Loved the location right on the river!! The room was fantastic 502 on the top floor with huge jet bathtub overlooking the river!!! Alcides was an exceptional hotel manager and arranged surprise special experiences for us to make our stay extra special. Since the hotel is close to the river, it is also close to the train tracks so bring your ear plugs. They have a beautiful outdoor terrace adjacent to the river. Only negatives were that our room phone was broken and the spa Jacuzzi was disabled for remodeling. But all the positives greatly outweighed any cons!! The whole staff made us feel like VIP: Alcides, Mery, Augusto, Edwin, Diana, Maylin and Sara!!! We even made friends on Instagram with some of the staff, and we will stay here again on future visits.

The communication team is super strong and from the moment you book ur dates, they will make sure your experience with them is smooth. The reception was very friendly and we were even offered an upgrade to one of their suites. The rustic outlook of the rooms were very pleasant and comforting. The room came with a separate jacuzzi with a sun shade ceiling along with serene views of the flowing river right beside you and the calming sound of the water flow was enough to take away all the tiredness from half day journey and exploring the town. They serve breakfasts starting 5am, which was an additional plus since we had a 5:30am bus to Machu Picchu. Though not exhaustive, it was a good wholesome selection of items in the menu. They even offered us to join for a pisco sour tasting tour at their own bar by the river, which was amazing… I can sit there for at least couple of hours with my drink :) They also helped keep our luggage in their storage after we checked out to explore Machu Picchu.

This was a great stay, the highlight is definitely the river views. The breakfast was great. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant and while it was good, it was slow and overpriced. The only real disappointment was that I was looking forward to using the hot tub after a day at macchu Picchu and they wanted to charge me $100 an hour. I never saw that while booking. Of course I said no, but it was a huge bummer. Great location, 5 minute walk from Train station.

Reasonably nice room, although a little tired. Well located in the heart of Aguas Calientes. I was disappointed because the pictures indicate and outdoor bar and a spa / pool in the hotel. Both the bar and the spa were "not operational" which was the reason why i booked. So I was disappointed.

The SPA is not good, water is not hot. Toilet room has huge noisy from the exhausted fan, and the Toilet water not coming to tank automatically. need to open the tank cover and touch it. No slipper with cold floor. No heater. only A/C. two stars hotel.

This hotel is a hidden gem within the beautiful Pueblo of Machu Picchu. I had the most unforgettable stay. They breakfast buffet starts at 5am for all the early hikers which is amazing. All staff speak fantastic English, the customer service was exquisite! I recommend scheduling a message , we did this after our hike it was amazing. The hotel also hold your luggage after check out in the event you want to explore the village or hike that day. Highly recommend getting the room with river view!

Our room had a balcony with an amazing view of Machu Picchu and a jacuzzi, over-looking the river. We fell asleep to the relaxing sound of the river flowing by. We were met at the aiport and able to sit while checking in. Staff were all friendly, welcoming. The restaurant dinner and breakfast were excellent. Enjoyed the spa service.

The hotel is in an excellent location. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. They even met us at the train although they didn't need to. Our room was on the river side. Beautiful view. Breakfast buffet delicious. Only fault was the bathroom was a little tired, cracked tiles and a bit of mold on the caulking. Hot tub didn't work in the spa area. Maybe fixed now. Overall a nice place to stay.

Maylin was the standout member of a superb team of staff at the hotel. Everyone was so helpful and super friendly. The room was clean but a little worn in places, nothing to complain about. River view room is awesome but, with the river in full flow, it’s loud, didn’t stop us from sleeping though. Breakfast was good, decent selection and a cooked to order omelette was excellent. Easy walk from the train station and close to the bus stop for Machu Picchu. Would I go again, definitely

There was a weird banging noise throughout the night from behind our AC/TV; still can make sense of why. The curtains wouldn’t close so we had to sleep with them open. The towels smelled used. The entire lobby smells like sewage.

We were glad that we chose this hotel for our stay in Aqua Caliente. Staffs were so nice. Hotel was very clean with a gorgeous view. It was just a perfect hotel for us to get some rest during our long trip!

The room was beautiful and the staff great. Breakfast buffet was decent, as well. The only negative was we were on the floor below the main floor and the short hallway was super dark and smelled absolutely gnarly. Like someone was cooking something that smelled like armpits. Thankfully the smell did not go into our room.

