The Remington Suite Hotel and Spa

It is a beautiful place to stay. Rooms are great. Did not like that they require a spa treatment to access the pool. I understand it is to discourage a more rowdy crowd, but to have to book, if available, a very expensive treatment, to have a chance to access a small indoor pool is a bit extreme. Maybe not allowing children under 18 in the pool would be better.

Gorgeous, and recently remodeled hotel suites! Our suite (the entire hotel) was very clean (important to my husband), and so quiet! The bed and linens/blankets were wonderful. The staff members (everyone we met) were so friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make us feel special. Pet friendly. The spa is awesome. We’re looking forward to staying here again next month when we come to town. Highly recommend.

Expensive as is downtown. Parking is expensive and not included in rate. Breakfast was continental at best.

The hotel is in historic downtown Shreveport. Its walking distance to a couple bars and restaurants. Valet parking is available, and street parking is free on the weekends. The rooms were nice and roomy and clean. I like that they have a small "store" in the hotel lobby to purchase drinks and snacks and items you may have forgotten. The check-in staff were kind and helpful. We also got a massage in the spa, and it was wonderful!

Awesome place to stay. Very friendly staff. Rooms are unique and comfortable. Location is great with restaurants and a cool bar next door, Stray Cat. Amy will make you a nice cocktail. If you can, check into the Spa and get a massage. Very good and relaxing.

We were not told that there is no pool access until their spa is done for the day when we checked in! No pool we were told until 6pm for the days we were there. Very disappointed. Room was

I feel some amenities were not accurately advertised such as the pool. One of the main reasons we picked this hotel was because of the space and pool. Not having access to the pool outside of spa services was a big let down.

The Remington is an interesting hotel. Downtown. Older building. Front desk staff were extremely friendly and courteous. Two issues kept me from giving 5 stars. One was the WiFi. It was slow and kept disconnecting. We missed the last 1.5 minutes of the AFC championship game because of that. Secondly the tap water in our room was awful. Most hotels provide bottled water, the Remington should do that. We were traveling with a pet and they were super accommodating. The pet area is an astroturf rooftop - our do loved it.

The Remington is a unique boutique hotel that could be quite attractive with some better amenities. The breakfast bar is a limited cold item offering below the level of even the most budget-conscious chain that includes a morning breakfast. WiFi and TV connection was weak and subject to intermittent loss of signal. TV service is a ROKU streaming box that probably is fine for anyone familiar with it but frustrating to someone unfamiliar with the service or the remote control. All I wanted was local broadcast news, but could never find it. Wasn’t really interested in streaming news reports from East and West Coast cities that weren’t current, but those were the options easily accessible via Roku. Hotel has a nice bar but no food service, bar snacks or even nibbles like popcorn, peanuts, pretzels, etc. Front desk receptionist pulled multiple duties, including bartender and valet parking. Things like this keep the property from fulfilling its possibilities.

I don't know if I will ever believe Expedia reviews again. This is not a nice hotel. The person who checked me in was nice enough. But the huge lobby was dark as if they were trying to save on electricity and our room felt like a dungeon. In what was basically 3 consecutive rooms in our hotel room, there was one window, total, and the window was frosted and had bars on it. No natural light at all. We felt like we were in the basement, and we paid for the "VIP" room! The decor in the hotel and the room was very dated. I was not comfortable sitting on the upholstered furniture because it didn't appear clean. The toilet seat had a huge yellow stain on it. I didn't feel comfortable having a shower because the color of the bathroom tiles made it difficult to determine if they were clean. The entire hotel had a strange odor. The outside door to the hotel would not close properly and was not self-locking. Anyone from the street could walk in and walk directly to our room. I barricaded the door with chairs to feel safe. There were no amenities at all except for a closet with things you could purchase like bottled water and such. I will never stay here again.

We had a very nice stay at the Remington. The rooms was very well appointed with artwork. It was very clean as well.

