the location on beach was beautiful! I cleaned the room myself when got there with cleaning supplies because could have been cleaner. The balcony was dirty and chairs were dirty. Around the pool area could have been cleaned, trash, cig butts on the ground which we picked up. There was only one elevator to use for all guests.

The property is aging. The elevator is loud and shaky. Beds were clean amd comfy. Make sure you don't book a room ending in 01 if you want a balcony. The walkway to the beach was clean. We could only get q room key to work. TV and firestick were good. No ice bucket, no coffee or plastic cups in the room. I was looking for a bed and shower (busy doing plenty of things besides stying in the room), so the lodging was ok. It was also pretty easy to get meals delivered to the door.

The view was ok. Access to the beach was good. That was about everything that was good. They have no ice buckets, the ac unit looked like it was busted on the outside. The elevator shaked so bad I thought it was going to fall at any moment. We only got two towels and wash clothes the shower made an awful noise. The balcony door got stuck a few times so we had to make a way to keep it open when we was on the balcony. The fire alarm in the room was taped up so it most likely didn't work. Lastly the bae was not comfortable and had food bits in the sheets you get three pillows on a king size bed for two people and one of the pillow cases had something red on it. Do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Absolutely awesome for the price. Will definitely stay there again. Elderly solo woman will significant balance issues and came back to beach to wade in water in hopes it would help improve that. Only issue was elevator went down one morning and had to struggle down 6 flights of stairs but they had it back up within a few hours. Only other minor issue was hot and cold water was hooked up backwards and no coffee pot in room as was stated. Otherwise I would have given a 10 out of 10.

The location was nice. Room had a horrible odor. Saw a few roaches. Stairs and elevator were filthy. There’s a constant odor of weed or God knows what. Pools were also dirty, a cloudy green color. And they both have limited space to sit. I guess you really do get what you pay for.

The elevator was broken on the side we were originally suppose to stay on, I'm pregnant so I'm definitely not about to climb up 5-6 stories. We did get accommodated to the other side where the elevator did work, until it stormed and it stopped working. Here we are on the 6th floor... It was annoying. Beds are uncomfortable, wifi didn't work which means the TV didn't work. No turn down services. You have to ask for more towels, trash bags, a broom, or a vacuum. I gotta say, if I was still young and wanted to party and didn't have to worry about my kids comfort, I'd stay here, but now I'm in an era where I want more. I'll never stay here again.

There is a nice bar harbor and they’re not so nice Bar Harbor. We got the not so nice Bar Harbor. The elevator did not work so I had to climb the stairs to the sixth floor. The pool was filthy, but the Bar Harbor next door seamed better . I know the elevator worked if I needed a towel . I had to go down 6 flights across the parking lot and get one then climb back up the stairs .. WiFi didn’t work .. but after the climb who really cared .. Just a big no and a waste of hard earned money . Not to mention the parking situation

We stayed at this hotel and at first, on 28-1 August 2025. And everything seemed great. The atmosphere was cozy, the staff was friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable upon arrival. The location is nice, and our first impression was very positive. However, as the days went on, a few issues started to come up. Firstly, parking was a problem — the hotel lot was always full, and we had to park at a neighboring hotel, which was quite inconvenient. Cleaning was another issue. While the room was spotless when we arrived, no one came to clean it during our stay. Sand from the beach started to pile up, and basic upkeep was lacking. It would’ve been nice if housekeeping came at least once every two days. Towel exchange was also done manually — we had to go get them ourselves. One time, there were no clean towels available and we had to wait until the evening to get some. The elevator wasn’t reliable either — it seemed to work every other day, which was frustrating, especially when carrying things after coming back from the beach. Plus, our key card often stopped working. We were told it might be because of other cards in the same pocket, but we kept it separate and still had the issue. That being said, the staff was very kind and helpful throughout our stay, and we appreciated their friendly attitude. Overall, the hotel has potential and some good qualities, but it would really benefit from more consistent housekeeping and maintenance.

No coffee pot, or other items they leave for guest. Asked for ocean view didnt realize it doesnt have balcony with certain rooms. Had to asl for tp and towels alot and didn't recieve them. No trash bags. 1 small trash can. They doing work on the hotel. Parking garage closed. Ocean view pool closed for remodeling. Some things should be listed so we know what to expect. Instead of going and facing all this once we get there.

