Booked this with the intent on using the bicycles and hot tub advertised; we arrived on the island not having a car, so wanted to use the bikes but were alerted that they ‘weren’t out of winter storage yet’ (this was the 1st week of April)—unfortunate as we then needed to rent 2 bikes at $140/day. The hot tub evidently was for the use of another unit. Other than those two debacles, the place was charming, attentive staff and the breakfasts were nice. Great location, everything in Friday Harbor was walkable.

I was extremely disappointed with our winter break stay at Tucker House. I booked through Expedia specifically because the listing advertised many amenities (hot tub, full-service spa, library, etc.), which were the primary reason my family chose this property. None of these amenities were available to us in the suite we were given. On the day of arrival, the property was unresponsive when I asked where the amenities were, as the owner was apparently out of the country. When I finally received a response, I was told the amenities were “not available for our suite” and that this was disclosed in fine print sent after booking. This was not clearly communicated during the booking process, and had it been, we would not have stayed here. The owner offered no real resolution-no refund, no alternative accommodation, and took no accountability, instead blaming Expedia. A 15% discount on a future stay was offered, which is not a meaningful solution and will not be used. Expedia, however, was very responsive and provided a partial refund, for which I was grateful. Positives: the location is central and walkable to shops and restaurants. The unit was clean and adequately stocked. However, it is a standalone suite above a small restaurant and requires stairs, making it inaccessible for anyone with mobility challenges. A coffee maker would also have been appreciated. Overall, the lack of transparency, poor communication, and refusal to take responsibility overshadowed the positives.

The room was great for what we needed. The breakfast was great .. delivered to your door! Clean room and with everything you need. The only thing was the bed was a bit of a tight fit.. but we made it work. Overall, I would recommend to friends.

Lovely cabin (Lizzie’s house), very dog friendly (they had a cupcake for him on arrival), and delicious breakfasts and cookies. Thanks for the relaxing stay!

My goodness. The details are well-thought out. From the colors of the fence, to the cookies after dinner outside your room. Everyone is just so pleasant to work with.
