John welcomed us and was a remarkable host. We stayed in six different accomodations on this trip and this one was by far our favorite. The room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Parking is free and convenient. John gave us a great dining recommendation which was within an easy 8-10 minute walk. We would love to stay here again. Thank you for being a great host.

We enjoyed an overnight stay in this lovely Inn, with its beautiful decor, clean and cozy room, and comfortable bed. The continental breakfast gave us the chance to spend time with John, the owner, and the other guests—a friendly and fun experience. Wish we could have stayed longer, to spend time relaxing on the front porch and take another walk along the harbor, just across the street, with its astonishing display of thousands of blooming dahlias.

Stay at the Harborview Inn!!! The property was gorgeous with well-kept historical charm. Location was incredible - less than 5 minute walk into town and right across from the waterfront walking trails. The rooms are clean and comfortable with lots of charm. The room we stayed in was also very large, tons of space for 2 people. The building and rooms have been restored and maintained all the while still keeping the historical features of the home. The continental breakfast was a nice extra touch, and was included! The best part of the experience was chatting with the owner, John, who is often on property. He had so many fascinating stories about Gloucester and the history of the town, as well as history of the Harborview Inn. We could have talked to him for hours. His family also helps out at the Inn, so it's awesome to see that it is truly a local business. Parking is free right on property, offered a welcome basket of snacks, and access to water bottles. 1000/10 recommend!!

I booked an overnight stay for my mom and I as a Christmas gift for her, as she had never traveled to Gloucester. We planned a trip to hunt for seaglass and wanted to stay close to Pavilion Beach. SO glad we decided to stay here! John is very warm, welcoming, and conversational. He made us feel at home right away, and even carried my mom's overnight bag upstairs to our room. We stayed in the Manchester room, which had a beautiful view of the beach across the street. The bathroom was super tiny but very clean and we slept very well in the comfy bed. They had a little welcome basket with snacks & bottled water in our room waiting for us, and cookies in the common room downstairs. The next morning before checkout we spent an hour or so in the common room, enjoyed a slice of walnut coffee cake, coffee & orange juice; chatted with John about the property and played with Skipper, his adorable dog. Cannot say enough good things about this place & would recommend to all our family & friends!

We loved the location of the Inn, which was right off the harbor. The sitting/dining area was in the front with large bay windows which allowed us to view the water while we ate breakfast. Also the location is perfect. Right across the street, along the waterfront is a walking path, and the location is less than a quarter mile from the downtown shopping/dining area. John the host was very friendly and accommodating. He was very easy to talk to and offered a lot of advice on the area for dining, history and exploration. Will definitely rent this inn on a return trip

I loved the property, it’s all so beautifully decorated and a lot of outdoor space. Sitting on the porch early in the morning and in the evening was so lovely to look out on the water. Go ahead and grab a coffee in the lovely in the Cape Ann room for breakfast and talk to John, the owner. John is a life-long local with a lot of interesting stories and don’t forget to give his sweet little doggo, Skipper some pets before heading out for the day. The location can’t be beat. I didn’t rent a car but the area is so walkable, just a 15 minute walk to Main street and is 5 mins from Pavilion beach. Breakfast is a nice continental layout with pastries, juice, coffee, and tea as nice snack to get you going.

The Innkeeper is very nice! However, the property is very old and tired. Also, there is really no onsite service. After check-in you won't see a soul until breakfast. We had to leave for a flight before the breakfast service started and the room was locked and there wasn't even an offer to set out a muffin or anything for our departure. As a point of clarification, stayed at 5 other inns this year and all had some 24 hour accommodations for coffee or early departure breakfast items. All in all, it pains me to not be more positive, but it is what it is.

The location was perfect. Easy walk to main street and the harbor walk was just across the street. Easy drive to the Hammond Castle. Bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was small, but fine. The continental breakfast was very nice. John the owner was very attentive and kind. Thanks for the lovely stay.

We wanted a unique location and we found it at Harbor View. The room was comfortable and large. Watching the activity on the harbor and the boulevard was also enjoyable.

I loved our stay at Harborview Inn! Right on the water in Gloucester, beautiful views, easy to get to the train, and great rooms and service. John was a delight to talk to and very helpful with suggestions about the area. The only thing that could have made it better for me would be fruit at breakfast, but the pastries served were delicious. I would absolutely stay at Harborview again if I am ever in Gloucester!

John welcomed us and was a remarkable host. We stayed in six different accomodations on this trip and this one was by far our favorite. The room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Parking is free and convenient. John gave us a great dining recommendation which was within an easy 8-10 minute walk. We would love to stay here again. Thank you for being a great host.

The Innkeeper is very nice! However, the property is very old and tired. Also, there is really no onsite service. After check-in you won't see a soul until breakfast. We had to leave for a flight before the breakfast service started and the room was locked and there wasn't even an offer to set out a muffin or anything for our departure. As a point of clarification, stayed at 5 other inns this year and all had some 24 hour accommodations for coffee or early departure breakfast items. All in all, it pains me to not be more positive, but it is what it is.

Location was incredible - less than 5 minute walk into town and right across from the waterfront walking trails. The rooms are clean and comfortable with lots of charm. The continental breakfast was a nice extra touch, and was included! The best part of the experience was chatting with the owner, John, who is often on property. We loved the location of the Inn, which was right off the harbor. The sitting/dining area was in the front with large bay windows which allowed us to view the water while we ate breakfast. Also the location is perfect. Right across the street, along the waterfront is a walking path, and the location is less than a quarter mile from the downtown shopping/dining area. John the host was very friendly and accommodating. He was very easy to talk to and offered a lot of advice on the area for dining, history and exploration. Will definitely rent this inn on a return trip

We had a lovely stay here! The building and rooms are very cute and cozy. The decor is beautiful, especially in the dining room. The breakfast is a very good spread of assorted pastries. Scones, muffins, croissants, you name it! The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and nice to talk to! The room was very nice and they offer a welcome basket with snacks and waters. To top it all off we had a beautiful view of the water right from our window. We had such a great time staying here!

We enjoyed an overnight stay in this lovely Inn, with its beautiful decor, clean and cozy room, and comfortable bed. The continental breakfast gave us the chance to spend time with John, the owner, and the other guests—a friendly and fun experience. Wish we could have stayed longer, to spend time relaxing on the front porch and take another walk along the harbor, just across the street, with its astonishing display of thousands of blooming dahlias.

My wife always wanted to stay at a bed and breakfast. Check ...done. The place was fine but it was nothing wonderful. I dont like staying in someones home. However it was a nice home with all the original old charm, if u like that kinda thing. Felt like i was staying at my Grandpops house. The breakfast was fine and included some scones, cakes, coffee etc Hotel for us going forward.

Harborview Inn is a cozy, well-located B&B with a very friendly and helpful owner. John quickly took care of a minor problem (stuck closet door) as soon as we mentioned it to him. Breakfast is generous and the baked goods of good quality. Our room was a good size, with a microwave and mini-fridge, and a comfortable bed. We would definitely return.
