Depe Dene Lakeside Resort

Had a great stay with the family- the lake is gorgeous- just wished the pool was a bit more heated as it stated on website and there was more paddle boards. But the villa was cozy and comfortable and staff was great.

It had multiple options for outdoor activities. Tennis, swimming, kayaking , volleyball, badmitten, ping pong tables. The staff was very friendly

Service was great! Bed was the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on in a hotel! The resort has great recreational amenities including a nice heated pool, private beach and lots of other things I didn’t get to use. They have done a good job of updating the buildings and rooms are very clean and comfortable. I will be back!

Great place, quiet and secluded with beautiful views, and a short drive away from town. There's a restaurant right at the top of the driveway so you don't have to go too far for food if you don't like. The pool and rentable boats are great additional features. Rooms are extremely well-kept, nicely updated, and air-conditioned.

Staff was all very Friendly! Very nice place amazing pool! The lake however is down a very steep road and we where at the very top. If you dont have a golf cart the walk is a work out. It was nice that the pool was at the top and outside and heated.

Did not see where the pool is if they have any. The playground was dirty.

Depe Dene has become the main place that we stay when we visit the lake. It’s not fancy, but offers everything that we would need and is always clean. We appreciate the amenities that the resort offers and the ease of knowing we can find a place with plenty of space to comfortably sleep our family of 6.

Beautiful lakefront property. Kitchen is fully stocked and very clean. Beds were comfy. Parking right by residence. Beach within 100 ft. Lots of water activities to do at the resort (some at extra charge ie kayak and paddle boarding, but better price than others). Family friendly.

The cabins are large and have great views of the lake. We stayed in a 2 bed 1 bath cabin with a full kitchen, dining area, living room and a large deck with great views of the lake. It is a waterfront property and has a small but very clean beach and a place where you can rent kayaks. The property also has a nice pool but although the pool was clean and heated, it needed a facelift. Some tiles had fallen off and there were cracks in the coping. Otherwise, the property is in a good location and you can park right outside each cabin which is very convenient. On the whole, it was a great experience.

Cleanliness was okay inside, cobwebs on the porch though. Hot water at times would stop, not a huge deal if going in the summer. Whole property needs more maintenance. Wifi a little iffy at times. On the bright side, beautiful lake views, nice stretch of beach next to the lake and a nice pool. Staff was good and friendly. Really, 2-3 stars. If your looking for a high end stay, not the place. If you just want to be lakeside with views and lake access and not expecting too much, I would recommend.

Very clean, comfortable, and attractive lakeside lodging facility. Great lake views and access. Kitchenette had updated appliances. Air conditioning and wifi worked very well. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Parking was easy although the access drive could use some attention. Although the bedroom had light-reducing blinds, it would have benefited from blackout curtains. The kitchen facilities included large dinner plates, large glasses, silverware, and pots and pans, but we would also have liked smaller salad plates, juice glasses, and pot holders.

Resort is very old and aged. Holes on outside of our bungalow, soft sagging floors, deck filled with mildew and slippery when wet. Front door does seal and light shines thru side. Bedrooms are so small you can not walk around the bed. The couch is old and worn and you sink into it. The blinds are bent. I could go on and on, the resort needs a major overhaul. Shame on them for charging the prices that they did for the car show weekend, but they obviously knew that rooms were in high demand. I complained to the front desk twice one mentioned there was a new owner after the prior owner died and she would relay my disappointment.

Wonderful - nice stay and very clean.

Room was simply not clean. Previous guest's fake eyelashes and wads of hair were in the shower. Dust caked on the blinds. Room looked very little like the photos and is long overdue for renovations... I would be more okay with this room at a lower price point, but the room was priced as a higher end hotel in this class. I don't know where these other great reviews are coming from. This was badly disappointing.

Everything on website description was accurate. Came up with family for a couple of days. Our rental was spotless clean, beds we’re comfortable, fantastic staff and whatever we needed they supplied right away. Short walk to clean beach by the lake with plenty to do. We loved everything about Depe Dene. Thanks again for a fantastic stay! Will be back. A

We didnt plan to stay more than one night here but loved the reaort so much we booked two additional nights. Staff were friendly and accomodating, rooms were clean and beds were very comfy. The location was beautiful with views of the lake and easily accessible to many of the local attractions we visited. Would definitely recommend to friends & family and will stay again if ever back in the area.

Sticky floor and table .Flies…Flies….Flies! Would have liked more attention to overall appeal. Clean beds and roomy but upgrade on visuals needed. Clean entrance and overall attention to maintenance. Security issues: no bolt locks on doors. All windows difficult to lock. A little far from downtown and longer to outlets. Sorry but enjoyed our stay nevertheless!

Property needs to be updated and there was diarrhea under the toulet seat upon checking into the room.

The customer service was awesome. However, the whole apartment had on air conditioner in the living room. The bed rooms got really hot.

We had a good and short stay. We were happy with the place, our bed was comportable, and the lake view was amazing. We didn’t have the best night sleep due to the guests in the chalet connect to ours were noisy and up late. The walls seem to be very thin. Other than that we enjoyed ourselves.

