This is a drop of paradise i don’t know why more people don’t come here, the property is massive, old fashioned and well kept. Free surfboards and wet suits to borrow, the common areas are stunning and packed with things to do. If you're going up the east coast you have to stop here for a couple nights on your way up to brisbane or down to Sydney you won’t regret it. Seriously!

There were plenty of spaces to relax in no matter whether you wanted to be social or quiet. The place was very well ventilated, easing anxiety around Covid. One of the voluntary cleaners played very loud music as she cleaned and I wasnt in the mood for a confrontation to tell her to turn it down (has she not heard of headphones?). The location was amazing, quick walk to beach and light rail. We would stay again.

Die kostenlosen Fahrräder sind zwar ein netter Service, aber nicht zu gebrauchen (Bremsen, Pedale kaputt). Großes Minus: der Ventilator im Zimmer. Sobald es wirklich warm ist, fühlt sich das Zimmer schnell wie eine Sauna an.

The only negative thing would be that the wifi was only working in the living room, and if you were lucky, in your dorm if it was very close to the living room.

The location is excellent. It's close by to the light rail station and bus stop. It's also close to the beach! Plenty of dining option nearby. The facilities are also great. I especially like the lounge area. Most importantly, I feel safe staying there as a solo female traveller. Feedback: The pillow case and the blanket in my single room has stains on them.

Some problems due to workmen staying at the youth hostel. Wandering through corridors in tight, skimpy underpants, noisy, unfriendly. Also urine all over toilet seat in men's bathroom/toilets on first floor.

There was one lady staff who were so kind. Due to my knee injuries, she helped me look for a bottom bed bunk herself and found me the best shared room. Thank you so much indeed. I am still very grateful till this day. The areas around this YHA were really nice - refreshing and relaxing. I'm wishing to visit there again.