I suppose one's experience here will be driven by the room they end up in. We checked into Gainsborough and were appalled by the condition of the bathroom. The sink and tub had been painted over, with large areas peeled off. The valves in the Jacuzzi tub were corroded. The area behind the toilet had visible water damage. When we asked to change rooms, the condescending manager on duty, "K2", informed me that the property is historic. I told her I did not want a historic 40-year-old bathroom. She offered a paid "upgrade" to Cassatt, while ominously cautioning of its spiral staircase. Her warning led me to ask to see the room to make sure it would not be a problem but she refused. The "death spiral" staircase is probably fun for a kid, but unsafe for anyone over middle-age. The bathroom had been slightly upgraded with marble tile walls and floor, but for reasons unknown still retained the same painted, corroded 1960's Jacuzzi tub and painted sink basin aesthetic as the first room. The "antique" furniture was circa 1960's, painted, with chunks of pink paint missing from old watermarks on the nightstand. The overall condition of the two rooms we saw was poor and did not reflect the photos and reviews on Hotels.com, which makes me question the veracity of this platform, and whether I will trust it in the future. We checked out without spending the night in either of those creepy rooms. However, the bellman Pat, and Mikayla at the front desk were both lovely.

When I'm in Shreveport, this has always been my go-to hotel for rest and relaxation. However, my recent stay was disappointing. I found towels from a previous guest left in the room, and the bathroom was not as clean as expected. When I went down to get a toothbrush, I was told I had to pay for it, which was surprising. It seems the hotel is under new management, and the difference is noticeable. In my previous stays, I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was extremely hospitable and made my stays memorable. This time, the front desk called me at 10 AM to check if we were still in the room and then called again an hour later, reminding me of the 11 AM checkout time. Unfortunately, due to these issues, I won't be returning.

This hotel needs updating. The floors were sticky and the bathtub appeared unclean.

Nice staff but no housekeeping for 2 days. Not enough bathroom facilities (towel or toilet paper).

It was a great stay. We stayed in the Millet room. The room was big and nicely furnished. There is construction going on in the building, so it was extrememly loud for most of the day, but did quiet down around 5-6 every day. There are no black out curtains in the room and the blind was broken so it was even brighter than it normally would have been. The room we were in was clean, but needed updated bad. The bathroom was very old with a tub that looked like it was from the 50's and needed a good cleaning. There were marks on the walls where paint and wallpaper needed to be replaced. We also had to turn the AC down to 64 in the front of the sitting room just to get the bed room and bathroom cool, so it was freezing in the front and warmer in the back. The staff was absolutely amazing and helpfull. Overall it was a wonderful stay, we just expected more for the price. Also, the rooms need wine glasses and microwaves (especially the larger suites)

Beautiful hotel with great service. If you get a room at the front, however, the patrons from the bar next door will keep you up.

No bathroom light, led strips around the trim of the room were flickering, two different color bulbs in ceiling lights, no microwave in room. No roof in bathroom. Not worth 300 a night

We love the Remington! We don’t love the area but it makes up for it once you get inside! The room was spacious, clean and quiet! The Remington is our go-to when coming to Bossier/Shreveport!

Property is nice, walkable and comfy beds. Downside is our room (212) had a AC unit above the bathtub in our room with ZERO insulation above it.= VERY loud and VERY cold. Thermostat set on 66 could not be adjusted :(

I love this hotel, so adorable. Rooms are themed and very well decorated. Honestly, my 1 complain would be that hallways are noisy when other guests come and go

Very awkward front desk staff in the evening. Walls in standard rooms are so thin I could hear people’s phone convos (even hear the person on the line) and everything on the tv. Property is beautiful and well maintained and the morning staff was wonderful. Mixed bag. Tough to accept some of those issues for the price.

Five stars aren't enough to express how much I enjoyed the Remington! The staff at the desk was very helpful and accommodating, even when showed up after 1am due to travel delays and issues. When the girl at the desk said the room was nice, it was an understatement. I've lived in apartments smaller than this suite! There is a living room, office area, bedroom, vanity room and bathroom. The bathroom had a shower stall and seperate jetted tub. It was everything i could want and need and then they threw in a heated toilet seat! My bum has never been so toasty! I almost forgot the best part. The beautiful old brick and wrought-iron building that houses the hotel. Definitely my new go to hotel in Shreveport.

Terrific little historic hotel with a lot of vintage charm. Right downtown -- walking distance to the river, nearby casinos, and (in our case) the Mudbug Madness Festival. The staff was particularly warm and inviting -- offering terrific local advise and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. This place should be on your radar screen when visiting Shreveport!

