An OK hotel in an excellent location…but not what I was hoping for in terms of service and facilities. Decent rooms but a tired lobby with limited seating, no coffee maker in the room so you need to go to the lobby to get it- “Holiday Inn Express” style. There is a rooftop bar but with limited availability because there are usually private events- when it is available the service is mixed depending on who you happen to get serving you. In all this is a hotel which depends on its location, and would benefit from some enhanced service training for staff.

Beautiful and historic hotel. Great location. Unfortunately 3 of their 4 elevators weren’t working. One elevator was serving the entire hotel, which was very busy.

Was a great location and staff was awesome. Only issue was the elevators…three out of four were out of service so wait times were quite lengthy. Unfortunate situation for guests in a big city hotel.

Staff was great. Room was nice but needs more ventilation. Every shower steamed up the entire room. The rooftop terrace is a joke though. It has nothing to do with the hotel. They wanted a $40 door charge and it fills the elevators full of random people as you're trying to get to your room

The property is in a great location and very walkable to main tourist attractions. There is NO coffee maker in the room. This was a disappointment. They do have coffee and tea in the lobby. The cups are super small and there was no decaf coffee ( my husband drinks decaf) and only herbal tea, nothing with caffiene for me. They put it away pretty early so if you dont get down there early, you're out of luck. The hotel is decorated super cute, very electic. Mostly the hotel was clean. My complaint and why i gave 3 stars for cleanliness was because there was a flea in our room. They do allow dogs. I guess thats how it got there. Not much space in the bathroom, limited hooks to hang things. Also, they have a barn door for the bathroom and no fan in the bathroom. I hate that! The roof top bar is nice, they have great drinks. But they do close for private parties. We could only go up one night. The next night it was closed. Would I stay here again? Maybe, if I couldnt get in somewhere else, I would. I would look else where first.

The check-in was great Consuela was amazing. The rooms had films of dust On the furniture. The room is carpeted and there was visible dust on the floor near the furniture. They advertised walking shower but the two rooms I received had old tubs and the grouting had mildew. The bathroom fixtures, tissue holder and soap holder had rust all over. And rust markings all over the sink. It is pet friendly, all the elevators were covered in pet hair. I did valet parking. That was horrible. It was raining the first day, they brought my car down but parked it around the corner and gave me to the keys to get my own car in the pouring rain. Then they texted me stating my car is ready. When I arrived they returned my car by accident so I had to wait another 20 minutes which made me late for an event.

Our room was clean, quiet. The bed was very comfortable. Everything in the bathroom was in good condition. the Monaco is within walking distance of outstanding restaurants, historic sites, and the river. Valet parking worked well and the front desk staff were pleasant and responsive. The only annoyance was the lack of working elevators. Only one worked during our stay.

Great location. Room was a bit shabby considering the price with peeling wallpaper and blackout curtain coming off its rod. In addition, if you’re gonna have quirky Knick knacks in the rooms like dog shaped lamps and coral and fake candles, make sure to dust them.

Location can't be beat. You can self park a block away. Lobby is lovely and morning coffee is delicious. Rooms, halls need love. Our room was very musty. The bathroom window shade had mold on it. I mentioned this and let the front desk know we would be gone all day. They didn't change it or clean it. They sent someone up with a new shower curtain. Then gave us $20 to spend at the restaurant. But we had to leave the next morning before it opened. Hallway carpet had holes in it. Bed spring on one of our beds was broken. I wouldn't spend this money to stay here again.

We checked in late, front desk was very nice & helpful but the hotel is very dark at night. The valet service was terrible! Honestly I don’t even know what else to say. Young & rude! The room needs a deep clean. Carpet was dirty, we found candy and a spoon along the edge of our beds which was easily visible but housecleaning just missed it. The bathroom fixtures are all rusted, the water at the sink barely came out and it made a horrible noise. No mattress protector on the bed and no fitted sheet. A flat sheet was just lying in the bed. I booked this hotel based on reviews and people got this one wrong!

Lovely place!!!! Unique decor, wine at 5, friendly staff. We stayed in 2 different rooms (we added a day), and the first bathroom was WAY better (I don't understand the "half glass" door in the shower. You need to step in and get all cold and wet to turn on the shower before you start!). Otherwise, I am so impressed with this place!!!

We had a fantastic stay at the Kimpton Monaco. The room was spacious, quiet, and beautifully appointed, with one of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in. Mornings started right with complimentary coffee, and we appreciated the well-equipped gym for a quick workout. Evenings were equally enjoyable, thanks to the excellent cocktails at the hotel bar and the overall relaxing atmosphere throughout the property. From start to finish, the service, comfort, and attention to detail made our stay memorable. We’ll definitely be returning!

Actually this was a solid stay. Bed was awesome. And even tho there was a mishap with the sheets (our fault) cleaning service was prompt, took care of everything. Tv's need updating. And rooms are advertised as having mini bars, this is 100% not the case. Area is around hotel is solid.

The room was VERY small and uncomfortable Pictures on line do not reflect the real experience. The room was not clean - everything felt old and dirty. Door to the bathroom was not locking. Overall weathered and disheveled feel. We were charged $8 PER bottle for the filtered water available in the room for “mini bar food” When I booked the stay I was offered a free drink per guest per stay which was never offered or received. I am not planning on staying at Kimpton again.

