Juniper Motel Madras

First room had overwhelming odor of mold and mildew from closet that has water heater. Changed room, no odor but cleanliness was poor; mattress and cover severly stained, carpet stained throughout, dirty walls and small black bacteria flies. Outside my door was broken glass, busted railroad ties with metal brackets and garbage on side of building, old mattresses, as you exit the property. Booked online, had no idea of conditions until too late. Stay was three days too long, sadly. Property has potential.

Parking was a little tight . The night clerk was very helpful.

I chose this place largely due to the positive ratings. My room smelled like ammonia, had a huge (8-inch) hole in the carpet, and multiple large stains on carpet. I didn't even think about turning down the bed and brought my sleeping bag and pillow in from the car. The room is about 20 feet from a state highway with loud traffic all night long. Coffee cans outside each room filled with cigarette butts complete the ambiance. Buyer beware.

Holes in bathroom door, trash outside, mattress outside of a room. It appears that they picked up many items for the room from garage sales including pictures that had black mold on the matting around the picture. Checked for bedbugs didn’t find them but we did have others

The room was adequate. AC functioned well, room door did not lock and the parking lot was small and on a hill.

Motel looked good on the outside. The room was clean. Bathroom was old/dated. Bed felt like sleeping on a wood pallet. Reason for poor property is terrible parking. If you have a large P/U truck, difficult to park.

We paid $114. For a room with no coffee, water bottles, keys that worked when they felt like it, no Kleenex, a horrible mirror (that I would have thrown away) and mediocre everything. We had stayed there.before and it was nicer then. Not going back.

We had two rooms, both non smoking. One was fine but the other smelled strongly of old cigarette smoke. Layered over stake smoke was an excessive amount of strong smelling cleaner. All of our clothes, even ones we didn’t take out of our suitcases needed to be washed as soon as we got home due to how much the smell permeated them

When checking in I was told I was going to be charged $95. I gave him 100 cash. The guy then said that it was another 20 for deposit. I was going to leave and I asked for my change and he said he didn't have change just for 5$ that I would get my change back when he gave me my $20 deposit back. The next morning he didn't give me anything when i checked out. The hotel room was dirty there was cockroaches, hair, in the bathroom the lid to the fan was hanging about to fall off.

Overall the property and staff were nice. Our room, however, smelled strongly of urine, and made us nauseous all throughout the night. Wont be staying here again.

I had to throw away all my luggage in order to not bring home the bed bugs that were crawling on top of the sheets. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. STAY AWAY

Vintage property. Our room was newly updated with new furniture, nice TV, and new sink and shower, and toilet. The A/C worked well. The manager was fantastic, friendly, and ready to serve. We would definitely stay here again. Room was spotless. Don't judge a book by its cover when looking at the Juniper Motel.

The beds were clean but the bathroom was nasty with holes in the walls and door, mold, hair.... Staff was friendly.

Room had bedbugs and was filthy had to deal with Expedia for over an hour trying to get my room credited back. Will have trouble booking ahead of time again after pulling up to this pathetic mess that they have on their site. Do not book this place!! I’m not sure who could possibly leave a good review for this motel so I won’t believe another review.

An older one-story place right along the HI way. Our room was along the side, so we didn't have any traffic noise issues. If you're just passing through and want a place to sleep, it fits the bill.

Comfy bed, cold AC, great water pressure (careful of the hot water it gets really hot). Could use a better paint scheme inside and decor to take the echoing out of the room. Other than that great place!

No closet or hooks to hang clothes

The motel was a bit outdated, however the room was spacious and the bed was comfy. I would stay again if in the area.

One of the Worst Hotel Experiences I’ve Ever Had — Stay Away If I could give zero stars, I would. My recent stay at the Jupiter Hotel in Madras, Oregon was absolutely appalling. From the moment I checked in, it was clear that cleanliness and customer service are not priorities here. First, the sheets were filthy — visibly stained and clearly not changed from the last guest. There were black body hairs in the sheet and stains on the pillows. The room smelled musty, like it hadn’t been cleaned properly in weeks, and there was grime in the corners and on the bathroom floor. This isn’t a matter of high expectations; this is basic hygiene that every guest should be able to count on. Worse than the condition of the room was the attitude of the staff. I travel with a fully trained and ADA-compliant service dog, and instead of being treated with professionalism or basic courtesy, I was met with thinly veiled hostility. Staff were dismissive, unaccommodating, and made me feel unwelcome and burdensome simply because I had a service animal with me — which is both unethical and illegal. Within minutes of checking in, I took the dirty stained pillow up to the front desk and brought up concerns about the room. I asked for another room and first she agreed, but asked me to vacate the other room first. When I returned with my stuff and gave her the key. She immediately said I’m canceling your reservation and refunding you your money.

This motel is affordable and good access to things I need.

Inexpensive but very old and in poor condition, check in friendly, clean, no coffee in room or lobby
