The details were very misleading. Very unsafe neighborhood. Can’t leave and go as you please as two gates have to be opened up by front desk person who was sleeping everything I wanted to leave. No bathroom. No AC. Would never recommend.

I was really disappointed with this hotel. My room was not much bigger than the bed, with a window the size of a small pizza box so it was very stuffy. The bed had only one sheet - no blanket - and the bedside lamp didn't work. The shared bathroom was dirty and had no soap. I partly chose this hotel because it claimed to have parking and a good breakfast. I arrived at night and there were no parking spaces left, so was instructed to drive to a parking garage -I had to walk 2 blocks back to the hotel by myself at night. The breakfast was meager - three tiny pieces of fruit and a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. I have never written a bad review, but I can't let this experience pass. I definitely do not recommend Casa Tago.

Decent stay right near the airport. They offer a good breakfast and late check in. The price is very reasonable. I had a basic room with a shared bath. Everything was clean. Beware there are many steps up/ down the hallway to/ from the bath. The pool is very small but ok for a quick jump to wake up or cool off.

Günstige Unterkunft in nähe des Flughafens. Praktisch zum Transfer, alles soweit in Ordnung. Sauberkeit könnte besser sein, Personal sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend. Soweit slles gut. Klimaanlage wäre eine gute Investition in dieser Gegend.

This property is very old. Rooms are outdated and a bit dusty under the bed. The bathroom is old and commode seat too big for the toilet. The staff is great, friendly and the breakfast options were very good. Nice touch of breakfast included. Very close to airport.

This was our 4th visit to Costa Rica. We love this country. Prevously our experiences with the hotels were always positive. However, this hotel was probably the worst one i ever stayed in. I only gave it 2 stars because the staff was friendly and helpful. Otherwise it was a disaster. The room smelled terrible and the windows wouldn't open. The neighborhood is unsafe to say the least. Our bathroom door somehow got locked from inside and we couldn't use it till morning In the morning a hotel employee came with a hammer and a huge knife and broke open the door. Overall, its shabby, dirty and uncomfortable. Would not recommend to anybody.

We stayed at Casa Tago on two occasions, when we flew into and out of SJO. Someone was on staff all hours. Check in and out was simple and quick. The lady working the night shift called a cab for us when we needed to leave at 3am. They provided a free breakfast which was a typical Costa Rican breakfast which was very tasty! The rooms are old and dated but clean and comfortable. Alejuela can be loud at night but seems to get quieter after 10pm.

We stayed 1 night at Casa Tago Hotel before continuing with out trip the next day. The host of the hotel was very helpful and provided valuable insights regarding which taxis to take from SJO airport and offered help in finding a suitable and reliable transportation for the rest of our trip. The rooms are not very spacious (no closet), but very tidy and are equipped with a wall-mounted fan (no a/c) and come with a private bathroom with a shower. The beds are cozy and have the right size for 2 adults.

Hotel pratique, proche aéroport. En revanche les chambres sont variables, la 1e nuit nous avons eu une chambre très petite (impossible d'ouvrir nos 2 valises ensemble, odeur désagréable dans la salle de bain), alors que la 1e fois nous avons eu une très grande chambre confortable, avec un 1 lit chacune (peut être parce que nous avions payé en cash cette fois-là...). Personnel arrangeant, notamment pour les petits déjeuners à prendre tôt le matin.
Hotel pratique, proche aéroport. En revanche les chambres sont variables, la 1e nuit nous avons eu une chambre très petite (impossible d'ouvrir nos 2 valises ensemble, odeur désagréable dans la salle de bain), alors que la 1e fois nous avons eu une très grande chambre confortable, avec un 1 lit chacune (peut être parce que nous avions payé en cash cette fois-là...). Personnel arrangeant, notamment pour les petits déjeuners à prendre tôt le matin.

Tried to email about a late check-in a day before the arrival, never received a message back. Then tried to call about a late check in after landing at the airport, but the phone number didn't work. A representative from the car rental company tried to call as well and had the same result. When we arrived at the location, there was no one there to check us in, and no private parking as was advertised. We ended up going to another hotel and were immediately checked in. Online, this location is listed as a retirement community, and not as a hotel. Overall, the experience was very confusing and awful. I hope they can figure it out. Very disappointing.

We flew into SJO at around 10:30pm and stayed here a night before heading out the next morning. It’s very close to the airport ($10 by taxi) and near rental car services. The pricing is great for the rooms and feel very safe and secure. In the morning we were served fresh fruit, eggs, and rice for breakfast. The 24hr front desk was very helpful. I would highly recommend staying here.

The staff was incredible--very accommodating and kind. They gave me advice about the area and what I wanted to do there. They were very knowledgeable and generous. We checked in very late since our plane arrived late, but the receptionist got up for us and was very kind!

We stayed at hotel Casa Tago the first night we arrived in Costa Rica. It is very close to the airport. The personnel was very nice, and the breakfast was very good.

We chose Hotel Casa Tago due to its proximity to the airport. The family who runs the hotel are very nice and the security seemed sound. The room was basic and fulfilled our needs for a night.

We stayed at Casa Tago on two occasions, when we flew into and out of SJO. Someone was on staff all hours. Check in and out was simple and quick. The lady working the night shift called a cab for us when we needed to leave at 3am. They provided a free breakfast which was a typical Costa Rican breakfast which was very tasty! The rooms are old and dated but clean and comfortable. Alejuela can be loud at night but seems to get quieter after 10pm.

I was really disappointed with this hotel. My room was not much bigger than the bed, with a window the size of a small pizza box so it was very stuffy. The bed had only one sheet - no blanket - and the bedside lamp didn't work. The shared bathroom was dirty and had no soap. I partly chose this hotel because it claimed to have parking and a good breakfast. I arrived at night and there were no parking spaces left, so was instructed to drive to a parking garage -I had to walk 2 blocks back to the hotel by myself at night. The breakfast was meager - three tiny pieces of fruit and a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. I have never written a bad review, but I can't let this experience pass. I definitely do not recommend Casa Tago.

Really close to the airport and public transportation. We stayed only one night. The staff was very hospitable and made us feel welcome. Breakfast was yummy. We had a shared restroom which was only shared with 2-3 other rooms. It was really clean. The room does not have AC but the fan in the room works wonders. Overall I would recommend this location if you are only in San Jose for a short amount of time and don’t want to stay in the city center.