The hotel was comfortable. Our room was clean and very quiet. The water pressure was ridiculous. We would turn the shower on and let it run about 10 minutes to get it hot enough for a shower. Our showers took twice as long as we had to stand under the dribble to rinse shampoo out of our hair. I know they’re trying to save the planet, but how does forcing people to take 25 minute showers doing that? The location of this hotel is perfect-right across the street from the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Walking distance to all historic sites.

The hotel was nice but rooms were small for the price. Rooms were clean but the chair in my room was ripped and the phone did not work and had to be replaced. Staff was very friendly and helpful, more than any other place I have stayed. I would recommend this hotel but mainly for the location and staff.

We had a great stay at the Hotel Monaco! All staff members were friendly and welcoming. The bathroom was large and clean, and I enjoyed the large soaking tub. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was firm but comfortable. We could hear loud music from the rooftop bar (I think) until just about midnight, which could be an issue for some folks. Otherwise the room was quiet. My only criticism is that the carpet in our room looked like it could’ve used a deep clean. Next time I’d also request a pet-free room since the hotel is pet friendly, which I forgot about when I booked our stay. Overall it was a great experience!

They gave me the worst room possible. Interior room facing dark courtyard. The room itself was so beat up it’s like it hasn’t been refreshed in a decade. From the rusted Qtip amenity jar to the ratty carpet that was peeling up- I didn’t have to search for the disgusting imperfections of this room- no, they kept jumping out at me! Water stains on all furniture, curtains that are off their tracks, bedsheets that weren’t even tucked in to the mattress and the beat up corners and edges on anything that had legs…. The list goes on and on. Truly I was too tired to request a room change but I knew from the bad attitude I was given from the front desk upon checkin that any room at this hotel was going to be bad. I guess this negative experience started at the front door where the doorman glanced at me, and then promptly turned away leaving me to open the door and pull in my own luggage. I walked to the front desk and the attendants stared at me like “what do you want?” Dinner at the Red Owl Tavern was not great- especially for the price. I had the roast chicken for $22 and it was salty and clearly not freshlly prepared. The AC blew freezing cold air all night even though I had the temp set at 72 degrees. I had to wear earplugs to sleep because I could hear the elevator going up and down all night. Overall, the property, the restaurant, and my room was in disrepair. I expected more from this brand hotel and was extremely disappointed. I would never stay there again.

The check-in was great Consuela was amazing. The rooms had films of dust On the furniture. The room is carpeted and there was visible dust on the floor near the furniture. They advertised walking shower but the two rooms I received had old tubs and the grouting had mildew. The bathroom fixtures, tissue holder and soap holder had rust all over. And rust markings all over the sink. It is pet friendly, all the elevators were covered in pet hair. I did valet parking. That was horrible. It was raining the first day, they brought my car down but parked it around the corner and gave me to the keys to get my own car in the pouring rain. Then they texted me stating my car is ready. When I arrived they returned my car by accident so I had to wait another 20 minutes which made me late for an event.

The hotel canceled our entire reservation without notifying us after we reached out to Expedia to reschedule our check in day. Decent rooms but a tired lobby with limited seating, no coffee maker in the room so you need to go to the lobby to get it- “Holiday Inn Express” style. There is a rooftop bar but with limited availability because there are usually private events- when it is available the service is mixed depending on who you happen to get serving you. In all this is a hotel which depends on its location, and would benefit from some enhanced service training for staff.

We were a party of 6 and it seemed like it was always a hassle for staff at red owl to out together a table for breakfast. We were repeatedly told to wait and then got seated upstairs in the dark when the whole restaurant was free. The hostess with short hair and glasses was especially rude every day we went. When we finally sat down, there was a pot of coffee at the table. We later find out they charged us $29 for coffee which we didn’t order. When we came home, I was charged $34. I called the hotel and they said it was for the bottle water, which I was told that I was entitled to two and I took only two. They said they will reverse the charge. My sister was charged for her entire stay when her stay had been all paid for already through Expedia. It seems like you guys are incorrectly charging, seems like scamming your customers. If you stay here, check your bill at red owl, make sure to ask them to print out receipt at check out and double check your credit card when you arrive home!!!

We really enjoyed our stay (twice!) at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco. It's in a great location - & was very centrally located to explore all the Philadelphia sights & to do some shopping. The quality of the rooms was very good & the staff were friendly & helpful. The food at the Red Owl Tavern next door was excellent - as was the complimentary wine hour held each night. A real bonus, that's for sure!

My new favorite in Philly. I'd be happy to stay here again in the future. The staff is welcoming and attentive, the space is very pretty and unique, and they really care about your comfort. Breakfast is in the Red Owl tavern, highly recommended. Plus, you can actually see they care about sustainability — not just put cheesy signs.

The property is in a great location, and the hotel is excellent. However, although they mentioned chat you have a minibar in the room, it is not true. No minibar in the room. On Sunday the bar closes very early and do does the restaurant. We arrived at 9:00 pm and everything’s was closed, few choices to eat around on Sunday night.

Great location in the Historic District next to the Liberty Bell. Great staff. Had breakfast in the restaurant and it was very good. Used valet parking and it was very convenient! We were attending a concert in Camden and the Kimpton Hotel was recommended by a family member. Will stay here again. Thank you!

I love this hotel, the location is wonderful for seeing the city. The rooms are enormous which is great when traveling with family. It's great to sit in the lobby and have coffee in the morning. Valet was very nice but the staff at the front desk wasn't the most pleasant or helpful. Overall great hotel.
