This was our first time in Tokyo and The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon was honestly perfect. It's very close Asakusa Station and Sensoji, where we spent most of a day exploring. Ueno Park was great to walk to while exploring but you can also take a train. The lobby, restaurant, and terrace where all wonderful. You can see Mt Fuji peeking out from the far right corner. The staff was superb and very friendly as well. The room had excellent views and had exceptional space. We would love to stay here again!

A wonderful hotel in a fantastic location. The staff were lovely, breakfast was very good and the rooftop bar was spectacular with views of Tokyo Skytree and Senso-Ji temple. Rooms were very big by Japanese standards and it was only a 2 min walk to two metro lines. Would recommend.

Very clean room and friendly staff. The hotel lobby, the top floor, had a great view of Asakusa. The area was great and you could go out at night to visit Senso-Ji when the crowds were gone. A lot of great food options around and was close to Asakusa station, which made moving around convenient. Staying in Asakusa was much more quiet and more my speed compared to Shibuya and Shinjuku.

Room is clean but old. Toilet tiles cracked. Furniture are black and causes room to be dark thus can see dust flying around but not the dirty dusty kind, mainly are from clothing or blanket. Mattress are soft and causes difficulty getting up for plus size with back issues. Location is wonderful. Staffs and housekeeping are great. Bottle of drinking water, bath salt, toothbrush + paste and other amenities are provided.

The rooms were a bit small but nice. The shower was really nice, and the Japanese toilets were great. Nice restaurant and bar upstairs. Also a great view of the Tokyo Skytree and Tokyo. Many great restaurants within walking distance, and the Asakusa train station as well.

Very good stay, convenient location for east Tokyo, staff are excellent, room was large and clean with good amenities. If I had to give a negative, I would say that, although very tasty, the breakfast was a bit expensive for what it was. Would definitely choose again if we were going to stay in the same area.

room was fine Pillow was too soft, can implement pillow menu for customer to choose to have comfortable sleep Breakfast can give it a miss if staying for less than 5 nights, as the main course option is limited and everyday is the same options. Buffet menu on top of the main course is also the same daily, would give it a missed and try breakfast outside. Staff Friendly Wifi in room not stable and connection poor keep disconnecting from phone Transportation convenient, although same stations but has different line heading to airport there’s direct train but about 20mins walk from hotel including finding your way to the stations and lift. Overall stay, I would say 3.8/5. Will stay again due to location

Stayed here in 2018 with good memories of its nice roof top overlooking Skytree and Asakusa, spacious interiors, great size bathroom. So we chose this hotel again. Too bad similar bigger affordable king room types were occupied because of new year. Only smaller king room was available. But the room size in this hotel is considered bigger in general, so it is still not bad. The gate is a bit more western style hotel setting, with a good in-house western cuisine and nice Skytree view. The impression this time is, the hotel maintained its quality overall, staff is still friendly and service is good in sending our luggage’s ahead to room before we returned to our room. The drawback is, the rooms have not been updated, and they are a bit dark in the lighting and its design.

We stayed twice at this hotel, at the beginning and ending of our Japan vacation. Both instances service was impeccable. Rooms were spacious, serviced daily. Beautiful views from the rooftop lounge and front desk was very helpful with sending and receiving luggage transfers. Fast internet, complimentery coffee/tea in the restaurant (we did not take the breakfast options) and very comfortable and spacious bed & bathroom with a seperate shower cubicle. Location is perfect. about 100m from the Ginza metro and about 200m to the Asakusa metro lines. For muslim travellers. There are a dozen or more halal eateries all within walking distance to the hotel, also a nice halal snacks and gifts store near by. Search on google maps and you'll find it. The asakusa mosque is about a 15minute walk away. We enjoyed Asakusa district, much more relaxed and spacious compared to the downtown shibuya/shinjuku etc. And this is a short 15 to 20minute metro ridde there anyway.

Nos recibió para el check-in una Chica que hablaba muy poco Ingles y nos comento que nuestra reserva no llegaba, por lo que tendríamos que pagar ahi a un precio mucho mas alto, nos negamos a hacerlo y nos comento que el Hotel ahora era un Hilton por eso el precio mas alto, luego trato de ayudarnos un chico que estaba con ella y que tampoco dominaba mas que el idioma japones, este se puso muy maleducado y desagradable con nosotros, nos hizo esperar mas de una hora, sin darnos solucion al tema, hasta que segun el le "llego la reserva" y accedio a darnos una habitacion al precio de nuestra reserva. En resumen un muy maltrato hacia nosotros a la llegada al hotel

Great place to stay in heart of the Asakusa area. Only ~1 block from Kaminarimon Gate and Nakamise shopping street. Tons of great dining places withiin 5 minute walk. Close access to subway lines. Staff is very warm & welcoming.

The location was perfect for everything we wanted to see. It’s a very walkable and safe area. The hotel itself was excellent. We booked the corner room with floor to ceiling windows. We enjoyed the view and faced the temples. The breakfast was excellent! Service at the hotel was exceptional. Highly recommend!

The hotel was not bad and the service was excellent and very helpful when we had questions or needed info. However, we booked a room with a view of the Sky Tree and we were told when we arrived that the view was blocked by a new construction. They gave us a discount but we really should have been informed months earlier. The building was complete and didn’t go up overnight. The other problem was the breakfast which was the same 3 options every morning. Also the carpets in our room had several large stains but was otherwise very clean.
