Overall this was a good hotel not really near a beach though. And the hot tub was barely lukewarm. Maintenance was called but they weren't able to fix it. Breakfast is really good and I do recommend purchasing that option.

Room cleanliness and bed comfort was satisfactory, however, condition of the room felt like a 2star motel and was the least attractive part of our stay- multiple points of damage in the room walls furniture fixture, doors, and in bathroom, including a sink that filled with backup sewage after shower use. Front desk notified, but nothing done to remedy. Suggested they focus on refurbishing this room soon, as it definitely detracts from the comfort. We only stayed for one night, and would consider coming back if we got a room in better condition (if that’s possible). Front desk & restaurant service was very friendly.

One Hour at the DoubleTree Supposed to be a chill weekend in San Diego. Instead, we spent one hour here and drove back to LA. Check-in? Friendly. The rest? A horror show. First room: grimy bathroom door, couch under the window literally ripped open, and the sound of a screaming child coming straight through one of those cursed adjoining doors. It was so loud it felt like they were in our room. We get moved. Second room: no ripped couch this time, but the walk there? Shabby hallways, old food trays rotting outside doors, and a smell I can only describe as “bad bathroom.” The room itself wasn’t much better. And—surprise!—another adjoining door. This time, we got a front-row seat to the neighbors’ sports game. Clapping, chatting, even reacting when they heard us call the front desk. Not their fault, but the walls here offer as much privacy as a bus stop. We called reception, got our refund confirmation, and left. Do not stay here if you value cleanliness or privacy.

Our toilet seat would not stay up. You had to hold on to it while going to the bathroom. The bathroom could have been a little cleaner. The lights across the bathroom sink were disgustingly dirty.

The hallways were filthy - hadn’t been vacuumed or cleaned in eons. My guest room was old and smelled like feet, the carpet and bathroom flooring was dirty and disgusting. Wrappers and crumbs in hidden corners. Air conditioning barely worked. The lobby is nice and the staff is super friendly, but I would never stay here again unless they completely gutted the rooms.

It was okay nothing special. The pictures online were made to look much better than it really was. Shower was not cleaned well. Bed was a bit stained. Pool and jacuzzi was a bit dirty. Food was alright but they forgot a few things. Took awhile and a few times to get towels and toilet paper when I asked for it. Overall alright but not the best

I was trapped in the bathroom of my room! The pocket door got stuck and I had to be let out. The door is warped or something. I had to leave the bathroom door open. I was surprised and disappointed that the hotel does not have complementary coffee in the morning. I could hear the people next door talking, even though they weren't being loud. The freeway and other outside noises were very noticeable in the room. The elevators were incredibly slow and there weren't enough of them. I went up and down the stairs and noticed the same people still waiting for the elevator.

The room was nice and roomy. The air conditioner unit is on the wall vs. on the floor which allows for more floor space. Bathroom is large & supplied with body wash, shampoo & conditioner. Ice and water bottle refill station in a plus for families there for sports tournaments. 10 minute drive from Surf soccer complex was a plus. Would definitely stay here again!

We picked double tree for a reason. Usually the beds are comfortable and the room is nice. We were put in a handicap room which was surprising due to the low occupancy. The beds were terribly uncomfortable due to the mattress sagging. The loud AC kicking on and off sounded like a train. Lack of phone charging plugs wasn’t helpful

I chose this place because I wanted to check out Torrey Pines Nature Reserve. It’s not like right on the beach, you’ll need transportation or take an Uber, but it was a convenient short drive under the freeway to get there. And I can’t say enough about Torrey Pines. Loved all the trails especially the “Beach Trail” and “Razor Point”. It was also a short enough drive to get back to the general San Diego area. I also liked that check out was at 12, the pool was heated so we still were able to use it in April and the staff was very friendly. The location seems like there is not much around but if you search grocery stores like I did, Ralph’s comes up a couple miles away and I was pleasantly surprised to see a whole fancy strip mall type set up just down the road with several stores and dining. It was convenient that you can eat there if you like. We only did breakfast. I like my free food so at least a complimentary breakfast option would have made things better but it wasn’t outrageously priced. Parking was fair for $25 a day considering some places charge more. Overall I was pleased with my pick. I also appreciated that they gave me Hilton Honors points even though I booked through Expedia.

Very nice. Nicer than what I expected for a 3-star hotel. Very quiet and convenient, right off the freeway but without the freeway noise. Close to plenty of eating areas. Close to the beach. Very friendly staff, and our room was refreshed daily with clean towels.

We had a very good 2 night stay for a soccer tournament. Room was comfy and had a very nice and large pool area to hang out at end of long day. The $28/night charge for parking is ridiculous, given that hotel is surrounded by empty office parking. Close to freeway and dining is short drive away.

The reason I gave it four stars instead of five because they have a restaurant the restaurant is not really that good. I had the buffet for breakfast which for being up your class hotel you expect a better buffet for breakfast then since they had a restaurant, I ordered pancakes Which cost 14 bucks you know it chocolate chip pancakes and when they came, it was not good not worth the 14 bucks believe me not worth any in my opinion but other than that the room everything else was good

The food there was way over priced and small portions. Also they charge 25 dollars a night for parking. I never saw anything about those charges prior to booking. And if you dont sign up for their rewards program they charge you for wifi and the tiny bottles of water in the room.

Check in was good. It was fast. The front desk clerk gave us cookies when we checked-in. It was not far from the beach. It is about a 20 minute drive to San Diego. Clean. Great staff friendly. Room was good. AC worked good. Pet- friendly. They do have a pet relief area. Lit parking so it’s not dark. We had breakfast included with our stay. They have eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, mini pancakes and syrup, cereal, bagels, croissants, fruit, yogurt, orange juice, coffee. It’s pretty good it’s a buffet. Didn’t try their lunch or dinner options. They do have a small snack store a little pricey but good. Close to highways. Good WiFi. Good check out. Would definitely stay here again.
