The staff was so accommodating and helpful including the concierge, Mari. The room was clean and pretty with delicious bed, pillows and comforter. The shower was great and the towels were super fluffy. We enjoyed the beautiful gym and ate at both restaurants which were excellent. Hotel is located walking distance to lots but kind of a busy commercial location. But we loved the Kimpton.

The hotel is top flight. Any aspect considered, they were effective in presentation and execution: a clean room, English speaking and well-mannered staff, a proper breakfast menu, and of all things, a rooftop bar. I really should stay at this property again if I visit Tokyo in the future.

Great rooms with lots of amenities (welcome brownies, coffee, tea, minibar, slippers, robes, umbrella, etc). Bicycles are available through front desk. Hospitality hour is held nightly with wine, sangria, sake with appetizers. The concierge was extremely helpful. The hotel is about a 9 minute walk from Shinjuku station. Overall, it was a wonderful stay!

I was traveling with friends so contacted the hotel and asked for adjoining rooms. Kimpton said they would try to accommodate the request however, when I checked in, they said they couldn’t give us adjoining rooms because we booked the rooms on different floors- they could have told me that when I made the request instead of misleading me. During checked in, the front desk tried to upsell a substantially more expensive room and was very persistent when I declined numerous times. Sheets had stains and the housekeeping was substandard. They wouldn’t remove trash from the room. During breakfast (which was included with the room), I had to ask for water and chopsticks several times. The waitress was rude and kept saying “they’re coming” but I never received them.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights. The room was immaculate every single time it was cleaned. Always gave us fresh clean new slippers, night gown. Always filled up coffee bar along with a large water bottle every time our room was cleaned. The staff here were very kind and helpful. From the check in to the restaurant and any other staff members. Thank you for the beautiful memories in Japan.

Had a great 2-night stay in a King bedroom suite. Room was lovely and well kept and was so happy to see extra towels (something I noticed most Tokyo hotels are sparing with). Loved the breakfast, but should be noted, this is quite a walk from central Shinjuku. There’s not much in the neigjborhood within a 10min walk… So be prepared to take cabs/ubers as I noticed most other guests doing so as well. Team was super helpful, allowing me late checkout as I had an evening international flight.

I stayed at the Kimpton for two nights at the end of a two week solo holiday in Japan. This was a bit of a splurge after staying at all Japanese based hotels for the trip. I used to stay at Kimptons frequently when I was a work traveler in the past but had not stayed in one overseas. This is, by far, the best Kimpton I've ever stayed in. 1) Service is impeccable and the staff is well trained, friendly and helpful. As a solo traveler, I so appreciated the time each staff person took to ask me about my holiday and where I was from. To be clear, I opened the door to these conversations, I imagine they are well trained to also know when someone wants to be left alone. 2) I booked a King Essential room. I had a corner room on the 9th floor with panoramic views. The room has automated black out shades and diffusing shades. The bed was very comfortable (firm but soft top) and the bedding made me want to stay in bed all day and stare out at the view. 3) Complementary morning drinks and wine reception in the evening on the 16th floor. Great view and a fun place to chat if traveling solo. 4) Easy walk to Shinjuku Station with both high end dining and wonderful casual, local places for sushi, ramen, gyoza and takoyaki. 4) Worth mentioning again: the staff is wonderful. I will stay here again on my next visit to Japan.

This was our first stay at a Kimpton property and we were underwhelmed. We had a corner suite, which was slick and modern with beautiful views of the city. But we just didn’t feel welcome there. The lobby is tiny and check-in felt rushed and robotic. The “rooftop bar” that is lauded in their literature is equally tiny. When we needed a taxi, there was usually no one around to organize it. And when there was someone outside at valet, we were completely ignored. In fact, one time the valet processed the delivery of a package right in front of us for five minutes, ignoring us until we got between him and the package. For $1000 a night, we expected more. Especially after staying at Dusit Thani Kyoto beforehand (which was exceptional).