Not a fan of charging for parking. Would be much better to do away with valet and allow self parking (for free) in garage. If you’re going to valet, have a valet hired separately from front desk specifically for this job. It took hours to get the car pulled off the street and we had to go down and specifically ask. The place smelled nice, and had some fresh coats of paint. Decor choices were strange. Noticed rust/hard water deposit on tub. Faucet on tub was leaking. Also noted age of jacuzzi tub was decades old (could tell from controls). Not much going on in this city, so no dining options nearby outside of door dash on Sunday night. The bed was comfortable and the room was large. Also, entrance was not under awning. If the front desk lady had not stepped out, we would have had trouble finding which entrance to use.

My 5yo daughter and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Remingron while we were in town for Lainey Wilson concert. The rooms were unique, the facility was clean, and the staff was very pleasant, caring, and attentive. Valet option was great, considering I was the only person able to lug our luggage and park the car, but with valet, he helped me unload luggage and load it. That took a big burden off of me. They had a great variety of breakfast items available, too. I highly recommend staying here, i definitely would again.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. My only complaint would be that it seemed understaffed. There was only on person (very pleasant) that was bartending, manning the front desk, and handling valet parking. That definitely slows things down and keeps her a bit too busy to stay focused.

It was very unique in the fact the outside doors were locked with broken key pads and no one at the front desk. I had to find another room after that night while all my belongings were locked in my room here. They did refund me but I have never heard of anyone not being able to get into their hotel building. Multiple others were stuck outside as well. Awful

The Remington Suite Hotel lives up to it name of being a suite hotel. We had a very nice and spacious suite with a large bathroom, large bedroom and a large Livingroom with a refrigerator. Everything was very well appointed, It was very clean and centrally located one block from Texas Street and some of the casino hotels. The staff was very friendly. It also provided a nice complementary breakfast in the lobby area.

I had the best stay here while in town visiting my son at the BAFB. Every staff member was absolutely amazing. They were all friendly, helpful and went above and beyond for me. Definitely will be my go to place to stay for any future visits. The rooms were great and very clean with comfortable beds. Honestly though, the staff above everything, made this place amazing for me and for that I’m very grateful.

First, downtown Shreveport is in decline. What activity there is, ends at 5:00 pm as the city empties out. After you leave, keep an eye on your credit card statements. I booked and paid through a third party (Hotels.com). After I left the hotel charged my AMEX for additional taxes they claim were not included in my Hotels.com charges. Seems sketchy.

Very beautiful and decorated historic property. Wonderful staff, huge rooms, reasonably priced. Downtown Shreveport at night can be a safety issue.

Super nice staff. Very helpful. The hotel is very cool! So much history and very cool remodel. The area around was old and very basic. Very limited eating places. The streets were desolate. The eatery Blind tiger was open and great food. The staff was friendly. I recommend staying at the Remington. Very cool!

We were in town on a legal matter and the hotel was very close to the courthouse. That was a plus. It is a beautiful hotel. Breakfast was a bit skimpy. We had not been to Shreveport in several years. The downtown area has really died. Both within and outside of the casinos many restaurants were closed permanently or closed half of the week. It was a bit shocking.

Classic style boutique hotel with every room a different theme/decor! Staff is amazingly attentive and well versed on the area. The bar is well stocked and a fun spot to get to know fellow travelers. Nice pantry, too. Beats the cookie cutter chain hotels.

The hotel was very nice . I suggest microwaves in the rooms. Breakfast should be more than continental.

I wanted to experience downtown Shreveport. Staying at the Remington is the way to do it. The Hotel is hundred years old and just a joy. go back in time to the hey day of vintage Shreveport. The room was spaciious, well designed. and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was delicious. Thank you!

We loved our stay at The Remington Suite Hotel. The beds were very comfortable, the bar had plenty of drink choices, and our room was decorated perfectly!

The moment you step into the lobby you know a unique and terrific experience awaits. The suite was spacious, clean and comfy. Bathroom area was large. The manager, Jett, is engaging, knowledgeable and also tends bar!!! Great experience!

Nice, Friendly, very clean. Mixed between bed and breakfast and hotel. Hotel Boutique. It was great smelling bacon when I woke up. Just like mommas house.
