Hyatt House Pittsburgh-South Side

Parking is a nightmare. Not recommended if you are travelling with children, luggage and a bigger vehicle. They do not have enough parking and you will end up parking in a multi level parking lot near by and do back and forth between your hotel and parking, totally unacceptable

The room was decent, except for the shower that leaked all over the floor (the glass door didn't have a good seal, so you needed to point the shower head against the wall...). Fortunately for us we weren't really staying for the amenities - the pool and breakfast were okay -because most of our stay was generally unpleasant. The evening staff were unhelpful at checkin. When I asked for water for a water bottle, I was directed to the $3 small bottles of water. I later discovered a bottle filler down the hallway. Parking was impossible; don't plan on easy parking there. There were about 35 "regular" tightly packed spots. When they were taken, you had to get yourself parked in or leave your key at the front desk in case your car needed to be moved because you were going to be parking in someone else. This was not explained by the person at check-in. We had to figure it out later. It wasn't a long wait for them to move someone else's car, but it was something else to deal with if you have a schedule to keep. On our second night there was a wedding going on at the hotel and there was no parking to be had at all. So we were directed to a parking deck a block and a half away. They did remove the $30 parking charge for the night. BTW the parking deck was $15 for the night. While I don't blame the wedding party for their gathering, the facility was not really suited for hosting a wedding AND having a whole hotel full of non-wedding guests.

The walls in our room were flithy. The foor felt very slimy. They told me i was getting an upgraded room which actually had two smaller beds then what i had booked

Nice location and view of River. Rooms clean with a nice kitchen. However no table or chairs. Tour company and places to eat easily walked to. Very good breakfast each morning. Pool water was too cold for swimming. The parking garage is terrible, small spaces and concrete posts made parking stressful and billed $20 a day.

Parking garage was not ideal. Limited parking. Some were double parked so forced to leave keys with front desk, in case they need to move it.

Parking is very poor - well look for another place next time we visit.

The most uncomfortable part of our stay was everyone in the hotel: Guests and Cleaning Staff had to use one elevator. Which means that Guests were waiting far too long got get on and off an elevator which took valuable time away from having a good time. Also having one elevator operating with that many people is a Fire Hazard. The Hyatt Hotel is supposed to be one of the best, yet the did no immediately address having the elevator fixed. Amongst the guests that were staying , they were also guests attending a wedding. Safety should always be first and the ball was dropped over my stay. My elderly mother was with me and to think if something negative would have happened, how would I have safely been able to get us out the building being on the 3rd floor. God help the guests who were on the 4th and 5th floors.

Limited parking on premises (underground garage $30/ nite) If filled, must park down the street in public parking garage Great location (overlooking river) Long wait for elevators (only 1 from lobby!) Staff not particularly pleasant. Would not stay again as there are plenty of other options

View of the river was excellent. Ice machines not on every floor was inconvenient. No toilet articles in room. Parking was the worst.

Our stay was very good, and we loved the location. Great views and lots to do nearby. Have to say the pool was a little cooler then I would have liked it, a lot cooler then I would have like it. Had to be in the low 70s... Staff was good, even though the front desk only had a single person at it all of the time. Not enough coverage during your typical sign-in time.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was spotless! The room was also spacious and very comfortable. We highly recommend.

Was making the move from New York to Chicago and made a stop in Pittsburgh for one night. Service was excellent and very accommodating to my situation, Bri was extremely helpful and sweet. My room was lovely and clean, the hotel overall is very well maintained. Very happy with my stay overall and I will absolutely be back!! Thank you for your hospitality.

Rooms were clean, new and very quiet.

The front desk staff was amazing! Then we got to our room. It was big and spacious, but far from clean. The blankets had hair, lipstick and some other dried up goop on them. So gross. Front desk did send new blankets immediately though. Kitchen items were dirty and early not checked by housekeeping. Bathroom was less than clean. Pillows on the couch had something smeared on them. Would not stay here agin.

There was mold on the pillow and bed.

Decent value for the money. Nice area. Right on the river. The rooms are extremely large, which is a very good value for the money. Lots of amenities in the room. Huge bathroom and shower. Hotel was slightly rundown, could use a little bit of upgrades. Our room was not very clean upon arrival. There was a glass of red wine on the table by the couch. The sheet on the bed was ripped. Even with those things, would still stay again because it was a good value for the money in that location and based on the size of the room. Comfortable bed.

The shower was dirty, with mold and the shower head black mold, so bad, the sofa bed it’s has stains and spots in the fabric, the really need to deep cleaning all. My room number was 338.

Great place to stay staff was great parking was great would stay again. Just a fyi you can hear train horns off in the distance but that no way effected my stay

Overall nice place. Good location. It was weird that the closet in our room was in the bathroom. It made a large room feel very small. For 2 of us to get ready we both had to continually be in the bathroom. No mirrors outside the bathroom at all.

Stay was exellecent, staff friendly and helpful. Only complaint is that the seal on the shower door was damaged and let water out.

Really convenient area. Lots of nearby places to walk to. Rooms are big, quiet and clean.

Great view by river. Room was very small. Not much privacy between bathroom and bedroom. Parking is really bad. We parked across the street because the hotel had weddings every day we were there. Couldn’t use terrace at all. The area has good restaurants which was nice. All in all would choose a different place next time.