I didn’t care for our stay at this hotel and even considered leaving after the first night. Our original room was barely big enough for two people to turn around in, and when we went to the front desk for an upgrade, the staff was rude and refused to honor the price for it shown online. Instead, they offered a rate ten times as much and said they were doing us favor in discounting their usual rate. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel, far below the standard expected for the high prices. I booked a room three levels above standard on a high floor, only to find a terrible view of a lit advertisement across the street that stayed on all night. After requesting a room change, I was moved the next day—an inconvenience requiring me to repack—only to end up with a room facing a tower just 5 meters away, leaving me with zero privacy. Meanwhile, my friend in a standard room had a clear, unobstructed view. Management attempted to help but offered no resolution or compensation. The staff was incredible and very personable. They helped us book an incredible dinner and helped with every question we had. The hotel is beautiful and an easy 10 min walk from the train station. Not much directly around the hotel, but with a short walk or easy taxi's, can access everything. Very happy with our stay.

This is a very nice, newer hotel with friendly, helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay here. The only thing that could've been better is if it were closer to a train stop. From Haneda Airport, we took the Limousine Bus which dropped us off at the nearby Washington Hotel and we walked about 5 minutes to the Kimpton. Otherwise it's about a 15 minute walk to the Shinjuku Station.

Great hotel in a lively part of Tokyo. At a good distance from Shinjuku station but not too close that you are around the crowds and noise. The staff was helpful and kind. Rooms were comfortable. We appreciated the firmness of the pillows. The ambient light was better than some hotels that have too many small lights that hinders light sleepers. Great location if you want to visit the observation decks at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Really nice hotel. Splurge for the breakfast at the hotel. Food is wonderful and the staff delightful.

I had a wonderful stay at the Kimpton! It’s in a great location in Shinjuku; about a 15 minute walk from Shinjuku station. The hotel is very nice and modern. The rooms are spacious. Amenities like the social hour and free latte in the morning were nice. Service was great and staff very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend!

Excellent concierge, restaurant staff, reception at checkin who effortlessly helped with all queries and problems. Upon arrival I had damaged currency I urgently needed to replace and even though I arrived before official checkin the concierge service arranged a taxi, called a bank and translated on my behalf. Rooms were exceptionally clean, good size, with all amenities. And even though the hotel is on a busy road near Shinjuku the corner is relatively quiet. Restaurant staff were attentive and the menu and portions for main meals were generous. Various convenience stores are nearby, and actually the location is close to Tochomae station (if you want a quieter station), as well as Shinjuku. The only tiny negative was that the room service menu didn't have enough vegetarian options. I highly recommend this hotel and if I return to Tokyo will book it again.

The Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo is top notch! The staff really pride themselves on a high quality of service. Definitely book the breakfast option - you won’t regret it! So many tasty Japanese and Western options. Loved the nightly social hour. We caught up with other travelers and compared notes on what to do around Tokyo. Our room was well appointed and had loads of natural light. The hotel is located in a great spot. Super easy to walk to Shinjuku station and get anywhere you need in Tokyo. We will for sure stay at the Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo on future trips!

Wow! I can’t say enough amazing things about this hotel. First, the property is absolutely charming, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the room was super comfortable. The breakfast was phenomenal—not your typical hotel buffet. You order several different breakfast courses from a menu in the most adorable restaurant, making every morning a perfect start! One night, I headed up to the rooftop bar, where I enjoyed a delicious fresh fruit cocktail on the patio, taking in the breathtaking views of Tokyo’s skyline and city lights. They also offer a cute cocktail hour that I only got to attend once, but I wish I’d gone more often. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. One thing I didn’t realize when booking was that it’s about a 20-minute walk from the heart of Shinjuku, which turned out to be a blessing. It’s close enough to enjoy the energy of the area or catch a train, but far enough for some peace and quiet around the hotel

Beautiful hotel which is central to many great walking areas. The experience was absolutely 5 star. The staff are polite, accommodating and attentive. The breakfast was outstanding and the servers first class. When asking for a coffee refill it came each time in a clean cup, freshly brewed as the lead server said. All the details matter. We also had outstanding service from Alex the Concierge. Simply it was a perfect experience.