This hotel is located in the village with access to all shops and restaurants, hotel is clean, however it is extremely noisy… the train track is right in front of the door, the river in the back and construction right in front… the windows and doors are paper thin, you hear everything, it is like you were sleeping with the window and door open…

Truly a lovely hotel! Easy access to the train station and they send someone to pick you up when you first arrive. The staff and service were all amazing and made sure our stay was very comfortable. We had a river view room which was spectacular. The rooms were great and I particularly loved the bathroom! We loved opening the windowing and hearing the roar of the river. Very close to where you have to line up for the bus to Machu Picchu and plenty of restaurants nearby, including the one in the hotel.
Truly a lovely hotel! Easy access to the train station and they send someone to pick you up when you first arrive. The staff and service were all amazing and made sure our stay was very comfortable. We had a river view room which was spectacular. The rooms were great and I particularly loved the bathroom! We loved opening the windowing and hearing the roar of the river. Very close to where you have to line up for the bus to Machu Picchu and plenty of restaurants nearby, including the one in the hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa del Sol. Maylin in particular was super friendly, patient, and always willing to help when we needed directions or had questions getting around. She made everything a lot easier. There was also a man who helped us with our bags as soon as we got off the train. He was incredibly welcoming and set a really good first impression for the hotel. The room was comfortable and the location was great. A beautiful view of the river running along the rear of the hotel greeted us from our room. The only thing I wished we had known ahead of time is that if you turn the thermostat all the way down, it can freeze up when it’s humid and cause a big leak when it melts. Not a huge deal, but it would’ve been nice to get a heads-up. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely come back.

They assigned me a room facing the train station. I couldn’t sleep (train at 3 am!!). Even if I requested a room with a river view multiple times before checking in. Also, they didn’t have my room ready at 7 pm??? Big shot out to Franco at the bar, best pisco sour in town!!

After we booked, the hotel contacted us & said they would meet us at the train station to escort us over to the property, which I thought was very thoughtful & such a great service to provide to arriving guests. We arrived & a person from the hotel had a sign with our names, & offered to carry our luggage on a cart over to the hotel, which again, such a nice & thoughtful service to provide. We arrived & were given welcome drinks. The general manager greeted us, & was nice enough to upgrade our room to a beautiful suite overlooking the river, because it was our wedding anniversary. The room was beautiful, cozy, and had gorgeous views of the river. Everything was perfect and the staff, especially Maylin & Alcides, were so nice and accommodating. We would definitely come back.

Casa del sol staff was amazing! They contacted me before the trip to make sure we had our Machu Picchu tickets, bus tickets and requested our time of arrival at the train station to help us get to the hotel. They also got us a guide for Machu Picchu who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and helped us get in line and on the bus asap. The staff made the trip so easy and comfortable. The staff was extremely nice with excellent customer service. We would definitely come back to this hotel!!

Truly a lovely hotel! Easy access to the train station and they send someone to pick you up when you first arrive. The staff and service were all amazing and made sure our stay was very comfortable. We had a river view room which was spectacular. The rooms were great and I particularly loved the bathroom! We loved opening the windowing and hearing the roar of the river. Very close to where you have to line up for the bus to Machu Picchu and plenty of restaurants nearby, including the one in the hotel.

It was adequate but the value was super low for what you receive. Some staff were absolutely amazing— warm, kind, and helpful; but others were super transactional and not welcoming. Room and especially bathroom were more 2 or 3 star level.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa del Sol. Maylin in particular was super friendly, patient, and always willing to help when we needed directions or had questions getting around. She made everything a lot easier. There was also a man who helped us with our bags as soon as we got off the train. He was incredibly welcoming and set a really good first impression for the hotel. The room was comfortable and the location was great. A beautiful view of the river running along the rear of the hotel greeted us from our room. The only thing I wished we had known ahead of time is that if you turn the thermostat all the way down, it can freeze up when it’s humid and cause a big leak when it melts. Not a huge deal, but it would’ve been nice to get a heads-up. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely come back.

What an amazing experience we had at Casa Del Sol Machu Picchu. My sister had a small accident and fell hiking nearby so we stayed here so she could recover for a few days and WOW the hospitality was incredible. Alcides and his team were friendly and caring and they were beyond accommodating to our needs with a wheelchair. The room was spacious, clean and had a beautiful view of the river. The shower pressure and temperature were wonderful. Everything we ate at the restaurant was as tasty as it was visually artistic. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and its staff. 10 out of 10 stay!

