Avonbridge Hotel

Generally was a very good welcoming place. Only criticisms are Having seen I was mobility impaired with a large case, no assistance was offered to locate my room and assist with my case. It would have been nice if some assistance had been offered. The bar and restaurant on site were very nice, however only offering the bar menu of pizza and burgers for dinner 2 nights of the week was not very welcome. More choice should be available if a 7 day a week restaurant.

Nice and comfy apartment however Wi-Fi provided the worst ever. Also, less modern technology employed in its facilities such as no elevators and key card.

Comfortable stay, lovely breakfast. Dated interior but nice. The hotel comprises three different buildings next to each other. The location marked on Hotels.com is wrong, leading us to some residential house on the same road and that confused us. Otherwise checking in and out is easy and receptionists are sweat.

Nice place to stay with ample parking and friendly staff

Every single member of staff, from reception to restaurant to lounge bar and pizza bar were so welcoming, polite and friendly. Couldn’t do enough but in just the right way. Food is incredibly delicious, wine list excellent! I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. ( They even let me play the piano until late in the lounge bar). Big Italian influence for obvious reasons and it really almost feels like you’re in Italy at times.

The hotel is well presented & clean, checkn in was very quick & the receptionist ( Hana ) was very helpful. The restaurant was clean, service impeccable and the food excellent (I highly recommend the fajita). I will definitely stay here again next time I'm working in Glasgow (only a 20 minute drive)

In main building smaller rooms although ok . No problems restaurant shut at 8.15 one night supposed to be 8.45 as I was working late and had to get a takeaway as it was shut . No a buggy.

It was friendly, comfortable and easy to park the car there.

No lift so difficult for people with walking issues

Business manager travelling from Yorkshire to Glasgow and stayed here for one night only, lovely staff, clean room i had a twin Executive room comfy bed, plenty off hot water , tea and coffee facilities, clean towels. I decided to eat in the restaurant as England was playing ,the staff where very attentive i had the steak pie and veg absolutely beautiful meal. Definitely stay here again

Very good location. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Room was nice, but the stink of stale body odor was really bad. Told them at front desk. They sent housekeeping along to the room. Apparently they sprayed airfreshner, but room wasstill stinking. We couldn't even open a window. Everything else was fine though.

Room not serviced. Old towels on floor in bedroom. No other room available. Helpful lady at reception did deal with it herself.

Kind helpful staff. Room ok, though a smell of carbolic soap pervades the hotel, which doesn't quite mask a stale smell - do they air the rooms? Breakfast was good

Friendly staff, bedroom clean, but bath plug hole full of hair and over flow had tape all around it and bath side coming away

Heard really positive things about this property but sadly was disappointed. Cobwebs all over the room, bathroom was dirty and run down. Kettle was disgusting and stale water in it.

Rooms were very dated and tired. Mould in shower. Breakast was a disaster as they ran out of plates and food. Creaky floorboards and paper thin walls.

Arrived late and the restaurant manager managed to persuade the chef to still serve me and the meal was superb. Room was very warm, couldn’t open the window due to noise from outside and no fans available

No internet first night. Reported it twice but no better. Received complimentary glass of wine. Second night no internet had to pay 4.95 for access through bt hotspot. Pretty poor in my opinion. I need internet to work. Had dinner but limited menu as there was a lot of guests. It’s was explained that it had been busy. Yes so had I been. Wong bother with this hotel in future

Room given not room type reserved, told that all the rooms the same despite the website showing differently. Shower didn't work until it was hit, No fan and room was very hot, paper thin walls, it felt like people were coming into the room when walking past in the corridor. Overall a run down, tired hotel.

We had 2 rooms. Checkin was fast and painless, with reception staff being polite and helpful. Breakfast was lovely, great simple selection of cooked foods which was replenished regularly. Our room was in the main hotel which was clean albeit a bit dated. The main downfall for me was the bed, it was definitely in need of a new mattress, springs sticking in my sides made it an uncomfortable sleep for me. We would stay again

Was staying on my own for 1 night. Only paid about £70 with breakfast. Ended up with the regal suite in the annex building. Well impressed. 4 poster bed (wasted on just me) jacuzzi bath, log fire’ iron and board, robes. Fantastic for the price.

Nice convenient hotel with good parking Lovely staff, dinner was great, good choice and quality at breakfast Rooms clean but in need of updating Absolutely no sound proofing, could hear a neighbouring tv all night, and footsteps above. A pity

Room was very clean but very dated. At front of hotel and could hear traffic all night. Blind was white so street lighting shining through also a black out blind would be better. Bed was very soft but my husband convinced it was a water bed kept sinking in the middle of it. The breakfast was excellent. A fair price.

We were put in room 10 on the ground floor, room was clean enough though dated. Bed was lumpy and the room obviously had water tank behind the wardrobe as all night long you heard the water running every time a tap was turned on or toilet flushed couldn’t wait to get home for a decent sleep.

Decent hotel. Room cleaned and topped up daily. Good sized room and toilet . Only complaint was the bed was as hard as a brick. Needs new mattresses.

TRYING TO FIND A SEAT, HOT BREAKFAST WOULD BE NICE!! AND COFFEE WAS DISGUSTING. THE LIST CAN GO ON. THE ONE GOOD THING IS THE STAFF, THEY WERE LOVELY AND HELPFUL

A very good and well priced hotel with good facilities and real customer-facing staff - marketing speak for lovely friendly staff who to a fault were genuinely keen to please. Even the chef found me some black pudding for breakfast when I enquired why it wasn’t on the menu of a Scottish hotel. A highly recommended hotel for the Hamilton/Glasgow area, or overnight stop on the A474(M)

A good middle of the road Hotel with good facilities. Favoured by coach companies as a base for their clients, currently a coach full of guests who are going to the Edinburgh Tattoo, a distance of almost 50 miles away. Breakfast service was a bit chaotic with only two servers in the Dining Room and all tables taken. If you are unfortunate to be in residence with a coach party be prepared for a wee bit of upset, otherwise a good middle of the road established hotel. Only 20 minutes by car from Glasgow.

The overall all experience was very good checked in quickly.I decided to have an evening meal there and the choice on the menu was very good my meal was delivered quickly and was piping hot,the buffet breakfast was excellent .

Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable rooms. Good food. All round good service.

We stayed here for 3 nights on an away from the kids couple of days "date days". The hotel location is a great alternative to staying in the bigger cities, and an easy drive to both Edinburgh and Glasgow. The room we booked was a standard double. It was okay, the bed seemed smaller than a usual double but this could be because we are used to a bigger bed at home, the room itself was cosy, with a desk and set of drawers. There wasn't much wardrobe space but it was nice to find we had a trouser press in the wardrobe along with the iron and ironing board. During the 3 night stay we feel the room was only fully serviced with fresh towels, refills of tea and coffee and bins emptied on the first morning. After the second night we returned to the room to find damp towels on the bed, the bathroom bin hadn't been emptied and the tea and coffee station not refilled. This being said for the price we paid we would consider staying again maybe in a slightly bigger room. Breakfast was included in our booking, which consisted of a buffet breakfast. There could have been more option on the breakfast, fruit teas, more fruit options things of this nature. For the purpose of our stay which was mainly just somewhere to put our head down each night the room served its purpose.

The only issue was the breakfast buffet. Many items had run out and were not promptly replenished. Otherwise no problems.

We have stayed here before and enjoyed it the only problem was that they put a set menu on at the night which was £45 pp which we thought was overpriced because it was a small menu with limited offers and not worth the money