Thought it would be great given it’s a Hyatt but aside from the size and setup of the room, the rest was disappointing. There were stains on several of the towels including a long hair hanging off of one. The sheets were also stained. There was hair hanging off one of the lamps, and there was no Wi-Fi at all during our two night stay. Given it was a work trip, this was a massive problem. There were also loud noises through the night and the fire alarm light is super bright above the bed.

Staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast was above average. The room was clean with modern decor and spacious. The bed was too soft for my preference; the only negative was smelling the scent of weed coming from the hallway; but only occurred the last night before our checkout. Nice hotel overall.

Room was updated and fresh and the river view was gorgeous…

When I was there May 24 The manager from 3-11 that day was very rude & ignorant!

Front desk lady was not nice or helpful at ck in. She made it known she did not like Expedia. When I asked if extra bedding for the pull out sofa was in the room already, she said “I don’t know I’m not in the room”. We had stated 4 people on our reservation.

Pleasant front desk staff

Myself along with about 5 other had to wait over 30 minutes to check in..only one lady working the counters and phones. Unbelievable..especially at 3pm when checkin occurs.

Property, especially the front desk, was understaffed, with only one person handling everything. Parking was extremely limited, with half the spaces requiring either leaving your keys or being blocked in. No housekeeping unless you specifically request it. Bed was great, but mattress on pullout sofa was extremely uncomfortable, thin, and full of springs. Hotel spaces were nice and very appealing, including a river balcony. Huge shower with great water pressure in the spacious bathroom. Overall, though, I would try somewhere else in this neighborhood before I stayed here a second time.

Stayed here 4 times, its always enjoyable, top notch staff and facilities. Lots of dining and party options close by. My favorite Pittsburgh staycation spot.

We are very happy with this hotel. Have stayed here many times. Clean, quiet, and walkable to many dining options. If only the front desk lady wasn’t so miserable at check in every time.

The room was well worth the cost. Very clean up to date facilities and rooms Quiet Located close to the center of downtown Pittsburgh. There was plenty of place to eat within walking distance.

Waterfront hotel with views of the river. Directly across from fun areas for family or couples. Everything was clean, polite staff. Rougher parking garage with small spaces but able to park on-site which is appreciated. We will return during the summer for more walkable fun!

I really enjoyed this hotel. It was clean, nice little neighborhood, beautiful on the river walk. Bed was comfortable and room was nice. Would def go back!

When we come to Pittsburgh this is the first place we check for booking. It's dog friendly and perfect location for whatever you are doing in Pittsburgh. Lots of great walkable places to eat in the South Side. Plus if you have a dog....there is a wonderful dog park with food trucks nearby.

Location, Location, Location! Walking distance to many restaurants -The Cheesecake Factory, a German Beer Hall ( among others) and a really fun bar/arcade called Pins. We had a beautiful view of the river. The free breakfast was varied and tasty. Will definitely stay here again!

Nice location for visiting son at Pitt

Great location! Easy to access from Hot Metal Bridge. Great shopping and entertainment nearby. Only con was parking. It has a very small lot. Had I known it was cheaper and easier to park across the street at a public lot, i would have done so.

Everything was great. The only issue was breakfast was very chaotic. There were no established lines and guests were just jumping in front of each other. An employee kept coining up and telling people to close the lids even when there was a lot of people getting breakfast.

We chose to stay here because of its close proximity to great dining options. We had a beautiful view of the river from our room. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The continental breakfast was the best hot breakfast we’ve ever had at a hotel.

Most of experience was nice and fine, except parking was uneasy and expensive, breakfast was not impressive.

Definitely not worth a fabulous rating. The hotel is new and well designed, but breakfast service was sub-par. The first day we all found hair in the eggs,the 2nd day they were over-cooked with a hard brown crust. Items were limited and poor quality compared to similar class hotels. Items were not refilled and people who arrived after 9 (ended at 9:30) were struggling to find enough to eat. Different staff each day, so really a management problem. There is pleasant seating, but little edible food. Also, the double doors in our bathroom left a 1/2” gap in the center, which would be a big problem if you were traveling with a mixed group. Parking is $20 per night and be aware that many of the spaces are stacked so you’ll have to leave your keys at the desk for some staff member (NOT a valet) to move your car as needed. Unexpected and not optimal.

The hotel was ok. The bar was being remodeled. There is no restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast was subpar at best and the tv selection is HORRIBLE!!!

We were disappointed when we found out there was no omelette station and restaurant. We were mislaid by the website. That was the reason we chose that hotel.

Parking deck was full overnight but the hotel had additional parking across the street which was fine:) Continental breakfast was great!

Most of our stay was great, with nice people at the front desk, bar, and tech guy who graciously let us borrow an HDMI cord. However, upon checking in, I wasn't informed that an extra $200 would be added to my bill (and removed 7-10 days after checkout). Also, a very loud engagement party hosted in the hotel's outdoor space was going on until 10:30pm. Plus, the modest amount of parking in the hotel's parking garage was taken up by the engagement party guests, so we weren't able to utilize parking we had paid for that day. It seemed as though the party guests were given priority over hotel guests. The last day's breakfast was a disaster because the breakfast bar was sorely understaffed. A nice room, great location, but some issues that made the cost of the stay not seem quite worth it.