Young man at the front desk was wonderful. The property is huge with multiple stay options- rooms, cabins and villas. Nice private beach right on the lake. Had a 1 bedroom suite, super comfy beds/pillows. Cons: People stomping up and down wood stairs at 6am right behind your head. Wifi super spotty/in and out constantly. Top of the fridge had a layer of dust. Cabinets/drawers were sticky where you grab to open them (no handles) The suite had NO hot water. Smallest TV imaginable, a Roku with no way to set it to watch regular cable. Either free Roku shows (limited) or you could sign into your Netflix. Didn’t care to do that. Very precarious driving on tiny roads that were more like footpaths with multiple potholes. But you’re on the lake I get it. I had to park UNDER a building. AC is only in the kitchen/sitting room, it does not reach the bedroom. Made a trip to Walmart for a fan but the one I bought barely blew air. Called the desk and asked if a fan was available. The young man said yes but he was not able to leave the desk so can I come get it. Sure! Get back in the car under a building with zero light. Drive (in the dark) precariously slanted steep tiny paths back to the lobby (the suite is only accessible from a road that is PAST the venue and after a restaurant) only to find the fan was a huge tower that I couldn’t carry. Ended up he brought it to the room, it was a huge help. Uneven stone steps to the suite. If you have problems walking this isn’t the place for you

Our room balcony overlooked Lake George. There were tables and chairs, but no umbrellas, and it was very hot on the cement balcony. Room was nothing fancy, but it was spotless. Unfortunately the room I booked had too many stairs to get to it, so we took a room at ground level. The property is lovely, however, it is a very steep incline, so you need to be fit to walk around. All in all, a lovely getaway directly on Lake George.

We picked a lake view location which was room 28. The view was beautiful; however, the outdoor patio was not private. We did not have curtains so anyone that was on the patio could look into our room on the sides of the blinds. The room felt warm to us even tho the thermostat on the a/c unit was 68. All this being said, it was only a 1 night stay for us so it was doable. If you want the convenience of shops and restaurants, this is out of the way for that. There’s 1 restaurant on property.

Ben the receptionist was very nice and helpful and I like with the staff are smiling :). We like a private beach and many sport available. Nice pool. Great for family.

Me and my friends had a terrible experience there. Air conditioning smelled like never was cleaned. Our parking spot was taken by only God knows who and we had to deal with it, go to bed very late and were not even given an apology for the inconvenience nor any partial refund for something we paid for but had to leave the car for one night somewhere else because our spot was taken. Staff was rude except the nice Romanian guys that helped us with the parking situation, rest of the staff was rude, especially the girl at the front desk office that was very condescending with her tone. Our next door neighbors came into our room by mistake, that was outrageous plus then they were not minding their own business and paying attention to our conversations and making racist comments about us since we are not born in the States. Will never come back here nor do I recommend the place. Expensive and trashy

The property is under new ownership!! When reading old reviews keep that in mind. The beds are all brand new and they have changed the carpeting. We stayed for a week and had an amazing experience. The grounds are well maintained and the pool was very clean. The staff is friendly and so attentive. We have been coming to this resort for over 15 years and it’s in the best shape. The grounds are beautiful, multiple activities to keep the kids busy all day long.

Our stay was INCREDIBLE. Riley the front desk attendant when above and beyond to make our trip perfect. 10/10 highly recommend we will be back !!!!

Excellent service and great staff

Great stay. Beautiful property with direct access to the lake and amazing views of the mountains. The staff is very friendly and very efficient in the check in and check out process, all the relevant information was provided in a timely and detailed manner. The cabin itself is very spacious and cozy with two rooms that could fit a small family, it has a small kitchen with almost everything you need to make your stay even more enjoyable (though they could benefit from placing a few wine glasses besides the cups and plates they already have). We did have some issue with the coffee maker as it would turn on but not get hot, nothing major. The tv has cable but is was a hassle to access any streaming services, could benefit from replacing it with a smart tv so that guests can log in into their own accounts if needed. Overall the property met our expectations and we would definitely stay here again once we’re back in Lake George. Thanks.

Friendly staff, easy to get to, great views!

I am extremely pleased especially with service from Ben via email communication. I needed early check in and he accommodated at the time he said he will try his best when check in was at 4pm. Then I called front desk before leaving the night before and asked for late check out because of the bad storm. Unfortunately the girl on the phone said it’s not available and that was all. I emailed Ben and right away he said he can do another hour until 11am. The place was also very clean and perfect location with parking. The pool outdoor was a bit unsanitary so that can be better the water was dirty and didn’t feel clean.

Love the atmosphere. Staff was very friendly. Our room was large and spotless, bathroom could use a little updating but fully functional. The beach and pool area were great. Less than 10 minutes into town, which has plenty to do. We have already started planning our next trip back

This property right on Lake George has seen better days, but we enjoyed our stay nonetheless. I would not recommend it for anybody with mobility issues, as it was rather difficult to get from the area that we parked to the actual room. The views were lovely, and it was a nice place to stay for one night on our road trip.

Close proximity to Lake George village, the price was excellent as well as the beds. Great view of the Lake. The rooms need some upkeep, but they are clean, and the beds were firm and the pillows were excellent. I would stay here again.

The office was tricky to find, but once we got there the process was simple and the folks were very nice. The room was adequate (clean, not fancy) and there is a good breakfast restaurant on the edge of the property.

Great staff. Very accomodating. Albeit it was a dreary foggy day on the lake, the place was magical. Walking the grounds, especially along the decking on the waters edge under the pines that defied gravity. Location was prime with a deli across the street and horse backing riding to boot.
