Staff was very attentive and hotel is in great shape. $12 nightly parking. Montpelier doesn’t have a huge dining scene or a lot of things to do but we enjoyed the Capital and Braggs Maple Farm.

The elevator service was out of order and i had to walk up and down to my room that was on the 4th floor. To be fair the hotel called me a day before and told me that i was scheduled to be on the 4th floor and the service was out and would that be okay and i replied it was okay, but it was still a pain.

The elevator is out. Not like, "oh, calling to let you know our elevator is out." Which is how it was portrayed by the property representatives a week before my check in. It has been out since the FLOOD OF 2023 (as I found out AFTER arriving). I got my steps in for sure, with a five story walk up and down. Also, I was shown into the wrong room type, and then had to move to the correct room type. Once there, the thermostats did not work (I had to bother maintenance to point me towards the floor units...embarrasing). And the shower slider glass doors were not on their bottom tracks...just free floating, waiting to break and slice me. The fitness center is a fitness closet and the treadmill wobble above 3.5 mph. The location is great, the staff were very nice, and the property was relatively clean. And the city of Montpelier is awesome...my first time there. I will not stay at this property again though. I will AirBnB.

We went to check in and was advised the elevator was broken, my husband is handicapped. We were not able to get a handicap room, but did get a room on 2nd floor so only one set of stairs. Not a win-win situation but no choice

We live 4hours plus away and received a phone call three hours into our trip that the elevator was not working and we were going to be on the 4th floor. Not much we could do about it at that point.

The staff was outstanding-very helpful and friendly. I believe that the room was over priced for the level of luxury it provided. Hard mattress, too soft pillows, cob web in the bathroom doorway, TV in bedroom too difficult to use. And since it was on main street, it was noisy. Sorry, Hilton, but after coming from other hotels/inns in the area, you have some work to do.

Rooms were very comfortable with the exception of the following: Windows needed screens - couldn't open them for fresh air because bugs would come in. The shower head did not work well and we had a hard time getting the soap and shampoo due to the placement of the holder right under the shower head.

I like the hotel and staff. The room I had was next to the elevator, it was a bit noisy. We did have issues with the toilet and I let the front desk know when I checked out. My only real concern was the homeless/unhoused living in the parking lot adjacent to the hotel. I was worried about my rental car getting broken into as I was moving my son to college with all his stuff. In the end nothing was broken into or taken.

Tiny room w Queen bed and very noisy. Tiny bathroom w very loud industrial toilet. Bed hard as a rock.Desk clerk said because we reserved through Hotels.com. Street on one side and ice machine outside door. Elevator is slow and only holds two people w luggage. Feels run down although they claim was refreshed a few years ago.

The room was very comfortable and clean, fairly recently updated. I thought it was quite nice. The elevator was broken so we had to haul our bags up to the third floor and hike back and forth. That part was not fun. The shampoo container on the wall in the shower was empty. It's an older hotel, not fancy, but decent. We had breakfast in their restaurant and it was good, not great. The avocado toast was a total rip-off. Overall, I thought it was a decent place to stay.

Was SO DISAPPOINTED that I paid over $500 a night for a very very motel-like room. I had back aches from the bed. For that rate I’d have the Ritz at the ocean. Bummed.

The bartender was super friendly and made the experience even better. The location is perfect—everything is close by and easily accessible. Each member of the staff was courteous. When we had a housekeeping issue, it was addressed within minutes, probably the fastest I have ever had a response to a housekeeping request! I do wish there were microwaves in the room, but other than that, no complaints.

Amazing stay! After a long day of travel ( from California) we were greeted by the happiest person on the planet, Valerie! Your staff does a wonderful job of making you feel like family, not a customer. The room was great, clean comfortable and inviting! I’ll be coming to Vermont for the next 4 years (daughter will be attending Norwich) and you will definitely be my first choice of places to stay!

We’ve stayed here many times and have enjoyed it. Prior to staying here this past time we stayed several months ago and for some reason, their elevator is still not working. They offer a nice breakfast, but I have to admit I like the ambience and decor of J Morgan’s prior to being redone, as it was cozier. I have not tried their dinners since they reopened after the terrible flooding.

Due to reports about the elevator, I called the hotel directly before booking to confirm it was working again. While driving there, the hotel called around check in time to inform me that the elevator would not be working for the weekend. They did not offer a way out of the reservation and I had no way to make alternate plans. It would have been appropriate for the hotel to offer something like free parking (you have to pay to be in the lot) or a breakfast for the inconvenience, but they didn't. This is the primary reason for my rating. Otherwise, it was clean and the downtown was within an easy walk. We ate at the hotel's restaurant for breakfast - the service and food was meh. For the price, I would look elsewhere next time.

Fantastic! And kudos as a severe snow storm struck the area the property was kind enough to open their restaurant on a day they would normally be closed as local options would be limited. Awesome property and incredibly thoughtful! Truly appreciated!
