Beautiful beach area, in a neighborhood that is safe and only minutes drive to San Clemente Pier, hotel is close to water so you will have some wet walls and humidity but it's a safe clean well priced property, will stay again, plenty of on and off-site parking and very quiet, check in staff was amazing and welcoming

The room was good enough for our purposes. The amount of available parking was very tight. The bed was really small for two people, and the mattress was kinda not too supportive. the person at the desk was very helpful.

Rooms are quaint. Bed was comfortable. Too much outdoor lighting,was kinda hard to sleep. Parking can be a challenge. If youre on a budget its perfect! Staff was friendly and helpful!

There was absolutely no parking. The closest I was able to park in my entire 3 day stay was a full block away. The office hours of noon-9PM wouldn't have worked for me, but were not observed anyway. So, getting a word with the manager was almost impossible. The 3 times I tried to call the office the day prior and twice while I was checked in were not answered. This was, overall, the absolute worst experience I have had in a room I've paid for. To top it off, I had family in a much nicer hotel and they were paying half the price. I asked multiple times to be able to cancel my reservation and the manager never did give me an answer. I ended up staying at different hotel the last night, despite the fact I'd paid for the night, because I couldn't get anything from the manager.

The hotel is affordable. However, resort costs were added and there was no swimming pool and gym called resort costs at all, I don't understand why the cost is added, The towel bed is all so messy.

The property was definitely outdated, but the area and staff make up for it. I’d recommend bringing your own/extra towels as we only had 2 beach towels in the room for showering/personal use. I’d also recommend bringing an extension cord as there was literally only 1 outlet in the entire room. Parking was free and easy, and I liked that we also had close access to the freeway, beach, and restaurants.

Roaches in the room, burn holes in the sheets and a weird red substance dripping down the mirror in the room. It was awful. Had to buy roach spray and roach motels just to be able to walk in without seeing roaches running around. Front desk said they could move us to another room but they were all compromised with roaches. Will not stay here again.

Room was filthy and dirty. It smell like cigarettes, there was no hand soap. Bed was almost broken sheets looked dirty, lights were not working, windows curtains were on the way of the AC. We ended up leaving the place with in the first 15 minutes. Not recommended.

I never leave reviews and honestly host airbnbs myself. This place was gross. From sheets on the bed flipped inside out to cockroach’s at night crawling in us and the floor having sunflower seeds eaten and the sink having hair. I’m sorry, it was the cheapest stay in the area but sometimes you pay for what you get and this was absolutely the case here… would NOT recommend 👎

I had one of the worst hotel experiences here. The room was dirty from the moment I walked in. The floor hadn’t been swept and there was hair all over the tub. Even though it was listed as non-smoking, the furniture was covered in cigarette burn marks. Half of the electrical outlets didn’t work. I booked a queen bed but was given a full instead. The room smelled terrible and to even check in, I waited over 30 minutes for the front desk clerk, who finally showed up looking like he didn’t want to be there at all. The parking lot was just as bad, with an overflowing dumpster that smelled awful. Overall, this place was run down, unclean, and poorly managed. Between the false advertising, the condition of the room, and the lack of service, I would never stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

We had two nights booked and had to leave the next morning after sleeping on top of the sheets! The room was dirty and the sheets had remnants of someone having been in them. Urrrhgh so gross. It was impossible to communicate with anyone that could be of help. The “on-premise” office person disappears into the night.

The room we got was very dirty, the window in the kitchen had no screen, so felt unsafe leaving it open for air. The bed sheets and blankets had hair and stains, and were wrinkly, like they hadn’t been changed from the previous stay. The TV didn’t work. The floor was filthy, and had a raised hump in sections. The mirror looked to have many blood stains on it. The whole place also has a very musty/moldy smell. The windows from the bath and kitchen looked out to, what seemed to be just a trash heap. Don’t book this place, trust me!