None too clean. The check-in staff was abrupt and looked like they didn't want to be there. Also, don't call a sixty-year-old man "sweetie" when he's checking in, particularly with his wife standing next to him. If you do stay and it's an "oceanfront" room, MAKE SURE you're not in the rooms at each end of the building. They don't have a balcony like the rest of them. Call the hotel directly first to confirm. In addition, the smell of "skunk weed" was almost overwhelming at times. The side says "on-site" parking, but it's a matter of luck. I guess it's true, since they own the property across the street (Ocean Blvd.) called Ocean One. They referred to that as their "overflow parking". Having said all that, and to be fair, the maintenance man, Mark, was first class. He was quick to resolve the issue (damaged refrigerator was leaking water) and very friendly. Tried to tip him for his excellent service and he politely refused. If they could clone him and put him in other departments, we might consider staying there again.

When we arrived, check in was okay. I was charged more than what I was supposed to be charged but I couldn't get them to understand that the amount I was supposed to pay, and the amount I was paying, was different numbers. I ended up paying about $100 more. We walked in the room and the bathroom door looked like the room had been flooded but the door wasn't changed or repainted. The a/c worked well. The bed didn't have a blanket on it, only 2 sheets. I didn't complain cause I could adjust the room temperature. There was no daily cleaning, or any room cleaning for that matter. 2 towels for both of us. When we used those 2 towels, we had to go to the front desk and exchange them, provided they had clean towels. We opened a new roll of toilet paper, it had mold on the toilet paper but not on the wrapping itself. When you ran out of toilet paper, or close to it, you had to go to the front desk and ask for another roll because no daily cleaning. You take out your trash and, if needed, you ask for a new trash bag. I didn't experience bed bugs but did see roaches a couple times, and mice outside the hotel. I witnessed some guests going through a suitcase outside their room that I believe may have been stolen. It was at night, one man had rubber gloves on going thru the suitcase, another younger man holding a flashlight, and a lady looking inside occasionally. We made sure to lock everything up when we left our room. I dealt with all this but I wouldn't do it again!

The pictures made this place look very nice….however, when we got to the property we had zero parking, black mold on the pillows provided by the hotel and then they didn’t have new ones to give us so we had to buy our own. The carpet on the patio out the back door of our room was so moldy it was pure goop. My toddler slipped multiple times on it. The room had tons of water damage and mold everywhere.

The proximity to the beach is excellent. The hotel itself is not so great. We had to switch rooms within 5 minutes of entering. There were roaches. When we got moved to our second room during inspection we spotted another roach. The smell in the room was also musky. You could tell that the carpets hadn't been cleaned in a while, if ever. If you don't care about clean updated amenities then this place is ok because it's access to the beach is awesome.

This hotel should be condemned. Staff was cranky and zombie-like. The “lobby”, elevator, and everything exterior was disgusting and falling apart. Bags of garbage left in the elevator. The room’s ceiling was peeling and falling down, toilet paper roll on the sink was soaked, and it was dirty and run down. We asked to be moved to another room and it was worse. The lamp shade was covered in mold and the wood floor was broken and sticking up, causing a tripping hazard. For the first time in my life, we requested a refund and they didn’t seem surprised. Stay as far away from here as possible. Instead of $135/night, ithey should be charging $20. It doesn’t matter if they’re on the beach if you can’t stomach the rooms. Yuck, yuck, yuck!

Do not stay here. It is dirty. There were roaches in our room. There were rats outside the building. Wasps in outside shower. Sink and toilet looked like they were about to fall apart. Towels and sheets did not look nor smell clean. Not to mention it is very UNSAFE. The elevator literally shakes. We were riding up the elevator with these two ladies. They mentioned that they had gotten off the wrong floor and their key card unlocked the persons room. The next day my key card didn’t work i went downstairs to ask them to reactivate it. They reactivated it but did not ask me for my room number meaning the same key card can unlock every room. Which is very dangerous. The front desk ladies were rude. It is just an overall horrible place to stay. Just pay the extra money and avoid this at all costs.

Nice view from the balcony.....Mold in the bathroom.. Paint and popcorn ceiling fallen down.. Smelled like pet urine...2 usb ports on rusted lamps didn't work . Mini fridge didn't work... Looked like the front door frame had been kicked in.. framing and wall cracked around main door...hole in bathroom door...You can put your hand underneath the entrance door and see outside... Mice or something can get inside... Knob on shower tub combo falling off.... Light fixture has short in bathroom...

