Ich habe diese Unterkunft gewählt, weil sie in unmittelbarer Nähe der Ausgrabungsstätte liegt und auch ÖV nicht allzu weit weg ist. Für mich als mit dem eigenem Auto Reisenden war diese Wahl allerdings nicht optimal, da das Hotel keine Parkplätze hat. Man kann sein Gepäck zwar kurz vor dem Hoteleingang aus- und einladen, wird dann aber massiv von der Polizei belästigt.

Very handy spot for a visit to Herculaneum. Room was quite large. Bathroom was fine. Breakfast was basic but OK. Nice terrace area to sit outside. There are some basic restaurants nearby as well as a lovely place selling wine. We got a taxi from Naples Airport which cost 65 Euros (a bit of a rip off). The hotel is located next door to Herculaneum.

Les environs semblent très délabrés. De même pour l'entrée de l'hotel. L'ascenseur prend une éternité pour monter d'un étage. La chambre était en fait assez bien, sans fioritures. Déjeuner très moyen. Le parking, payant, se trouve à 300 mètres. J'ai eu la chance d'avoir une chambre sur le coté du bâtiment, un peu plus calme, mais la route principale est très bruyante. Le seul avantage de l'hotel est qu'il se trouve juste en face du site archéologique, qui lui vaut vraiment la peine.

This is a great little hotel. There is a little more wear and tear than the photos suggest, but the hotel is incredibly clean and clearly well cared for and my room was very comfortable. The rooftop patio area is absolutely fantastic, and the location couldn't be better for a visit to Herculaneum. I found the staff utterly wonderful to deal with.

Can’t beat location for archeological site. Used hotel parking which is further than it seems. Get staff to load map on phone. Room 211, many steps, renovated. Many places to walk for food or drink. Good breakfast.

Convenient hotel to visit the ruins at Herculaneum and to catch the Mt Vesuvius bus. The staff were great and there is a nice BYO terraza. The room was clean and has nice new-ish floors but the beds were awful - I felt individual springs and when I took sheets off could see the mattress cloth cover was worn through. The furniture looked like 1970s kit. New furniture would totally revamp this hotel - the bones are good.

Das Hotel liegt an einer Verkehrstraße und man wird schon von einer verdreckten Baustelle, wahrscheinlich aufgrund von Baufähigkeit begrüßt. Inne ist es nicht viel besser. Man kann sich dem Gefühl nicht erwehren, dass nach einem Erdbeben etwas Flickschusterei betrieben wurde. Abgefallene Steckdosen, defekte Betten und undichte Fenster inkl. verdrecktem Balkon runden das Bild ab. Wenn die Zimmer über einen die Spülung betätigten, hatte man Sorge, dass das Wasser gleich im Zimmer ankommt. Das Personal ist bemüht und freundlich, unterließ aber den Hinweis, dass der 400m entfernte Parkplatz auch noch Geld kostet. Frühstück ist für italienische Verhältnisse okay, aber keine Offenbarung. In Summe wir kommen nicht wieder. Die Bilder entsprechen nicht im entfernten der Wahrheit.

We had a great stay at Hotel Herculaneum overall! The hotel and its facilities were clean and well-kept. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. It even had a lovely balcony overlooking the street! It was tidied up daily and washcloths and bathmats were replaced daily (there is no Do Not Disturb sign - which we didn’t mind). There was a slight drainage issue in our shower on our first night (which caused a little flooding) but the issue seemed to have been fixed by the time we returned the following evening. The front desk staff were amazing; they were friendly, helpful, and happily answered our questions. The surrounding area was safe, considering that the hotel is steps away from Herculaneum (safe for tourists). The hotel’s best feature is its location - aside from being right across Herculaneum, it is only a 10 min walk from the train station (Ercolano Scavi) which is where you can take the Circumvesuviana line to go to Pompei, Sorrento (Almafi coast), and Naples; therefore, it is central to all of these places!

