nice but could do with a plumber to check the pressure in the changing room showers. Night walk on steps to go to town was very dark but on day we left there was a workman putting up lights which will improve the safety of people walking them. 4 disabled parking posts but you can only fit in 3 cars.

The staff at the hotel are lovely, the breakfast was good, the gym/pool facilities were good. Parking at the hotel was excellent - the only downside is that the hotel is in need of a refurbishment - carpets in public areas are threadbare and patched, within the room they were stained and wrinkled and the bathroom could have done with an update but all in all it was an ok stay

The exterior of the hotel was fantastic and very charming. The interior, however, was disappointing. There was an unpleasant smell in the room and the hallways. The hotel was very noisy. I accidentally spilled some water in the bathroom and tried to clean it with a towel, which turned completely black.

The room was manky. The carpet was actually disgusting it made me baulk. Stained, like urine. Dust on top of pictures about 1cm thick. Duvet was torn. Shower terrible. No heater in bathroom. General cleanliness was so so poor.

Poor hot water supply for showering, had a tepid water shower, my wife didn’t shower because of water temperature, basically no improvement since our last visit. I informed reception and they both looked at each other and in unison replied O’ yes we will inform maintenance ! knowing full well the poor water temperature is a ongoing issue! Doh!

Uncomfortable bed, lying on my side hurt due to how hard the bed was. We had a massive room and a tiny double bed. Hotel is dated. Around 2.30am there was music reverberating through the room, my husband went downstairs to find two large speakers plugged into an iPhone blaring our music, which he unplugged, but there was no one around. Shower was very hot and hard to find a balance between scolding and freezing. As we went to check out, another client was having an argument at reception, as we had to get going for our onward journey, we left the key without saying anything about the lack of sleep all night.

First off the parking in front is limited but offers a drop off and there is a car park across the street. Check in was quick & easy. The gentleman helping at reception was friendly and gave us the run down of the hotel from the bar/ restaurant and the pool/sauna rules. The hotel is very dated and could use some work. The walls are very thin and you could hear everything! The hallway light is left on and you can see it through the door to your room. Our hair dryer was not working, tv didn’t work properly and the shower head leaked causing the floor to get soaked. Front desk was very helpful with getting us another hair dryer and fixing the TV for us promptly. There’s a bar for getting in & out of the shower which is nice since it’s a pretty big step in. It wasn’t the worst but I probably won’t be back anytime soon.

Food was great, service was mixed between very friendly and some rather fed up sounding. The room was well overdue a refurb, bathroom had no working fan and was very cheaply done a long time ago. I could hear the conversation from next door along with being able to see out the hall from under the door so hall lights lit the room through the night. Overall ok but got unlucky with the room allocation.

Lovely looking hotel from outside but rooms and decor inside is a bit tatty. Good sized room, clean but could do with a facelift. Plenty of parking available. Short walk into Main Street but be aware of all uphill on the back to hotel. Didn’t have breakfast or food so can’t comment on that.

Booked premium room with a view. As far as I could tell, the only premium thing about the room was a bay window. Room looked into the parking lot. It was over an entrance door and was very noisy, particularly when they had an evening of live entertainment. Neither the coffee maker, nor the hairdryer worked. Room was very dated. They must be renovating as they were moving mattresses through the lobby as we arrived. Curtains were badly stained and room smelled musty. Bathroom was clean and we enjoyed the pool. Short walk to the village. (Uphill on the way back.) Breakfast was good.

We arrived 3 hrs early thinking we would explore the town before check-in. Unfortunately it was pouring of rain. My partner asked in the hotel to use the toilet explaining what's our plans were to the receptionist who offered us access to the health suite, we were delighted and really appreciated early access to the health suite. We practically had it to ourselves. It was lovely, the sauna was very relaxing with the tranquil music softly playing. It really made a difference to our stay, gave us more time to enjoy the hotel after booking in. Our room was warm, cosy, clean. We enjoyed our dinner in the restaurant. The following morning we had a lovely breakfast, all fresh and plenty of options to suit everyone. Prices in the bar were reasonable offering a relaxing area to enjoy a few drinks. Staff were all really lovely, so helpful. All in all we had a lovely 2 night stay definitely recommend and hope to return in the future.

Swift and easy check in. Polite and friendly staff. Room ready on arrival and prepared to a good high standard. Very quiet and peaceful. Good restaurant with polite a friendly service along with good food. Excellent selection at the buffet breakfast. Fast and easy check out. Recommended and I would use again.

Girl on reception was polite and welcoming, I had an issue where my card was charged twice and wanted to check on check out that it had been refunded for one of the charges, the gentleman was adamant I had not been charged twice as one had been cancelled although his colleague left a note for the manager to day before to refund one of the payments, his manner was not very good, I was going to give feedback that the room was cold heating did not work and the flop is very slanted in the room with also a part of the carpet through the middle could potentially cause a trip hazard but he didn’t ask how our stay was so no option but to leave it on here.

Lovely looking hotel from outside but rooms and decor inside is a bit tatty. Good sized room, clean but could do with a facelift. Plenty of parking available. Short walk into Main Street but be aware of all uphill on the back to hotel. Didn’t have breakfast or food so can’t comment on that.

Property a bit out of the way for elderly walking especially walking up hill to the hotel and very difficult to get a taxi if not impossible. Loved the pool and spa facilities very relaxing. Staff very helpful, welcoming and polite, nice breakfast.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The rooms were a bit dated (especially the bathrooms) but the facilities were good overall and the staff were friendly/accommodating. They have pétanque which kept “the kids” entertained 😜

Rooms are very dated and don’t look like the photos, those must have been taken a few years ago. Our room reeked of smoke (even though it was non smoking) and had to keep the windows open to air out. We also asked for a room away from all entrances (which they confirmed was arranged) and we were put right in front of the entrance door to the corridor for all the rooms. Food at the restaurant was very mediocre, couldn’t finish my steak it was so chewy.

An older Scottish hotel , clean but felt a little tired. Prepaid meals were good, filling, but lacked variety. Breakfast choices were excellent. Very pet friendly. We didn’t use the pool since we had the puppy with us. Staff were friendly but busy as occasionally had to wait longer than necessary for service. Bed was clean and very comfortable. Television doesn’t have WiFi activated so you can’t stream your own accounts, Some people don’t like sitting in the bar after walking all day and prefer relaxing in their room - the TVs have the ability to be SMART allow the guests to utilise this!

Staff member informed us dogs allowed in any of rooms with appropriate permissions. No obvious signs of this on booking sites. Only 'dog friendly' which is very open to interpretation. We booked a large room and got upgraded. This hotel is sort of like a castle. High ceilings and we had nice view of the forest. We didn't use the spa or restaurant, but they looked good. Staff were very helpful. They had a lift, but we were on the main floor anyway. Plenty of parking.

Very disappointed by the standard double room (216). Very dated decor, cobwebs present, spiders eggs, previous guest’s dirty sock in the wardrobe! Shower was dreadful, no water pressure, bathroom from the 1970/80’s. Bed was extremely firm and uncomfortable as were the pillows so hardly slept. Breakfast however was excellent and the staff there were very polite.