This hotel was atrocious! Ignore any good review that you see of this place and run far away. We were supposed to have a first floor room, and ended up on the rooftop (sixth floor room). We were in a very sketchy room (very hidden and secluded from the remainder of the rooms on this floor), holes in walls, sticky EVERYTHING, trash thrown everywhere inside and outside of our rooms, no room service, elevators NEVER worked (again, we were on the sixth floor). etc. When we first arrived to our room it was not cleaned, we arrived at 5:30pm to a 3pm check in (so room should have been ready- and we were told our room was ready!) we walked in, trash everywhere, the people before us had trash, clothes, dirty towels, etc laying out everywhere. The place was so disgusting. We complained and the lady at the front desk refused to send cleaners to our room (even to change out sheets), refused to give us towels (so we used our beach towels for shower towels to avoid using someone else’s dirty towels, which they never even came to pick up). So, we went to Walmart, bought Lysol, blankets, and Clorox to clean the hotel that we paid for the hotel to clean and basically slept on a pallet on top of the bed after stripping it down from other people using it. Our key cards continued to stop working, so after walking up 6 flights of stairs to our room, we’d have to walk down 6 flights (again elevators never worked), walk over to the other hotel since it’s split into two, then walk back up 6 flights.

Showed up at 5.30pm and they couldn't say when our room would be ready. We had to wait around the front till they called. In the room there was a badly Rusted sink and run down room in general.no towels out for us. All doors struggle to close ( balcony, main door and bathroom) which was a security issue. Bed was good.

The bed didn’t have much cover on it. A sheet and small blanket. The couch had mold in it. There was stuff under and in the couch. The shower ceiling had a hole with a piece of tissue in it. The bathroom floor was gross. The carpet had things stinking in it that kept poking our feet. I requested to be put in a room with a balcony when I booked the room and that was ignored. There was a picture laying against the wall that was broken. The bathtub filled up with water when we would shower. The tv cabinet was chipped and broken. Front desk people had attitudes.

Unfortunately, our stay did not meet expectations due to several issues with the room and overall upkeep of the property. The cold-water spigot in the shower was not functional, and the toilet leaked onto the bathroom floor throughout our visit. The condition of the bathroom was particularly concerning, as it felt neglected and in need of significant maintenance. The HVAC system also appeared to require servicing, as the room remained uncomfortably warm despite the cooler September weather. Additionally, the flooring was substandard; what seemed to be carpeting was more akin to thin indoor/outdoor material, and it felt damp and unpleasant underfoot. While we understood that the budget-friendly rate was the main reason for choosing this hotel, we believe management could greatly improve the guest experience by addressing these maintenance issues and making necessary upgrades.

The only real good thing about this hotel is the convenience to the boardwalk and the beach. There was no room service, 2 buildings with barely working elevator, and the wi-fi didnt work. And one desk worker didnt get off her phone to address my needs.

We were not given a room with a balcony like we paid for. The carpet felt damp the whole time because we were on the first floor I guess. The toilet was stopped up, and we had to wait over half the day for a plumber to come. Every other time that we have stayed, it has been excellent and in the room that we asked for. Idk, why this time it was different.

The sink was stopped up we had no towels in our rooms or washcloths when we asked for them we were told they had none they had to wait when I went to ask for them both doors were locked I knocked on the door the lady was sleeping she was rude and put her head back down I had to dry off and wash with a pillow case our sink never got unclogged but we did get two towels

We will never stay there again. The staff was unfriendly and the room Phone didn’t work. We couldn’t call the front desk. We needed more towels and didn’t get them and the sink was leaking, water was all over the bathroom floor and we couldn’t get on the WiFi there. I will never recommend Bar Harbor to anyone.

Staff, well front desk woman, tall blackish hair was so rude, it was almost to the point I was going to say, keep your damn room I’m going somewhere else. My room was good. Although didn’t get the room with a balcony that I booked online just got the room with an oceanfront view. But their front desk people really need some customer service skills just because of this woman I will not return there again.

It's not a 5 star resort, but clean enough for me and a balcony room right on the beach, how could you really complain. My cousin and I enjoyed it and were super grateful for the amazing view! Especially during what felt like a hurricane or tornado thunderstorm that went thru, crazy awesome view even thou it was a lil scary! Staff is super nice and beyond helpful and were very accommodating.

My daughter & I enjoyed our 3 day stay here. We loved that it was right on the beach. We also loved that it was walking distance to so many places since it was at the beginning of the boardwalk. Our room did not have a balcony, but we had an amazing view of the beach & sunrise from the floor to ceiling picture windows. Everyone at this property was very nice & accommodating. The building itself is slightly dated, but is well taken care of & we will absolutely stay here again.
