Room was very clean and lots of tea and coffee with comfy bed. Place as a whole could do with some TLC but room was fine

Clean room with tea and coffee making facilities. There was a notice in the bathroom indicating that the water pressure may be low due to an old plumbing system but we had no issues with the water whatsoever. The view from the room, and indeed the balcony area in the pub, was absolutely superb. The local area is lovely too. Staff were nice and helpful too. The hotel is right on the waterfront, around a 10 min drive from Lakeside pier on Lake Windermere but I would personally recommend driving c.20 mins to Bowness on Windermere if you prefer a livelier location with more options. My only comment would be the QR codes in the helpful information booklets provided took you to an old menu for the pub food and i think it would be beneficial if that could be updated.

We had 2 family rooms booked. One of our rooms had a leaking toilet pipe, which was repaired during our stay. However, the towels and bath mats used to mop up the leaking water were not removed after the repair - just left on the bathroom floor. Window fitting also broken. Our 2nd room was missing a light fitting and also most of the slats in the fold up bed were missing meaning next to no sleep for the person using that bed. Photos of these issues can be provided if necessary. The hotel is in a pub so check in was via the bar. This area is clearly undergoing some sort of refurbishment and the walls and plastering were peeling off and very unsightly - a big fan to dry out the damp was used during the day. There is no free parking which makes the stay even more expensive. We are in the pub on our first evening - not everything on the menu was available - food we had was okay at best. Rooms were mostly clean with good facilities. Double bed was very comfortable but extremely high which could cause problems for some customers. Beds not made after first night and towels not replaced. Nor were the tea bags/milk etc - had to ask for these. Only if these issues were rectified would we stay here again.

We stayed in rhe Porthole room. Positives - excellent location, reasonably priced with fabulous view over the railway line and the estuary. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good value and enjoyable as was the evening meal we purchased, although a little pricey for pub food. Comfy bed, some nice decor in the room, and the 2 chairs in the bay window meant we could sit and admire the view whilst enjoying a cup of tea. Negatives - damp patch on ceiling, shower temp went from very very hot to warm by itself, so we avoided using it again, toilet leaked and bathroom door didn't close. Staff apologised for a leak in one area of the hotel however overall general areas need refreshing. Summary - you get what you pay for. Price reflects the standard of accommodation.

Great staff , Leo was amazing. The chef was superb. Breakfast was so good. Top quality food. We also had dinner- pizza and steak pie were the best we’ve had. Would recommend