Experiência terrível e não recomendo a ninguém. Muito mais caro do que oferece, mesmo para os padrões de Aguas Calientes. Very well located hotel in Machu Picchu Pueblo. Just steps from the bus station to the historic citadel, making it extremely convenient for visiting Machu Picchu. The hotel is comfortable and above average compared to most options in Aguas Calientes. The room was clean and the overall stay was good, though not luxurious. Property has a wonderful view of the river and polite and helpful staff. We only had a minor issue with the towels for our room were very damp and when we requested replacements, those were damp also. This could just have been a one off situation. The Mountain view faces the train tracks and new construction that is underway on the other side of the tracks so try and book River view if it’s available.

We had a wonderful stay. Diana at the front desk checked us in, and she was very sweet and friendly. The location is great - close to the PeruRail train station, and only a few minutes from the bus stop for Machu Picchu.

This hotel is located in the village with access to all shops and restaurants, hotel is clean, however it is extremely noisy… the train track is right in front of the door, the river in the back and construction right in front… the windows and doors are paper thin, you hear everything, it is like you were sleeping with the window and door open…

The location was excellent and the view from my room was superb! My room overlooked the river rapids, which made for soothing sounds all night. The hotel staff was fantastic and lovely. I had a massage and it was probably in the top 3 best massages I’ve ever had! My only issue is that the air conditioning unit in my room would make a loud crunching/clicking noise every few minutes. I told the front desk about it and their solution didn’t work.

The hotel was very nice - lovely ambiance with the running water in the background. Great location! The room was clean - bathroom seemed the most outdated (in terms of style). The breakfast was tasty and plentiful. We enjoyed speaking with "Mike" - he was cheerful and interesting to chat with over breakfast. I'd like to recognize Monica at the front desk. She was delightful and so helpful to us and our special request to check in early and meet our Machu Picchu guide, etc. She was very busy both days we saw her but she handled the pressure with ease. You'll be in great care with her!

This hotel was absolutely perfect. It was clean, rooms were nice, bed was so comfortable, extremely close to great restaurants, the bus station to Machu Pichu, and train station. Walkable to everything. Continental breakfast was delicious and great variety. The staff was fantastic, all of them! Check in was smooth and they were so accommodating. Would definitely stay here again if I come back to Machu Pichu, we stayed here 2 nights.

This was a great stay, the highlight is definitely the river views. The breakfast was great. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant and while it was good, it was slow and overpriced. The only real disappointment was that I was looking forward to using the hot tub after a day at macchu Picchu and they wanted to charge me $100 an hour. I never saw that while booking. Of course I said no, but it was a huge bummer. Great location, 5 minute walk from Train station.

LOOK NO FURTHER! If you are visiting Machu Picchu, this hotel is perfect for your trip. They are conveniently located to many restaurants and just outside the Peru Rail train station. But beyond the proximity and convenience, Casa Del Sol is truly a customer-oriented place of business. Upon our arrival at the train station, we had a staff member (Maria) meet us. She walked us to the hotel where we were greeted with a lovely hibiscus tea and warm towel to ease our arrival. The receptionist (Karen) assisted in taking us to our room once it was available and helped us throughout our stay, even signing us for a Pisco Sour course with bartender Fabrizzio! With all the patience in the world, Fabrizzio walked me through how to make a Pisco Sour, the traditional Peruvian cocktail. The restaurant aspect of the hotel is also quite excellent. Carlos, the restaurant manager, does a brilliant job at welcoming the guests and answering any questions that may arise, during breakfast or dinner (if you so choose to dine there). And I cannot forget the Hotel Manager, Alcides. He truly made our stay unforgettable. Even before we stepped foot in Peru, he was able to provide us with a tour guide for our visit of Machu Picchu, who was incredibly knowledgeable and personable. He also recommended places for us to visit and have lunch at! He also will not hesitate to have a chat with you as you are waiting in the lobby to let time pass by! This hotel is a hidden gem within the beautiful Pueblo of Machu Picchu. I had the most unforgettable stay. They breakfast buffet starts at 5am for all the early hikers which is amazing. All staff speak fantastic English, the customer service was exquisite! I recommend scheduling a message , we did this after our hike it was amazing. The hotel also hold your luggage after check out in the event you want to explore the village or hike that day. Highly recommend getting the room with river view!

The hotel was nice and clean and an easy, quick walk to the train station and the bus. The service was excellent. Food was good. I was able to get a massage last minute which was excellent. I got a suite which overlooked the raging river. Overall recommend.