Look, it’s definitely a cheap stay. The man at check in is your kind and let us check in early but only by being there early and requesting staff to clean our room first. The room was filthy, sheets had fresh stains, hair and crumbs on them, never washed. The room smelled like an ashtray. Broken window, no remote for the tv, no coffee makes, ceiling fan did not work. I would rather sleep in a dumpster. We ended up driving home and never slept in the room.

The staff and locals are very friendly and I had a nice stay overall. The rooms themselves don’t do the pictures justice. The rooms were clean but the furnishing is outdated and needs renovating. The room was musty and the bed as well. Seemed they house homeless folks and God bless them, but for the price I expected better then.

The man that checked us in was friendly and guided us to the room. The room itself was pretty run down. There wasn't any soap provided, a third of a roll of toilet paper, the beds were uncomfortable and very creaky, it smelt like cigarettes as people were smoking right outside our room, and the walls were paper thin. We could hear someone yelling very early in the morning. We check out early in the morning. The drop key box was convient.

We booked a Queen room but it was a full bed. There was one thin beach towel in the room and every time I went to the office after check in no one was available. The shower door was broke. We luckily brought many beach towels. I asked about the bed and was told it was a queen but on other booking sites it does list the rooms with full beds. The location was great. The property was quiet and conveniently located.

I booked for 3 nights stay. I arrived a little past 9pm and the office was closed. I only realized that office is open only until 9pm so I booked a night at a nearly hotel. The next day at 11am I went back to Oceana to check in. Thinking room should be ready since yesterday only to be told that even if I arrive yesterday, the room is no longer available as it was used to upgrade another person. I was told it will take them 10 mins to clean the room. I was fine but asked for the key so I can go and will just return at night to sleep since I have a schedule to follow. Night comes and the room was not cleaned yet, no beddings and very dirty. Good thing I came back at 8pm when office was still there. They put beddings quickly but when I look at the beddings, it has a lot of hair and not even washed. Good things I have beddings in my car and used it instead. I asked for a refund of my first night since it is not basically available and room was not ready until 8pm the next day. I havent heard back from them.

We arrived around 10pm, and after checking in, we walk to our room to find our door WIDE OPEN. Looking into a dark (hopefully empty) hotel room as two female travelers was like a thing of nightmares. So we went back to the person who checked us in, and instead of getting us a new room or offering anything to remedy the situation, he said, “The rooms have to be cleaned and inspected before check in, I guess I just forgot to close the door on the way out”. If you need a cheap stay, that’s about all this place is, it’s a roof over your head and a toilet.

Check-in was very quick and easy with Charlie, wonderful guy. Price was great and only 3/4 mile from the ocean/pier. Starbucks around the corner along with shopping and other dinning..

Really great hotel. Lots of bars and restaurants around but only one was open late. The pier is a quick 15 minute walk. The only problems we had were that our key card only worked about half the time, the condition of the building was run down, and there were stains and holes in the bedding.

The room was fine. Issues: Check-in was unsettling. I was led to 2 rooms. One had not been vacated by the current lodger; I was assigned the second without a key. I had to ask one out. Laundry was advertised on Orbitz. However, it was not available. The patio area outside my room was used by homeless individuals truthful the day and night. Marijuana smoke washed through the window AC unit at all times. There was taking right outside my room all night.

I love the lax nature of the place but it feels unprofessional. The staff was very friendly but was confused on how to check us in. The area around was very nice with beautiful homes and a beautiful pier down the road but the hotel itself attracts some unsavory company that was grouping around the entrance. All and all well worth the money but far from perfect

It was not a pleasant stay because, as a single female,the majority of the time I felt very vunerable as anyone from the street could see when I entered or left the bedroom.They could also see straight into the room if I left the curtains open so had to leave the curtains closed even during the day. Reception closed at 9pm, so guests were left to their own devices during the evening/night. The walls were very thin as it is an old property, and every night I could hear people in the adjoining rooms until early into the morning. This included men knocking on the adjoining room door.It was not a pleasant stay and I would not advise families or single females to stay here even though the Manager was very friendly.