Pluspunkt vom Hotel ist die sehr schöne Dachterrasse und die zentraleLage zum Hercaluneum. Vom Hotel aus ist man in wenigen Minuten am Bahnhof. Von dort hat man eine gute Anbindung an Neapel, Pompeji und Sorrent. Unser Zimmer war leider sehr klein und leider nicht ordentlich geputzt ( auf dem Bettlaken waren noch Haare ) . Der Zustand der Einrichtung ist leider etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Ansich merkt man aber ,dass Wert auf liebevolle Details gelegt wird.

The property itself was fine. A bit outdated and older. Overall perfect for what we needed. Not the cleanest place and the area was not very busy and not well lit at night. It did not feel unsafe though. The area was not easy to get around without a car. My biggest issue is with Expedia as what we booked was not what we recieved at the site and ended up having to pay more than we already paid because our booking didn't match the actual property.

First, the location is great, right across from the park. The concierge was friendly and helpful. The room was clean. Our bed was very, very firm. The only real problem was the shower had almost no pressure, just a dribble. Our friends in other rooms did have water pressure.

The hotel is very basic, the pictures on the site are slightly misleading. The rooms are very small with dated amenities. The balconies are so close to the others you felt like there was no privacy at all. And it felt very uncomfortable knowing someone could just step over and be next to your room door. Towels were old and shower just about passable. Our bathroom had an awful smell from outdated pipes too. The area is heavily policed and there is only a couple of “safe” places to eat or drink so I wouldn’t recommend and definitely wouldn’t stay here again. The door to reception is locked and you have to buzz to go in, that should’ve been my first clue of the area! It’s incredibly noisy too, lots of shouting and vehicles reversing all through the night etc The staff were however great and couldn’t do enough.

Pros: The front desk staff were incredibly hospitable and helpful with anything I needed. Rooms look great and everything is clean. Wonderful location directly across Herculaneum and near some of the best pizza in the world. 8 minute walk to Circumvesuvia train line Cons: Very basic breakfast. Wi-Fi did not work on the 3rd day. No view from my balcony.

Toilets wouldn’t flush. Prompted room move and then the management decided they needed the room they had moved is to. So had to move again. 4 night stay 3 different rooms. Really loud area. Bed/mattress in every room was rock hard but the noise kept you awake anyway. Otherwise v well position hotel for Herculaneum which is literally across the road.

Vi hittade hotellet genom Google maps, och såg att hotellet hade en pool, och alla rummen såg ljusa och trevliga ut. När vi kommer dit får vi reda på att det inte existerar någon pool, sen när vi får nyckeln till vårat rum visar det sig att vi har en balkong, men den är kolsvart eftersom de klätt in allt i fejkad häckplanta och plast så något ljusinsläpp var bara att glömma. Man fick även lyssna på när grannen spolade i sin toalett :) Men nära till Herculaneum.

The room was very small. Could barely walk around the bed and was worn. Frig didn't cool. Not what we expected from photos. The front desk lady was rude. The maid and food service staff were great and the breakfast was nice. The location right across from the ruins was perfect. Noisy at night with fireworks. It had lots of stairs and no view.

Located right outside Herculaneum and a short walk uphill to the train station this hotel is very convenient. Perfect if you are getting the late flight into Naples as no public transport is available and long distance taxis are extortionate. (This was €65 which was insane compared to the extremely cheap buses and trains in the day however it was over €150 to get nearer Sorrento) We used this as a base for 2 days to see Pompeii, climb vesuvius and see Herculaneum before moving to Sorrento side. The bus to reach the Vesuvius hike was at the train station a few minutes walk away. Hotel was clean, had aircon, a cute outdoor area and free continental breakfast. Very noisy from the street. Take ear plugs if light sleepers.

I booked this hotel to save my budget for staying near Naples and going from Naples to Sorrento, Capri and Positano. But it was not worth it. Because it’s very far from Naples and trains between Ercolano and Naples central are every 45 minutes. So if you miss a train in last minute, you need to wait about one hour.
