This Property was Amazing! The hot tubs in the apartment were very nice to have with the cool climate, the fishing posd was very fun with nice sized trout. Feeding the animals, this is a must to get a close look at Sloth, hummingbirds, and Tucans. The outside hot tubs were very unique and in Very Beautiful spots! The only part that I didnt care the most for personally, was the dinner. Going to different countries, I love to have the local cuisines, the dinner was an expensive meal, it was good, but i just like local foods. I would still give what they had a 5 star rating, the waiters were attentive, and the food was out in a Very timely manner!

This was our second time at the Peace Lodge and we loved it just as much as the first time. The lodge is beautiful and the rooms are incredible. Hot tub on the balcony? Yes please! Each and every staff member went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Special thanks to Pablo, Michael, Daniel and Jose who went above and beyond to make us happy. We could not have had a better experience. The area is breathtaking and the weather, while unpredictable, was a nice break from the heat of Florida. We brought our two kids (10 and 13) and they enjoyed the animal sanctuary many times. We visited the animals every day, hiked to the waterfalls, and even arranged to visit the Poas volcano with a private tour guide. The food was amazing and beautifully plated each time. If you can, catch a trout in the pond and they will cook it for you right there and then! Please take advantage of the animal tours, the restaurants and even the gift shop. We can't wait to come back and see our "friends."

Loved the warm welcome drink and hospitality. The grounds are beautiful and our room was over the top with all natural wood and stone decor. Our surname posted on the front door was a nice personalized touch! We loved the balcony hammock and jacuzzi tub, fireplace, and bathroom waterfall! Access to La Paz Waterfall Gardens for a huge aviary, exotic wildlife and gorgeous waterfalls. The property is terraced on a hill so lots of stairs.

We stayed for a night at this beautiful resort on our drive from La Fortuna to Manuel Antonio. The room includes access to the park and for a small price you can add on a night tour of the frogs and can also feed the toucans and sloths (both rescued) and wild humming birds on the property. The water fall hike and other animals on the property were great. The room was amazing with two jacuzzi tubs, one on the balcony with a great view overlooking the park and the other in suite with its own water fall. The restaurants at the resort were delicous with great service. Will definitely be back for a few nights next time we are in Costa Rica.

The Peace Lodge is a beautiful resort with the unique experience of having the wildlife within reach. Tours are offered through the resort to ensure safety and peace of mind when you leave the resort. The rooms are gorgeous and the La Paz Waterfall Gardens are easily accessible from the resort. Staying at Peace Lodge is an experience.

Animal sanctuary is good experience. Many pretty trails around the property.

Exceeded our expectations. Literally felt like a private resort with no one on the waterfall trails and even the gardens were sparsely populated after they closed to the general public. We plan to come back without the kids in the near future.

Uniqe and special in every aspect. Lush green all around with rain forest flowers and plants, relax at the hot pool and jacuozy...and the room is the best full of character... and

The property is very quiet and clean.

Great location, excellent staff. Property and rooms are clean, but vibe is totally 1970s. Needs to be updated. Also, animal wildlife sanctuary reminded us of '70s zoo. Enclosures are too small for larger, pacing animals. They need to update entire property, especially for the poor animals.

Overall, the property is very well maintained except for the Falls Trail. All the other trails are well marked and provide excellent views of the forest and waterfalls. The staff are exceptional and assure that that all your needs are met. We were traveling with our 90-year old mother & they provided a golf club to transport her up & down the hill when we needed it. Food was excellent and the servers were very attentive . We loved our room and really enjoyed the views, the hot hot tub on the deck as well as the in room amenities. We will highly recommend this lodge to all our friends traveling to Costa Rica.

This is a very clean and nice property. The level of service and amenities does not match the price. We have stayed at places in Costa Rica that are nicer and better attention to detail but for much less money. You would think that breakfast should be included at the very minimum. Bring your own water to drink they charge $4.50 for a 20 ounce bottle. We would recommend the La Paz Waterfall Gardens as a day trip but find other lodging nearby if you are price conscious. Also, there are lots of steps no matter what part of the property you are going to. If you are not able to do up and down stairways very well then do not stay here. Good experience overall. Too pricey.

I absolutely love this place! This is my second time staying here. This time I brought my family. And although the room was not as grand as the room I had the first time two years ago, my family was still very wowed by it. The bed is the most comfortable bed I think I have ever been in. The pest control is amazing to not have any bugs in our room in spite of being out in the middle of nature. The walking trail to the waterfalls is amazing. The waterfalls are breathtaking. The property is awesome with so much to see and do. I highly recommend this property and plan to come back again with my other nephew within the year.

The room was great and you have an incredible staff. Everyone was very nice. We enjoyed the restaurants and the service and food were excellent.

What a great place to stay in Costa Rica. The staff is outstanding and helpful in every single way. The room was excellent, comfortable beds, beautiful bathroom, and a front Lanai that is unbelievable.

The Peace Lodge is an incredible property. The rooms are like nothing you’ve ever seen - the design and thought put into the construction is beyond compare. It’s like something designed by Gaudi. We stayed two nights and enjoyed all of the animals, the waterfalls, the beautiful pools and hot tubs, and our room. The bathrooms are awe inspiring. My only small criticism is the beds, although beautiful, are on the stiffer side. May be common in Costa Rica though.

The Peace Lodge is such a wonderful place to stay. I absolutely love everything about the room, bathroom and the outside balcony. The La Paz waterfall reserve is a great place to explore. This is my go to spot everytime I come to Costa Rica.

What a beautiful place to stay and enjoy all the best things Costa Rica has to offer. Our room was amazing with a hot tub on our back porch overlooking the rainforest and volcano. The bed was very comfortable and we loved the fireplace. I’ve never seen such a wonderful bathroom with waterfall off the wall, rain shower and hot tub. Having animals and amazing waterfalls on the property was icing on the cake. We we wowed our entire time at this resort.

We loved everything about this property. Every single person we came in contact with that worked there was so polite and helpful, one of the best experiences we have ever had.

What a great place to stay in Costa Rica. The staff is outstanding and helpful in every single way. The room was excellent, comfortable beds, beautiful bathroom, and a front Lanai that is unbelievable.

Staff was super friendly and attentive. Rusty the dog was so sweet. Property is great for children with the pool and animals, but there are a lot of stairs when walking and exploring. I’m not sure it would work for everyone. We got in late after the restaurant was closed, so they had sandwiches and fruit prepared in our room without us even asking. It was the little touches for us. We loved it here! Highly recommend.

Special thanks to Byron and Brayan, our servers at the restaurants who were not only extremely knowledgeable about everything Costa Rica but also provided exceptional service, going above and beyond to accommodate every request. The service was so personal it felt like we were part of their family. We were greeted by friendly staff who immediately took our bags while we checked in. We received private tours to the volcano and waterfalls which are amazing. We got to see and feed some amazing animals. The guides are very knowledgeable and friendly. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The views from the room are breathtaking. The lodge is pricey but worth every bit of it. The food the atmosphere all the activities that they offer make this lodge a one of a kind. We spent two weeks and traveled from the Caribbean to the pacific and this was our most favorite place. Would definitely come back

Outstanding property. Staff is exceptionally friendly. Jose at the Big Trout Pool is an absolute all-star and just a genuinely amazing and friendly person. It’s a wonderful place to spend your first few days in Costa Rica before exploring other destinations. If breakfast were to be included in the room rate it would be even better. Food is a little bit expensive.

We stayed here for only two nights for my birthday, as we wanted to splurge a bit. This is a gorgeous, very well manicured 5-star resort. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a higher level room for my birthday, so that front desk staff knew how to make an impression. The room was crazy amazing fabulous. Look at their website pics as they are very accurate. Expedia includes two tours when booking, so we got a fabulous night frog tour, and a half-day personalized tour of their wildlife sanctuary - Guide MICHAEL WAS AWESOME. We also participated in the butterfly release, which we will remember forever! The downside was the dinner restaurant (only one). The menu was super Americanized, and they were out of the one local fish! The first night took forever to get served, and they brought our appetizer, salad, and main dish all at once. The second night was my birthday, and although the server offered me a free dessert for my birthday, when they brought it, there was no candle, no offer to sing, no extra decoration on the plate, and no wishing me a happy birthday. I'm a little surprised by this as it was contrary to the front desk staff. Hey, Lee Banks, please train your restaurant staff to make a bigger deal of of birthdays. Also, put some more Costa Rican items on the menu! The food was VERY good for both breakfast (not included) and dinner, and beautifully plated. If you don't mind the price, don't miss this beautiful property, and ask for Michael as your guide!

A beautiful property with everything you could possibly want. Comfortable room with a fabulous view, we were only there for one night, the breakfast was delicious. Access to the La Paz Gardens and Waterfalls was a plus, take the time to explore the property. Just a short drive to POAS National Park. Be sure to go early as the clouds build very early in the day, By 9:30 the Volcano was socked in. We were there in the rainy season - taking a raincoat everywhere you go is a must.

Vivre dans la nature , les jardins sont magnifiques et bien entretenus. Pour les amoureux des oiseaux c’est un endroit merveilleux. L’accès aux chutes est facile et il y a un shuttle pour nous ramener au lodge. Pas besoin de remonter toutes les marches !!! Température fraiche prévoir une petite laine. Le seul bémol….. on est toujours dans les escaliers donc si problèmes de genoux ou cardiaques … ouf C’est un endroit pour se reposer. Très beau séjour!

I always love staying at this property. It is a paradise dream and I love waking up to the birds saluting the rising Sun. This is my third time staying here at this property. This round I brought my 6 year old nephew who completely loved the animals and the waterfall trails and everything. I always recommend this property to everyone who is planning a visit to Costa Rica.

It was so peaceful. We got the upgrade with tub in room and balcony. I told them it was our anniversary and they gave us complementary chocolate strawberries, and wine. It was so sweet. The staff was friendly and nice. We really enjoyed our stay. It’s little steps to get to room and stuff but nice lol. You can’t beat the view. It’s about a 50 min drive to city but a nice scene of driving there. I would definitely stay there again. Loved it.

The resort dog Rusty was very friendly and a welcome sight. The menus were on the expensive side and some more affordable options would be welcome, but the quality of the food was excellent.

The property is gorgeous and lush with beautiful views and so much to do! There are nature trails, waterfalls, and it is one of the loveliest places to stay in Costa Rica.

The Peace Lodge is a unique experience unlike traditional hotel resorts. Sitting high on the mountain (volcano in the near distance) among the clouds with beautiful grounds, waterfall hikes and access to native animal and bird experiences. Very nature based and eco friendly. Staff was exceptional. Very quiet and peaceful.
